My wife is at Heritage House Adult Care. The caregivers are very conscientious. The home feels very homey in the sense that it's in a neighborhood. You wouldn't know that it was assisted living. The adult foster situation just looks like a home, but it is clean. It has five residents and the director is very skilled. They're all people who've been in the field for a long time. The food is outstanding. When I go by and I smell dinner I wanna stay. I wish I could have dinner there because it's a very home setting, the meals have varieties there. My wife can help with the menu or can help with the grocery shopping list. It's just the opposite of feeling institutional. It feels as though you're part of a house, and all five residents have meals together, breakfast, lunch and dinner, they get out of their rooms, and out of there, so a lot of really nice things about it. They may have people that have different levels of need. There's five residents, and those residents have a variety of needs. My wife needs a lot of care. She has an autoimmune disease that has left her unable to walk, and unable to do a lot of things with her hand. It's probably beyond assisted living that they're giving her. If somebody comes and they need memory care there's no side to it, there's five rooms, and they may have a resident who needs assistance because of memory issues, a resident who needs assistance, just a little bit of help like assisted living, or somebody who needs skilled nursing care 'cause they need help in and out of there every day, like they need help bathing or using the restroom and all sort of things. My wife is probably in that category of needing nursing care or skilled kind of nursing care, but I do know that it meets the needs of a variety of people. My wife is busy working, she basically works remotely from her laptop for a school district, and I just know that she's able to do that and she continues to stay active, so she's not looking for any activities.
