"I toured Montgomery Senior Living They were understaffed the day I went. Whoever runs the facility was out sick, so I didn't get to talk to anybody and nobody else got back to me. Somebody who worked there showed me around. It was a nice little place, but I was worried about them being understaffed and Mom is getting to the point where she might go wandering, so I don't think they're equipped for that. It looked like it would be so easy for them to walk out any of the exit doors. They didn't have someone monitoring the door. They were able to show me the rooms, the common area, and the cafeteria. They had a great menu. If they didn't like that, they could replace it with something else. So all that was very nice. The staff were good. They were knowledgeable."

"I toured Integrity - The Hermitage. It was terrible. The grounds were not kept up. Inside, the walls were banged. It was not clean, and it smelled. They were eating on paper plates with plastic forks in the dining hall. It did not look like the place where I wanted my mom to be."

"The Coventry is part of St. Joseph of the Pines Continuing Care Retirement Community. I was told they do not accept potential residents from the community - you have to be part of the buy-in system for independent living with exorbitant up front costs. Good to know. "

"I was in St Joseph of the Pines for rehab. I was in the main building. It was fine except for the restriction of movement. I had PT and OT, but was restricted to my room, which did not help me as far as locomotion. I also did not have access to their PT stairs, which was just outside my door."

"Tara Plantation was nice. They had two separate wings for the dementia unit. It is secure. They had plenty of adequate space, so the residents could go outside if they wanted to. They had a courtyard. It was a lot of space. The facility itself was older, but it was very well-kept. The residents were kept active. "

"My mom is a resident at Autumn Care of Raeford. She has received the best care possible. I am in the facility daily at different times each day. The facility is clean and the staff on her hall are the best! The food is wonderful; the dietary staff has gone above and beyond to make sure she has food that she likes. The Rehab. department has been so patient and kind to her while making sure she receives the therapy she needs. The administrator, Danielle, is always available and her door is always open. She is willing to help in anyway possible. "

"I toured the Autumn Care of Raeford. It was an old facility, but it was clean. They had activities. They stopped what they were doing and gave me a tour right then, and I just walked in. So, they even talked to me about prices and all that stuff. They showed me the shower rooms. They even told me they shower them like three times a week unless we asked them to do it more. If we wanted them to have a shower every day, then that's what they would do. The staff was very friendly. For my aunt's stage, they don't have a single room. They have two people in it, and for two people their rooms were small."

"I did find a place for my dad. It's called Open Arms. It is a small facility. They separate the people that have Alzheimer's from the ones that don't. I love the gardens. They're beautiful. I met several people, going from the lady that administers the places, to some of the nurses and the admission manager, and they were very helpful when I called. They took me around. They showed me three different empty rooms. In general, the people looked content. The facility was clean. It has different rooms that they could go to. They have different set up of rooms, like garden rooms and others were a little more formal. They have the dining room where they go for their three meals and three snacks a day. They have a blackboard, which was huge because a lot of people there don't see well and it had posted all the activities. Every Friday at 3 p.m., they have ice cream. I thought that was rather huge in the sense that it is something for them to look forward to. Also my dad loves ice cream. I like that they have a Facebook page. This place is small, and they have enough staff. Let's say my dad doesn't want to get up or get to go over to lunch or dinner, they will bring his meal to his room. That to me was very important because my dad will refuse to go to eat. I really love the place. "

"this is a wonderful place, the facility is clean and the staff care about what they do.All the services they provide are amazing. It is hard to find a place for a loved one that meets their needs and from what I seen this is the place I want my mom. "

"My relative has been a resident of Hamlet House. Everything has been fine, it's a nice place, she likes it, and she seems happy there. They check on her, make sure she goes to her private doctor, and they take her to bed. They have a place for her to smoke. She has a private room, but a shared bathroom. They remodeled her room, and refurnished her unit, she has brand new furniture, and we take care of the bed linens, and wash her clothes. If she's able, she can wash her own clothes, or she can pay for it. All the doors outside are locked, and they unlock the door for you to come in and go out. The door to the smoking area is unlocked, but fenced in. Everybody has been nice, and everything we came up to them with, they fixed. They have three meals available and come around with snack carts three times a day."
