My husband hasn't been at Magnolia Gardens for very long. But it seems homey and good for people. The staff seems to be nice. All seem to be warm and cooperative. They seem to be more interested in their patients. My husband got one of the smaller apartments. It's clean and it is what he needs. It's got a TV, a nice bed, two dressers, and a nightstand. We bought him a little refrigerator and a coffeemaker, and he's happy with that. It has a chair in there, but we got him a bigger lounge chair. Their food is good. It's not too bad.

Magnolia Gardens was very nice. Everyone was very friendly and it was very conveniently located. The services that they offered were exactly what my mom needed. The staff who gave me the tour was excellent. The rooms looked very nice. Everything was very clean and it did not smell. I saw the dining area and it was very nice, very homey, and very comfortable.

We toured Magnolia Gardens. It was dated. It was a little dark. There wasn't a lot of natural light, or maybe the lighting was not as bright. The rooms were well-sized. I thought they were good sized rooms. The bathrooms were more like walk-in showers. They seemed really nice in that respect. The person that helped us was very nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. The dining area seemed adequate. They had a varied menu. It seemed like they had a lot of activities available. They had just left that morning to go shopping before we got there, so that was encouraging. They go to Walmart once a week. It seemed like the residents were pretty active themselves. It needed better lighting, and it needed to be more organized.

I'm considering Magnolia Gardens because it's not far from my house. It seems quite nice. It's a very active community. All of the memory care people were involved in things. The staff showed me around the facility, showed me the memory care, and gave me the pricing. It is a Medicaid-approved facility. The tour was fine. Everybody was friendly and very informative. I had a list of questions that I presented to them and they were able to answer those questions. They showed me the facility and showed me what the rooms looked like. They answered my questions about the rooms. Is it a separate room or is it a two people room, and what can the resident bring? The facility was clean and they were cleaning when I was there. They didn't have that odor like a lot of places had. Everybody was kind of sitting around and watching television. It was around 10:00 when I went there, and they were getting ready for lunch. I didn't see any activities going on, but I did inquire about them. They have a nice porch. When it's warm, they can sit out on the porch, in the rocking chairs. They have a nice patio and it's fenced all around the back for security reasons. The outside and the patio were very nice and clean and there were nice pieces of furniture out there.

My mother is now living in Magnolia Gardens. It's an older property, however, it is clean and fresh, and the people they are what sold it on us. The staff there is very attentive and very caring and very easy to work with. Plus, the cost is very affordable given the level of care you get there. She has a room by herself, which is fabulous, and it is plenty big enough. Her bathroom is quite large and she has a beautiful view of an interior courtyard, that she loves. She has been very happy there and her activity level has increased significantly. They're very easy to work with, and they let you decorate the room, which is nice. So we were able to put up lots of pictures, rearrange, and bring in some of her things from home and some furnishings. The staff has been very, very helpful with allowing us to personalize the room, as well as to make any updates, or fix anything that needed to be fixed. So they have been extremely easy to work with. She gets three meals a day and she's pleased with the food, plus they have two snacks that they bring you each day. They also have various activities like bingo, they had some singers come back for the holidays, and they just did the Christmas tree decorating. They have a beautiful courtyard in the middle of the property that she likes to go out in, it's got places to sit and it's got a little stream running through it. She gets a fair amount of interaction with some of the other folks there as well as the staff. She loves the staff. The dining area is modest, but it's very accessible and it serves the purpose. It's not extravagant but it does what it needs to. They do a great job considering it's an older property. They are some things that could be updated, and some areas are more up-to-date than others, but the value for your money and the staff make it all worthwhile. In terms of the food, some are better than others.

My mother is in Magnolia Gardens. We chose it because the facilities were very clean, the staff was great and helpful, and they answered all questions promptly and in a timely manner. We're very comfortable. Also, the price seems like it made the most sense. Her room had a very big bathroom, TV, nice-sized bed, and it's very clean and very big. They have parties sometimes, and if you need to go out, you can go out with them shopping. They have outside porches and a nice courtyard. They have some activities, but I would like to see a lot more.

We liked Magnolia Gardens, particularly the area that had the private rooms in the newer wing. It was definitely the nicer part of the facility. The atmosphere was pretty good. The main reason that we have not made a decision to put my mother there is because they don’t have handicapped assisted transportation. She would need transportation in a wheelchair and they don’t have that. I’m actually surprised that they aren’t required to have that if they’re assisted living. They had varied sizes and prices when it comes to the private rooms. They start out at around $2,400 or 2,500 and go up. And, of course, the more you pay, the bigger the room is. The rooms were nice, and they would provide furniture if you wanted it or you could use your own. The dining area seemed quite nice. I had a couple of residents give me very positive feedback about the care.

My mom and dad are in Magnolia Gardens. We chose it because they keep them together and they can afford their rate. People working there treat my parents like family. They are very kind, and they take good care of them. The room is spacious and well maintained. They have activities, I just don't know what they are. My sister is also there, and they take good care of her. So, I put my parents there as well so they can be together. It is pretty and very peaceful. I will recommend them to others. I can't see how my parents can do better than the people who care for them because they are very considerate to them and very kind. The staff is wonderful. However, their rooms need updating.

My mother's been in Magnolia Gardens for four months. It's not really the facility itself but the choice of roommates they've given her. I don't know if they would have known the information about the roommates prior to putting her in with them. I get the impression that they don't really know the people the way they're putting them in the room together. They said my mother's roommate was very quiet, but I happen to know from phone calls from my mother that she yelled when my mother was on the phone with me. She was not nice and she was rather nasty. They seem to be taking good care of her though. I think it's fine and it's clean. The gardens that they have are lovely. They've got several different porches for the residents with rocking chairs and things for their wheelchair, whatever they want to sit in. I like the location of it because it's close to the shopping center on the side road where there's almost no traffic on unless people come in there. So it's very quiet and the people are sitting outside the porch looking at the woods across the street. There are places to walk around the building and around the area. Every time I've been in the rooms, they've been very clean.
