"We toured Sunrise of Roseville. There were 45 or 50 people there for assisted living, and everybody was happy. The apartments were very nice, including the one on the ground floor and the back overlooking some parkland and stuff. It has a very nice two-bedroom, and it seemed like a nice size. Everything looks good about it. There's a refrigerator, but no stove because they provide all the meals. They serve three meals a day, and you can get snacks anytime. Breakfast starts at maybe eight, and you can get all day long. They have different menu specials every day, like lunch, maybe noon to one, and then dinner at 5 to 6, but there's also a snack bar where you can pick up popcorn and cookies and other things, and you can pretty much ask for anything, and they'll be happy to give it to you. We had breakfast there and it was great."

"Brookdale West St. Paul looks like a nice place to call home. It's assisted living. I had no expectations going in but what I saw exceeded what I could have even thought might have been possible. The best thing about it was it was clean and looked like you could furnish your own residency or your own room in a way that you wanted it. You could use your own stuff. The least thing about it was, and it wasn't a big concern of mine, but it was of the other family members, there wasn't any diversity there. They were all old white people and I'm an old white person. There was no diversity and my mother-in-law was 100% Mexican. I think sometimes, being with your own kind, is helpful. I just assumed West St. Paul would have a more diverse population. The staff was very knowledgeable. I think her name was Melanie. She is very knowledgeable. She knew the answers to the questions we had and I did ask her about the diversity. She said it's unfortunate that they just don't have a very diverse population there. I know that there's the availability of free choice of what you might want to eat and when you might want to eat it. It seemed like there was a range of options there. They had decent parking. I peeked into a couple of rooms that were already occupied and it looked like housekeeping does a great job of cleaning and maintaining a sense of order."

The Lodge in Mendota is nestled into wonderful neighborhood just blocks to the Village of Mendota Heights. Large informal seating areas on each level offer places for family, friends and residents to visit and relax. The house offers a quiet atmosphere with just 5 private bedrooms on each floor. All rooms are fully furnished (feel free to bring your own items to decorate). We are very near Friendly Marsh Park and several food and shopping options. The Lodge extends a supportive blend of expert care and comfort to residents and families in a homelike setting. The Lodge has three homes in the southern metro area. Homes range in capacity from 5 to 14 residents, but all are 100% private rooms and provide full service amenities. While the homes are intentionally casual and inviting, each bedroom is equipped with a specialized hospital bed to ensure total comfort and safety for our residents. "My husband has moved into Brookdale Inver Grove Heights. It's a very homey place. It's a smaller facility and I just feel more comfortable there. My husband is getting a lot of care. He has a studio room. There's a bathroom. It's a little smaller because it's a studio, but it is very nice and it is right off the dining room, so we like that. It is close to the people and the living room. The food is excellent. They have a chef there and everything is from scratch. It is very, very good. The place is very clean and neat. The staff are very warm and very kind. They just seem nice. It is very good. They all seem very caring and interested in helping. In terms of activities, they have a lot of things going on."

Our house is located in the heart of the city on a quiet corner, where there are parks for our residents to walk to. Each resident has their own private room, fully furnished, including TV. Laundry is done everyday. The entire home is cleaned daily as well. Meals of choice are prepared for our residents, following any diet restrictions they may have. All meals are prepared and cooked fresh daily. NOTE: We do not allow alcohol, illicit drugs or pork. There is a big TV in our living room area where residents can gather to watch shows and movies, as well as converse and socialize. We provide culturally competent care for all clients. "Our tour at Minnehaha Senior Living was very nice. It was very informative. I thought the actual facility was very homey, nice, and clean. They had a lot to offer, which was nice. The staff was very nice. She was exceptional."

"Abiitan Mill City is my favorite. If I wanted to stay in Minneapolis, I would move there. It is located near the river. The streets are lined with trees. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance. The Guthrie Theater is within walking distance, too. Great transportation is available, from the light rail to buses. The rooms were beautiful with huge windows. They had lovely common spaces, indoors and outdoors. There were lots of arts in the hallways that I found to be very contemporary. There was a lively feeling about the staff and the residents I met. There were many happy people there."

"Mom has a nice 1 bedroom apartment with deck off the back. Great that she has her own space and takes meals in the dining room with friends. I've always enjoyed the food there on they go all out for special events. The staff is so caring and nice. It gives me such comfort that mom is constantly being looked after."

"My mother lived at Oakridge Place. The price was good. You have a choice of doing a full meal plan, one meal a day, or two meals a day. They had wonderful staff there. We visited there. I thought that I was going to be able to have a meal there, but I didn't get to. I was a little late, and they were in the middle of their lunch. If you don't like what's on their menu for the day, you can do an ala carte menu. They could have said, 'Well, we can get you a sandwich quick' since people were still eating in the dining room. They could have done that. I think the staff either forgot or had to continue with the tour because I was late, and she had other things going on. The staff was wonderful. I visited this place two weeks ago, and the person who did the tour was Heather. She is new to that place, but she's very good and helpful. They had a couple of apartments that they were fixing up. After someone leaves a place like that, they thoroughly have to go through it and clean it. Heather did a great job. I was pleased with it. It didn't make a difference that I didn't get a lunch, but I think if they tell you you're going to get lunch, you should get a sandwich or something. They have a lot of activities for the residents. They had a lot of people coming in to sing. Sometimes, during the meal, they had light piano music going on and a lady was playing. It's not a place that I wanted, but it would be a great place for the right person. They were very efficient with everything. The dining room was very clean. The hallways were very clean and kept up well. They had a lot of activities. From experience with my mom being there, they have activities that are geared towards older people like bingo, putting puzzles together, and music. They have a van where they'll take you to the bank or they'll take you where you need to go. My mom was there during COVID the whole time and it doesn't bother her too much because she wasn't used to going out much anyway because she's blind and couldn't see. She had those books where they listened to the books. Those are provided by the Foundation for the Blind and that was her enjoyment for activity. There are good things for the people to do there. Overall (and I based it on what my mother was able to do), they were very efficient with that. They had therapies that would come in if your doctor agreed that you needed that. They had bingo, music, therapy, exercise, and some other types of games."

"We visited Lino Lakes Assisted Living and toured their memory care for my father. We liked the room because it was a decent size for his needs. It's a nice location because it's close to us, as we live in the area. Inside, it was beautiful, big, and didn't have that nursing home smell. They have a lot of room for the residents to eat. They also have music, I think, once a week. The staff who gave the tour was awesome. There are also RNs 24/7, so I like it there. We did a lot of online searches, and all of the places are pretty much the same. It's just a matter of the people, and the people were really kind there. The residents also seem to be nice."

"I love it here at Ecumen Prairie Lodge. I feel safe and sound. The food is great. They are all pretty fantastic people. They are fun to be with and I love them. I don't want to be anywhere else. The place is simple. We have coffee here any time you want it, or juice, and there's plenty of water. They wash our clothes and take good care of us. They take us to different therapies. So far, I love it. They are excellent. They are very kind and very caring."
