"Heritage Place had very nice facilities. They did have the assisted, but I was familiar with the independent living where you had your own room. They prepared your meals, so it was like you were on your own, but they also looked after you. It’s very clean. "

"Mother has been living in Southern Pines for a year now and she has a great apartment. It has two bedrooms and two baths at half the price of what it is here in California. The staff is great. The food is good but the restaurant service is very slow. It takes forever to get served, meaning an hour or an hour and a half. They don't have activities although they do have Tai-chi which is great and my mother is doing it twice a week. "

"We like Carolina Highlands. The rooms are good and large. You have one bedroom to your right and then another one to your left. They have a place for storage, which we like. It was a very good place. Everything was good and spacious. The staff members were very friendly and nice. It was a beautiful place. They have checkers and puzzles. It looks like the residents looked satisfied with what they were doing. Everybody looked pleasant."

"We had an in-person tour of Penick Village. We like its proximity to the town. We like the facility itself, but we can't get a two-bedroom. They provide new appliances. They redecorate every time somebody moves in. The food was good. It's a nice campus with walkways."

"The tour of Belle Meade was fine, and the woman who assisted us was wonderful. But there was so much walking. They had cottages which were outside the main building, so mom had to walk all the way to the end of the building to get to the dining hall. The cottages only had one bedroom and they were so tiny. They had game rooms, a movie theater, a library, and a chapel. The place was very clean. It's just that mom would have to walk a long, long way from her cottage to get to everything. We want her to be able to just walk out of her apartment and have everything nearby."

"We will be moving my mom to Pine Knoll within the month. I liked this community. All the employees were very friendly and it was a very welcoming facility. The room that I saw was very neat and clean, and we were happy with it. I liked their common areas. They had a sanctuary there that we liked, too. They had a library and it was nicely laid out with a couple of sitting areas. They also had outdoor spaces that allowed people to be able to walk the grounds. All of those things were very nice."
