"My wife has moved into Brookdale Dickinson Avenue. I thank all the attendees, nurses, and also the managers. Everybody has been very friendly to me. Any way they can help me, they have worked towards trying to make it easy, because this is not an easy thing to move somebody that you've lived with for 58 years. It's not easy moving them out of the house and moving somewhere else where they're locked in because of dementia. I haven't looked at food that closely. I know my wife gets eggs for breakfast. They're pretty well on schedule every time it's for the meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In the dementia department, it's hard to keep them active. They do have a large room and they keep them in there during the daytime. I think they take them out somewhere and they've done that two or three times. It is a clean facility, and they try hard to make everything comfortable for me and also for my wife. When I get ready to leave, one of the attendants is ready to pick her up and take her for a walk, so I can ease on out. The way they operate there, I'd rate them pretty high. I'm well pleased with what they're doing. I'm having to pay all of it myself out of pocket. I feel like it's probably worth what they're charging me, but I got to figure out how to pay for it, too, because I'm not getting any assistance. I understand they don't accept Medicaid. If they could increase the activities during the daytime, that would be my biggest concern. In taking care of my wife from a hygiene standpoint, I think I do an excellent job. I'm impressed with the staff there. Andrea, the manager of their department, goes out of her way to make me and my wife comfortable. I'd just like to holler her name, she is the Clare Bridge program coordinator."
