"We went to Bickford of Worthington. The building seemed very open and very comfortable. The staff members were friendly and knowledgeable. They seemed to be very supportive of the residents there. They were open with information. If I had any questions or if I thought of anything, they were ready to answer whatever my concerns were in preparation for my grandmother. They had various sizes of rooms. The ones I got to see were the smaller ones. Depending on what size of room you might need, they had a schedule based on how much you could pay. I think it was either per day or per week or something like that. The place looked clean and well-kept from what I could tell. I didn't get a chance to try their food. It smelled good though. From what I could see, it looked like the people were comfortable."

"The lady who did the tour at The Avalon of Lewis Center was good to follow up later with me. She reached out to me several times and they even brought something by my door and left a little gift, a book, on how to pick communities, and things like that. She also followed up with me through email and phone calls multiple times. I thought the tour was great. I liked the facility. It was very clean. It smelled good and it was well-maintained. It was the closest to where we lived so I was considering it during the time that I was looking for my dad."

"Sage Park Memory Care & Transitional Assisted Living was a five because of the level of care that they give, a very clean environment, and it felt very safe. The tour and the amenities that they have were really nice. It looks like they were very caring and very helpful information-wise. Everybody spoke when I was there. The common areas were really nice and clean. The rooms were very nice, clean, and big. I did like the fact that they had private rooms. The shared rooms weren't bad, but pricing is a little high for me."

"Overall, The Bristol was a very nice place. It's very new, so everything's sparkling clean. The staff was very, very pleasurable to talk to. In fact, I knew a couple of people who moved in there and they liked it very much. The rooms and the closet areas were a little smaller than we liked, but other than that, we liked everything about it."

"StoryPoint Gahanna had assisted living and memory care, so we looked at both sides. The staff was friendly. They offered a lot of arts and crafts. There are a lot things for the older clientele. I liked the fact that the rooms were clean. I liked that they had the washer and dryer and the refrigerator inside of it, and just the fact that they could eat out on the patio, and then they have live music and live bands at dinnertime. It was really, really nice. I really would like to put my mom there. I'm just working on money issues."

"I visited and it looked liked this place is beautifully geared to Alzheimer's patients and my mom does not have Alzheimer's. The place was upbeat and bright. When I walked in and they had guitar playing and some people were dancing. It looked socializing and fun."

"My mother-in-law has moved into The Avalon of New Albany. She's only been there for three days, but so far, so good. I like it because there are a lot of people who are at the same level as she is. In her previous location, most of the residents were nonverbal, so she didn't have anybody to talk to but the staff. I've only had interaction with the staff on move-in date, so it was fine. The move-in coordinator and the nurse came in to speak with us. Communication was good. She has a nice-sized room. It came with a built-in, attached to the wall, closet like an armoire for her clothing, but we had to provide everything else. It's a studio apartment with her own private bath. She's been doing lots of activities like arts and crafts. They appear to have a lot going on, but they also have three levels. They have the senior living on the first floor, assisted living on the second floor, and then memory care on the third. Every time we're there, we see the bus hauling people in and out, like going out on little excursions or whatever. They seem to be a very active community. She eats grilled cheese every meal, so she seems to love it. As long as they have that available for her every meal, which they do, and that she's happy, then that's all that matters. The first two floors are very nice. The memory care is not very exciting. It seems dated on the third floor, and they could use some additional ventilation and deodorizing because when you have memory care, you have a lot of incontinent type of tenants. The smell is not pleasant, but her room is great. It's just that they need to take care of that. I am saving $3,500 a month by moving her there. She is having conversations with people. We're very happy we've moved her there."

"My mother was a Danbury resident for a year until she passed. My family is confident that we made the best choice with Danbury as the entire staff there is top notch. My mom had wonderful care there. I interacted with the staff on a daily basis and always felt their care was genuine. Everyone went above and beyond in looking after my mother. The food was always outstanding and the entire facility well-maintained. I told their loving and compassionate Exec. Director, Cara, that when my time comes, the Danbury is where I want to be. "My friend is now at Brookdale Trillium Crossing. I like the facility. I like the entranceway in that it opens up into the dining room so that there's kind of a sense of community there. I like the fact that she had only been there about three weeks, but the person at the front desk called her by name when we walked out. She's in assisted living, and one of the assistants there wanted to make sure that my friend knew that if we were leaving, we needed to sign back in. She had left before with someone else and didn't sign back in. So, I thought that was good that the person on her floor brought that up to her and walked back and showed her where the back door was if she wanted to go out the back way. She asked my friend if she had a fob so she could get in the back door, and my friend did not, so she said, 'Okay, I'll make sure that you get one.' To me, that exhibited that they were keeping a close eye on her whereabouts as they should. My friend's apartment is accommodating some of her furniture that was pretty big. The ceilings are fairly high. Even though it's only a one-bedroom apartment, the ceiling gives you the feeling that it's much larger than it is. The bathroom is a nice big size. She has a full kitchen. Her furniture seems to fit in there pretty well. My friend is still unpacking, but I thought that was pretty good. For activities, I know they have a pool, but it was not open at the time because they were doing something to it. My friend likes the fact that they go out shopping every Wednesday and she can get on a travel van and go with whoever else is going shopping, and she can go to the local stores. I like that. She likes the selection of food, and she's very picky. She likes the food, and of course, that's important. She has the option to bring it back to her room, which she is doing because her room is pretty close by. I know she's doing an exercise class, too. So, I was very happy that she was getting into that right away. "

"I toured Kensington Place Retirement Community. I like the apartments. The assisted living and the memory care apartments were the same size as the independent living. They had a nice layout for community areas and a nice outside area where people could sit. It's very nice. The staff members were all friendly and they related well to the residents. The facility was very well made."

"My Mom really enjoys living at Story Point. She loves her one bedroom apartment with a balcony and small kitchen. She has made many friends and can be as active as she feels fit for each day…… From exercise classes to personal game times as well as the activities scheduled for all of the residents……her days are filled with joy!"
