"My mother was a resident of Smithfield Manor for three months. The staff is the thing that made this a good community. It was people who had worked there for many, many years. You could tell that they cared about their job and their residents. It was skilled nursing, so a lot of people were in beds. But they had lots of physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy."

"When I first entered the Brian Center Health and Retirement home I was immediately impressed by the clean and friendly environment of the lobby. There were residents sitting on nice sofas reading or talking. As I progressed through the halls I was greeted by kind staff that offered warm smiles and were more than willing to assist me in finding the resident that I was looking for. When I located my friend I was impressed with the cleanliness, fresh smell, and pleasant atmosphere of her room. She was clean and well cared for and all smiles. I was happy to find her doing so well. When meal time came I expected to be asked to leave the facility but instead I was invited to stay and eat with my friend. Curious about the meals that the center offered for my friend I accepted and once more I was pleasantly surprised. The meals were well balanced and very tasty, nothing like what I had expected. All in all I am very impressed with the facility, the staff, and the level of care that they give to my friend. "

"Springbrook Rehabilitation & Nursing Center has been very excellent. It's a newer facility, or at least it looks new. It's very clean, the walls are nicely painted, and the grounds are nicely cared for. I like the bird feeders out in front of the windows, and they keep up with the grounds. It seems very modern, and at the same time it's well kept, so it's nice. Everyone's been very nice to me and my mom. They are a little short-staffed, but it's worked out well for my mom because she has a little bit of mobility, so she can get to the bathroom on her own when they're not coming quickly. I think the staffing issue is kind of a problem, which is the same for all the facilities right now is what I've understood, but that would probably be their only downfall, but I don't think it's their fault. I think it's just a problem right now. Just from talking to my mom, I think she likes the food. The facilities are very good."

"My mom was a resident of Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Johnston County. The care was good. Just like everywhere else, they were short of help, but they did a good job. The staff were good people and nice. I would say the meals were fine. It's not like what you got at home, but you get basic food. She just wouldn't eat it, but that's just her. She just wanted a certain thing, and that's what she got. She had no appetite, but her food was good. They kept her room clean. She had physical therapy, and they did an excellent job with it. The staff and people that work there, I would give them a four. It's nothing against them, it's because they're short of help. The ones that are there did a good job for what they had to work with. Some were run ragged. It's a shame the system's that way right now. The facility was clean. The people we dealt with were good people. The only problem I had with the place is they were short staffed. The wait time once you needed a little help was a little bit longer than usual. I told my mom that was the way it was everywhere, but it was a whole lot better than a lot of places. When they get there, they were willing to help her. She was doing good. She had a bad first night, but that was taken care of quickly. My mom was treated well, and she was looked after. It's just that they were short staffed and the wait time was a little bit longer than most places. As soon as they could get to her, nobody went lacking. It's just that the time was delayed a little bit because they can't do so much when you have so many, but it was a good facility."

"BellaRose has been a great experience for me and my mom. She has been a resident since January and from the beginning the staff has been amazing. The rehab team is fantastic. Since her stroke she has not been able to stand or walk. They have taught my mom how to go to the bathroom with minimal assistance. Before she got there she wasn't able to do that. The CNA's and nurses are out of this world. They have been so helpful with helping me and my mom get acclimated to nursing home living. The administration is someone that has no problem making hard decision. That's why during this pandemic the facility has NO cases of Covid-19. "

"The nurses, aides, cna’s pa’s and therapists were great. They were all very attentive, compassionate and kind. Couldn’t ask for a better group to take care of my mom. My mom, who is 91 yrs old spent over 3 weeks there and neither one of us has any complaints."

"My mom is at Wellington Rehab. She has been there for three months. However, they don't do well at all with communication about bills or the family member. They suck. My mom went there from an ALF to this facility because she needs more assistance. Back in December, she was still on her insurance. In going there when she was very sick, I told them if she was off of her insurance to let me know because I have to start to self-pay, but they had not been billing me, and I had not heard anything from them since December. I had to pay four months of a huge amount of money because they had not billed me, and I thought that was just crazy as hell. But now they got me on radar, and I guess everything is going smoothly. One thing I will give them as long as I keep my mom there, the nursing staff and the care they give her is excellent. The nursing care for my mom is the most important thing. If I can pass the headache with the administration, they I'll have the headache, but if it’s the other way around, I will take her out of there. The most important thing is the care for your loved one. Their laundry department -- as far as clothes washing -- sucks because they lost 100% of my mom's clothes the first time they washed them, so I went in and picked up all my mom's stuff, and I have been washing them ever since. They have the worst laundry department. "

"My dad is staying in Zebulon Rehabilitation Center for rehab. The staff have all been helpful and attentive. He is on a special diet, and the food seems fine when I look over the menu. I believe certain areas could be cleaned a little better, but in general, most areas seem pretty clean."

