One half of the Twin Cities, Minneapolis, Minnesota, is a vibrant and diverse community offering an abundance of entertainment opportunities and a wealth of senior-specific resources for its over 42,000 senior residents. Known just as much for its majestic parks and lakes as it is for its unique cultural landmarks, including the Walker Art Center and Minnesota Sculpture Garden, seniors can always find something to do, no matter what their interests are. It’s designed to be a very walkable city, which not only allows seniors with limited access to transportation to maintain a sense of independence in their daily lives, but also supports the Minneapolis Active Living for Seniors initiative, which encourages seniors to keep physically and socially active.
To help seniors discover the most senior-friendly locations around the country, Caring.com conducted a new study, “The Best and Worst Places for Senior Living.” The Caring Senior Living Report analyzes and ranks 300 cities and 50 states on the quality of senior living in that area. The cities were graded using 46 metrics across five categories: Health Care, Senior Living & Housing, Affordability, Quality of life, and Transportation.
