I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom is at Sanford Manor's memory care. Her room is good. She has a bathroom, and she has the room for herself. Everything looks nice and clean. We are happy with that. I love their staff. I have a couple of cell phone numbers from them, and then I have all the numbers of any other contacts I need to talk with there. They're very friendly and very caring. I really liked them right off from the first meeting. I haven't tried their food myself, but I have been there for two meals, and it was fine. They have activities and they play bingo. I have on my phone the monthly schedule of activities that they do. The doctor who is handling her called me personally and gave me an update on her after they first met her. They told me that they would be calling me once a month to give me an update unless something happens in between the time. I have their number as well. We are on a tight budget and she is not eligible for help, and so we're paying for it out of our pocket. However, compared to some of the places that we've visited and seen, it's very fair.

I visited this facility

Everything has been created to make the view appear as if it’s a good establishment but after leaving my parent here I’m in total disagreement as to the bamboozlement of that picture . Removed my parent from this location because of bed sores and over medication by this location staff. Had us thinking he was dying and giving up on life. After taking my father out and not giving I’m all the drugs they prescribed he’s now eating again , walking again , and talking again. Pure shame that this establishment was watching him die based on the over use of drugs that they were giving him causing him to not eat nor drink. Save your family member and don’t bring them here I wouldn’t leave a dead dog in this facility because they’d probably mistreat that.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My uncle has been in Sanford Manor. He is doing well, and he seems to be adjusting to it pretty good. The facility is not new, but it seems nice. They're doing some renovations, and it is adequate for what they've got going on. He is in a section of a building where 35 residents can fit in, but they only have 17 for now. He's in a private room, but they also offer rooms where they have a roommate. They have an events coordinator there, but right now the activities have been really limited because of the whole COVID-19 protocols going on. They have an outdoor area where they can go and play bingo, and some stuff for them to do. It's fenced in, so they can't wander off or anything. They're not doing any trips for the moment, and they're not allowing visitors either, but they do let him call me everytime he wants to talk to me, and he actually calls me every day. They've done a very good job in getting him in quickly. It only took two days to get him accepted and moved in. Every time I call they answer my questions and help me anytime if I need anything. They also schedule him for some doctor's appointments, and they had some doctors come in and visit. It's just the facility is a little outdated, and it's a little dark, but I really think they're working on that. They got a real big cafeteria and a community room where they can sit and watch TV. They got his room scheduled for painting too, so I know they're making some upgrades, and changes to make the place nicer. I'm very satisfied with everything there so far. I haven't had the chance to try their food, but I looked at their menu, and they looked really good. My uncle hasn't complained about it, and he's known to be very picky when it comes to the food that he gets. He loves to eat shrimp, but they don't serve them, so I try to take him to shrimp dinner once a week or so. I know he's paying $3,600 a month for everything, and that seems like a really good value compared to the prices that we were getting from some other facilities.
