"I visited many centers in my search for the best place for my wife. When we got there she didn't even want to go inside. I was afraid that was the beginning of the end and my guilt was magnified. Now, 3 months later, she considers it home and loves it there. She told me on a recent visit that it was nice to have me home. When I told her what a beautiful home she has she simply said"I know I do. The staff, food and facility itself are outstanding. I know I made the right choice. It isn't cheap, but it's worth every penny to me to know that she is happy and well cared for. I can't say enough about the quality of the care she receives."

"I like it a lot. It was clean and very pleasant. Sarah, the person who talked with us, was kind, understanding, and wonderful. She was a loving person. We have two dogs, and she was willing to give us the ground floor and then have a little terrace and open up a gate so we can take them out for their potty trips. I love it. Yesterday, they had tacos, nachos, and a gift shop. It was great."

"Hello Everyone! I am so sorry I haven't written before, but I was on a site and this came up so I thought I would write and say hello. It is coming up to 10 months June 1,2012 that we lost our dear mom Rita Kennedy. If any of you that read this is new, mom was a resident with you for about 6 ? years. She was the little southern bell with attitude, that chain smoked. She had her walker and she ran around there seeing how much she could get herself worked up with the staff. Remember her? Well, I've been meaning to write so many times and just did not get around to it. As much trouble as mom tried to stir up with the staff, she really did end up being happy living there. The last year I would say she was probably as happy as she was ever capable of being. She enjoyed the food, after she got everyone to fix it like she liked it, she enjoyed Dee coming and laying across her bed to chat with her. She had a love/hate relationship I believe with Janelle and Bev and a few others because she did not like to hear the words no coming out of anyone's mouth pertaining to her, but she did like you both very much. I don't think she would of lasted that many years after she had to leave her own home had she of gone anywhere else. Had she not had that freak accident outside while having a cigarette she would probably still be there. My mom had a mind of her own, she was always so independent and moving to assisted living after a few months stay in the nursing home would of been torch-or anywhere she would of moved to. My family and i appreciated the wonderful care mom was given, even when she didn't want it. No one wants to be treated like a child and I really felt like it at times threw no fault of her own she was. We knew it was just mom though. She made some good friends their and she was treated with the utmost respect and I noticed that I guess within the last year of living there, when we'd pick her up to go shopping or out to dinner, even holidays, she started saying I better be getting back home now. She loved all you kind folks if you knew it or not and she was happy living there. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so understanding and loving toward her. We, as her children could sleep better knowing she was getting the best possible care and you would always let us know if she needed anything or having a bad day. You were so helpful to all of us in knowing she was in a safe, clean, friendly place and being well taken care of. I hope if and when my time comes to where I need assistance I can come there. I honestly can't think of a better place to spend my last years. We are forever grateful for your love and care of our dear mother. I miss her so much. Thanks again to you all. Sincerely, Sonja Kennedy "

"The rooms are older and small. The care is moderately good. The biggest complaint is that we purchased new comfortable clothing for him and within a week all but one item we purchased “disappeared” never to be seen again. They also “lost” a sweatshirt that was very dear to him. It is obvious that they randomly distribute clothing to other patients as we often arrived and he was wearing items that were not his own. I would be very wary of this place."

"Abiitan Mill City is my favorite. If I wanted to stay in Minneapolis, I would move there. It is located near the river. The streets are lined with trees. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance. The Guthrie Theater is within walking distance, too. Great transportation is available, from the light rail to buses. The rooms were beautiful with huge windows. They had lovely common spaces, indoors and outdoors. There were lots of arts in the hallways that I found to be very contemporary. There was a lively feeling about the staff and the residents I met. There were many happy people there."

"We went to visit Suite Living of Brooklyn Park and toured for memory care. One of the things that we didn't like about it was that the rooms were way too small. They also have an outdoor area, but it is not well shaded, and there aren't many trees. It seemed clean, though. I don't recall that it smelled funny or anything. The dining room in the memory care is also spacious for the residents' needs. The person who gave the tour was very professional."

