"I went to tour here. I liked the fact that even though it's assisted living, they have apartment-style rooms. So you can do a studio or a 1-bedroom, and they have a kitchenette. It's very clean, very nice, and very warm. The staff who gave the tour was very nice, professional, and courteous. They had a barber or beauty salon, and they also have an in-house theater and restaurant-style dining. The place itself was very clean. We haven't eaten there but what we looked at was very appetizing."

"I have visited Home Mills Retirement Center in the past and was very impressed. The staff has very little turnover. As I recall there are ladies that have been working there for 20 years. Very clean and comfortable."

"My mom is going to stay in Fayetteville Manor. It is a great place. They have all kinds of activities that they do with the residents -- church, singing, exercising, arts and crafts, gardening, and more. Absolutely, I would recommend it. It is only for Alzheimer's and dementia patients; they only have Alzheimer's patients there. "

"My husband moved into The Addison of Fayetteville. It's good and has a homey atmosphere. The staff members have been caring and concerned. They have bingo. My husband's room is adequate and fits his needs right now. He's had some grumbling about when he asks them to do something, and they can be a little slow about doing it."

The Eastover Gardens facility was originally opened in the ’50s as a motor court hotel servicing HWY 301, then the main north-south thoroughfare from Florida to Maine. "I toured the Autumn Care of Raeford. It was an old facility, but it was clean. They had activities. They stopped what they were doing and gave me a tour right then, and I just walked in. So, they even talked to me about prices and all that stuff. They showed me the shower rooms. They even told me they shower them like three times a week unless we asked them to do it more. If we wanted them to have a shower every day, then that's what they would do. The staff was very friendly. For my aunt's stage, they don't have a single room. They have two people in it, and for two people their rooms were small."

"I came for a visit looking for a home for my mother. The staff was extremely helpful and very informative. I left with the knowledge I needed if I decide to go the next step. I highly recommend this facility to anyone searching for long term care. The facility was clean and organized."

"I did find a place for my dad. It's called Open Arms. It is a small facility. They separate the people that have Alzheimer's from the ones that don't. I love the gardens. They're beautiful. I met several people, going from the lady that administers the places, to some of the nurses and the admission manager, and they were very helpful when I called. They took me around. They showed me three different empty rooms. In general, the people looked content. The facility was clean. It has different rooms that they could go to. They have different set up of rooms, like garden rooms and others were a little more formal. They have the dining room where they go for their three meals and three snacks a day. They have a blackboard, which was huge because a lot of people there don't see well and it had posted all the activities. Every Friday at 3 p.m., they have ice cream. I thought that was rather huge in the sense that it is something for them to look forward to. Also my dad loves ice cream. I like that they have a Facebook page. This place is small, and they have enough staff. Let's say my dad doesn't want to get up or get to go over to lunch or dinner, they will bring his meal to his room. That to me was very important because my dad will refuse to go to eat. I really love the place. "

"My mom was a resident of Hope Springs, the staff gave my mom excellent care and the management was always asking me if everything’s was okay. They were so caring and loved her as if she were their own. I highly recommend Hope Springs, mom was able to stay there until the end of her life. I can’t express enough how wonderful they were to her. From the laundry, dietary needs and the special care that she needed at the end, the quality of care was SUPERB! I highly recommend Hope Springs Assisted Living."

"This place is a great place for many reasons for assisted living care. It is an older facility but I'd kept very clean. They take patients for their Dr. Appointment. Also doctor visits on site at certain times. My friend says food is very good and there are between meals snacks. They do their laundry and staff are excellent to work with. The cost is very reasonable for those who can't afford an expensive place. "

"Johnson Better Care wasn't that great because when I walked into the door, it had a smell to it. That turned me off immediately. The staff also didn't show me around. They just asked me questions and they could've been more considerate with someone looking for a place like that. The supervisor should've been more involved in answering my questions and not leave me up to an aide or at the reception. I felt like she should've come out of her office. I didn't receive the hospitality I was looking for. Also, they didn't have enough people on staff to take care of what they needed to take care of. I didn't see many RNs or anything like that. They need more staff for a place of that size. When we walked to the door there were people in wheelchairs smirking and I didn't think that was good. We saw a resident drop a cigarette on her lap and she began to holler as if she was getting burned. We tried to help her get the cigarette out. There was no one that was on hand that could get to her. Also, I don't think they need to allow residents to smoke in the premises especially because they're elderly people. I think it's dangerous to allow them to do that. The residents just sit there. They need activities. "
