"In short this facility as since seen a much needed face lift in the past year. All and all the cosmetic appearance is much improved but the service that still work there have not seen any additional improvements or higher standards. The time that my grandmother stayed there her bath room was only cleaned once a week ( which was nasty considering it was scared with the other party in the room). The sheets were not washed unless forcefully requested. The halls looked fairly clean and the nurses stations seems to be in a good state but I personally think that is so the up in coming patients would have a nice feel for it. The food would be rated as just plain nasty and only fit for those without any taste buds. The lack of patient care this company provides proves that some place need to be fully investigated before allowing your family to stay with complete strangers. "

"My mother has been at Harmony Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 2 months now. The place is clean. She seems to be happy there, and they're taking good care of her. They contact me often about my mother's case. I'm having a meeting tomorrow with her care team just to see how things are going and I do that once a month. They call me if anything changes with her medications or if she's suddenly sick. They've been very cooperative in getting her to her doctor's appointments by transport. The staff sometimes just seem to be a little overwhelmed with the demands and needs of their residents. I know they're doing what they can, but I think they probably could use more staff. The food is good, and they have a nice variety. There are three residents in her room, but there's room for a chair and a wheelchair. Each has her own bedside stand and an eating table."

"Everyone seemed warm and acted like they really cared about the patients they were taking care of. The areas were clean and the people were happy. If the time comes and my parents are in need of a facility like this, I would send them there. I felt like everyone was taken are of. "

"I visited, but I'm better, and I'm maintaining my independence this time. I would give it an excellent rating. There were people I already knew, and they were very pleasant. They have art classes, and they had some of their paintings up for display. They have exercise classes and Bible studies. They have probably more than I would want to achieve. The dining room is excellent. They have a good chef, and people in town rent the room, sometimes, for parties. I've eaten there; the food is very good."

"My brother moved into North Carolina State Veterans Home - Kinston. It's a wonderful place, very nice, very clean, and doesn't smell like pee. Everybody welcomes you with a friendly heart. They just were so, so helpful. We're just so delighted to have him back in there. He was in there for rehab. They sent him home, but he had to go back. This is his second time. They're just wonderful. The staff was wonderful. As soon as he pulled up, he had people out there that were so excited to see him. They walked out and just greeted him with open arms, and that staff is amazing. The room has his bed in there (which is a hospital bed), and then also tables and chairs, a desk, and wardrobe closets for him to put his clothes. It's kind of like a studio apartment, but we got one that had two great big windows. It's looking right out down the road. He could see people when they're coming in, and all the trees. It is beautiful. It's all private rooms. They had a bingo setup. They had church, and then they had game night. They had a lot of activities going on all through the day as well. He just came back today. The food is great."

"The staff went above and beyond to make sure my grandmother was comfortable and well taken care of. I would recommend this facility above any other facility. I have never had a negative experience and the staff is always very pleasant to deal with. The residents do lots of activities and the staff takes requests if there is a particular activity residents want to do. "

"My aunt has been in Golden Living for about six weeks now. It was closer to her home; it was nice, clean, and smelled good. The staff was very nice and courteous. I've seen the food my aunt eats and she doesn't complain about it. She has physical rehab twice a day. She has a private room with a bathroom. "

"Upon arriving I noticed that the doors were locked with a security system and you either had to know a code to enter or you had to ring a bell for service. I thought this was great as sometimes seniors can be the victims of predators. I also thought this was good because some patients may have the tendency to wander. Once I entered the building I noticed how clean it was. The staff were all cheerful and seemed happy, polite, and friendly. The residents were lining the hall waiting for lunch. Some residents, my grandmother included were playing a game of Bible Bingo for prizes of candy and lolipops. My grandmother seemed very happy about her winnings. Overall I think my grandmother is happy there. She is able to socialize and live a happy life while still receiving the care and attention she needs. "

"The first thing i notice about this facility is that is has a big front yard with great lawn maintenance. The building is huge. As i walked in i was greeted by the staff and residents and made conversation with one of the nurses that was on break. One thing i like about this place is after a patient eats, his or her tray is removed from his or her room within 5 minutes or less. The staff is very kind and concern of every needs of the residents. I asked a elderly woman that lived here for the pass 5 years "How do you like living here? Was it a good decision?" She said " Honey i love it here. They treat me with the up most respect, the food is great, my friends love it here, and i'm comfortable. "
