"My relative has moved into the Carolina Rehab Center of Cumberland. They have been very accommodating, and it's very clean. They took all precautions because sometimes he does try to go outside, so they put a little band on him. Any time I've asked for anything, I've got it, and there's always somebody there to help you. The staff is attentive and available. The first day we had OT and PT, both therapists called me to give me a report. He doesn't eat a whole lot; I have seen the food, and it looks good. I have not tasted it. They have something going on every day, and they consistently have bingo on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This morning, they had board games, and card games, a lot of activity. I don't know how much it costs to live there; I only know the rehab part is through the VA."

"No communication between their staff members. One shift has no idea what the other one did. monitoring their patients like they should... NOT HAPPENING. They did a quick evacuation for the hurracane on september... (pretty good I guess) but after they send all the patients to different facilities... some as far as more than 2 hour drive away... they failed to contact the family to give them updates on when will they reopen leaving many scrambling finding another placer closer to home for their family member. Going to the building to get info its like a joke... no one there or no concrete answer. They spend a lot of money fixing the lobby area before the storm but no building fixing will fix the staff issue. They are obviously under staff, over worked and underpaid (it seems). "

"Autumn Care of Fayetteville was very nice inside. It looked modern and like a 4-star hotel. The few staff members we met were really nice. They offered transportation for the patients to and from doctors' appointments. It was so expensive, and when Mom’s money runs out, she would have to move. "

"My mom is currently at Autumn Care of Raeford and it seems to be working out pretty well. It's very clean and I did appreciate that when we first stepped into the facility it was a very clean environment. The staff is very nice, but that's always that way with me working in facilities and everything in the past, of course people are always good and project to be that way when the family is around, so I don't know how it is when we are not there, but when we are there, everybody seems to be really nice. "We moved my mother, post stroke, from a rehab in Huntsville, AL nearer to me and my family outside of Raleigh by ambulance. It was a long and tiring trip for my mother. The nurses and techs at Harnett Woods did everything to ensure my mom’s medications and care needs were addressed and did a great job making her comfortable in a new and unfamiliar environment. It has been 6 nights and that same level of compassion and care has carried forward. Rooms are clean with shared bathroom between 2 double rooms. They are refreshing all of the rooms, which were getting a little surface worn. All plumbing and equipment are well maintained and functioning. Meals are good and offer variety. My mother is currently bedbound so completely dependent on care from the staff. They go the extra mile to make sure she can contact them at all times. They bathe her daily with care and dignity. I could not be happier with Harnett Woods."

"My aunt is in Cornerstone Nursing Home (Cornerstone Nursing and Rehab), and she loves it there. It is good. She has a room just like the one she has at the house. It has a single bed, and it is like a college dorm. The sanitation is really good. They have lots of activities. They have church on Sundays and all kinds of classes going. However, they need more nurses at night because when my wife had a knee replacement, she was in there for two weeks. They placed something to keep her knee moving at night, and when she needs to get to the rest room, she cannot because of that thing. She twists, it really mess up her leg, and she can't get a nurse. "

"Emerald Health & Rehab Center is beautiful. It's gorgeous. The head, Mike, was the one we talked to originally when we went through it and he was very helpful. He came out to my parents' apartment and met with them. He originally suggested that Mom didn't seem bad enough for his location and suggested assisted living. He was very helpful and tried calling other people and got us in touch with assisted living places. Then she took a turn for the worse and they determined she definitely needed full-time care, so she ended moving to his location. My father has been to the dining room and he thinks the food is very good, but my mother is not able to go to the dining room. They bring her food to her and she eats in her room. My sister thinks that the menus and the food they have all seem very good, and that there is a good selection. It is very clean, it looked new to me, it's well-kept, and there are no odors. The rooms are nice. We have no complaints about the place at all. I've had no complaints from my father and my sister and my father is out there to visit her almost daily and my sister about four to five times a week, sometimes more. They have quite a few activities for the residents. It's very expensve, but it's worth it."

"The only one that I visited and liked was Penick Village. It was very clean. The staff was really nice. They were very attentive when I came in unannounced. I like that. It wasn't a smelly place. The people seemed to be comfortable there. The room was a nice size. It was equipped with a television. My mother would be able to bring in some personal things that would make it very homey, and I like that. They have an exercise room. They have activities. They have a beautiful outdoor area which you could go out and sit. They have a nice sitting room. It was very nice. They allow you to come in at any time, they don't restrict you a visit. If you wanted to stay overnight, there would be a nice recliner. They were just very accommodating ,and I really like that. "

Only very few have TVs, the ones that were private rooms. The staff was friendly, nice, cordial, and knowledgeable. She seems very interactive with the clients, and helpful in giving information. They had an inside courtyard area and an outside area. They had an all-purpose room, they had a TV, and activities like games, board games, stuff like that."