"I visit this facility at least once a week. What I really like about this facility is its attention to detail. The staff is always very friendly to visitors, but most importantly, their attention to the residents needs are excellent. My biggest impression that seals the deal for me is how the nursing staff goes out of their way to bright the residents day. I once saw a nurse seeing a resident crying and this nurse went out of her way to make that resident smile by bringing her a flower. A small token, yet this resident was so overjoyed that she had to tell every one about her flower. I really like visiting this facility. "

"My mother in law stayed at sunnybrook for 3 months after a 2 month long hospital stay. That was a stressful time for my family and the staff at sunnybrook easied our worries. Not only did she receive great care from the nursing staff, but the therapy team helped her tremondously!! Any questions we had were always answered and any issues were resolved. I am so proud of what Sunnybrook did for my mother in law!! "

"My mom is a resident of Tower Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. They give her full care services, including bathing, walking, and cognitive activities. They have activities always trying to keep her engaged as much as they can during the day, like coloring, drawing, and watching little things on the web and stuff like that. Their staff is pretty good. I haven't tried the food, but they do feed my mom well."

"The staff did an amazing job helping me with any and all questions that I had about my mom. They also helped teach me and my family how to take care of my mom because she was going to need help moving around the house. The people were friendly and had no problem with me spending most of my time with the other elder people around the place. The staff was really organized with their paper work and never put someone on hold for more than five minutes. They never rushed through a person trying to get to another and always made sure to take care of everyone's needs. They made sure to keep the place clean and I remember them cleaning it throughout the day on weekdays and weekends three times a day. They took extra care of my mom for me and my family and now she is back to her old self. "

"Harnett Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was very clean. It had a nice, clean, fresh scent to it. There were no odors. Everything looked nice. It wasn't just something thrown in there. The staff members that we met were very kind. We witnessed some of the residents there being taken care of. They were very kind, and the people that we saw there seemed to be okay. They seemed to be happy with what they were doing. The staff members were very friendly. They would speak to you first. If you have questions, they will try to help you out with whatever questions you have. Everybody looked like they had a job to do, and they were doing it well. They also take care of the facility that you would call a lockdown, which is where Alzheimer's patients need to go. That's where my father needs to go because he is a wanderer. They showed us those areas and the rooms there. Everything was clean. There were TVs around and things around for the residents to do. There was nothing that looked like it had been staged. Everything looked like it was being used by the people there on an everyday basis."

"I really liked Universal Healthcare; it rated very high but they didn’t have any opening for what my father needs. They were so new that they were not fully staffed to the point where they could handle someone like my father. It felt like home, and cleanliness is excellent. The person who entertained me was very knowledgeable, and the rooms were of pretty good sizes; it had both shared or just single person room, and they were very nice. They didn’t have enough staff in the area that my father needed. Everything was very well-manicured. It was a very nice place, the people were very nice, the facility was just really upscale, and the food was nice. It would have been a really nice location if they could have taken him. "

"My elderly friend lives at Whitaker Glen, and it's a nice assisted living community. Whitaker Glen is located in Five Points, a trendy area in downtown Raleigh, and it's close to shopping, grocery stores, drug stores and restaurants. Her "apartment" (as I call it) is very spacious and more upscale than most retirement communities I've seen. The "apartment" comes with a separate living & dining area, nice sized kitchen, bathroom, hallway, and large bedroom. Her living quarters include stainless steel appliances with granite countertops, and a balcony outside. The grounds and landscaping are well maintained and the community has some very bright (and active) residents. My friend has made a number of friends w/ other residents in the community. They offer day trips, shows, activities, concerts and transportation services. There is a restaurant within Whitaker Glen (with decent food), and they also have a wellness center (fitness & workout area). I would definitely recommend Whitaker Glen if you're looking for an upscale assisted living community. "

"Mom is at Raleigh Rehab Center, and they seem to be doing a good job with the rehabilitation as far as doing exercises and helping her out. Cleanliness could be a little better. The staff is very nice and they seem to be very pleasant with my mom. They have a TV there. That's pretty much what she does. With Alzheimer's, she doesn't do a lot. It's in the middle of Raleigh. So, there's a bunch of stuff out there. They have all kinds of restaurants there and hospitals."

"My dad grew up in Hornet County, so he chose Universal Health Care of Lillington. My mother was there too before she passed. The facility is not very big. I think the food is okay, and dad loves to eat. I don't have any complaints except that I'm not crazy about his room, and I don't see any activities for the residents. But I don't expect a lot more, so it's okay. "

"The assisted living program at Windsor Point was very nice. The home was very clean and the staff was friendly. The thing I liked the most about the facility was the appearance of the patients. They looked very well cared for. We decided to wait until we put him in a home but if we decide to he will be placed in to this home. We know he will be fed and he will also be able to watch television and be comfortable as if he were home. It has the feeling of a regular home instead of a hospital. "