"I have found Suite Living of Maple Grove for myself. It's five minutes away from my sister. It's nice. It's one level. It only has 12 residents for assisted living and then 12 residents for memory care. They're very nice and really polite there, and I like that about them, and then I can volunteer there too anytime I want. I can do bingo, and if somebody's sick or doesn't wanna do it, I can do that for them. There's painting, coloring, and games, and all this other fun stuff. It's a lot of fun. I'm so excited. They're very caring and nice to me. The staff member who gave the tour was very nice and outgoing and answered all my questions. She was very polite and considerate. The nurse that came over and talked with me said, "You're a good fit," and she was very polite and kind too. The dining area was very beautiful and very clean. The physical appearance of the facility was perfect."

"The rooms were wonderful, well laid out and surprisingly larger than I imagined they would be. Kitchen and appliances looked exceptional. The lunch was also wonderful and service was great. I certainly did not expect what I encountered at Havenwood. The tour given was outstanding! The staff was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. All questions I had were answered. All the residents I encountered appeared happy and well cared for. The only reason for a 4 star rating, was I noticed some water spotting on the glassware and there appeared to be some notable footprints in some of the common areas. Other than that, it is a wonderful facility and the tour was fantastic!"

"Suite Living Memory Care & Assisted Living of Roseville has 25 rooms, so it's much easier. It seemed like a nice place so it's where my wife decided to go to, but then every place has their problems. There were only three people to take care of all the 25 rooms and do cooking because a bunch of people called in sick. The food's kind of a coin flip, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's just not the greatest. They have the people playing Bingo, different kinds of board games, and Yahtzee. Majority of the staff is pretty good, but some of them are questionable. The room my wife is in suits her right now, but they supposedly have bigger rooms there. She has her bed in there, a table by the side of her bed, a chair, a small refrigerator, a love seat, and a decent-sized bathroom."

"Havenwood Of Richfield has both Senior Living apartments and assisted living as well as memory care. We have visited friends in the senior living apartments, and our mother is in memory care. The senior living apartments.are beautiful, spacious and well laid out. Our mom‘s memory care apartment is also spacious and nicely laid out. Overall, Havenwood Of Richfield is a nice quality retirement community with friendly welcoming staff. For social interaction they have many occasions to meet for visits or activities with others, and have a variety of relaxing common spaces to use. Memory Care is a pleasant place and the staff works hard to be engaging, and supportive of each person’s needs. Our mother has an apartment in memory care that is spacious enough for our family to visit comfortably, enjoy meals in her apartment with her and play games at her dining table. We have even enjoyed ordering food from the kitchen in order to eat with our mother. We’ve had the meals brought to her room, out to the main dining room, and even the patio. (The hamburgers are excellent!) Havenwood of Richfield feels like a real small-town neighborhood house. Havenwood is not so big that you get lost in the facility yet big enough to meet a good variety of people. It is nestled in a quiet neighborhood which is nice for getting out doors for a walk and convenient to a number of stores and restaurants. When you walk out of your room, you definitely feel like you are meeting with the neighbors of your neighborhood. We appreciate that it has the main floor for the two wings of memory care, and has in the center, the lobby with its fireplace and seating areas, the main dining room, formal dining room, back “porch” room, mailboxes, Veterans wall, a small store for residence to pick up essential items or snack and a salon where services like podiatry are provided. We like that mom can be brought across to the other wing and participate in activities with people there which gives her variety and a feeling of being in a whole new place. She is also taken to the second floor chapel/theater room for the bimonthly church service. We like that Havenwood of Richfield is not a tall impersonal high-rise with many floors. Overall, it has very tasteful decor with a homey and welcoming atmosphere. Through seasonal touches of decor, the atmosphere is cheerful and welcoming as a home would be. The moment you walk into Havenwood of Richfield, you are met with a friendly smile. The staff get to know the residents and families by name. This helps us all feel welcome. Either through the suggestion box or direct conversations, they welcome suggestions you might have to make it an even better place to live! Havenwood helps us to feel part of a team who deeply cares about the quality of life for our mother. When residents and their families come to the main lobby they will find a counter set up with coffee, ice water, and fruit always ready and available which promote visits and connections. Fridays are popcorn day! Everyone seems to like that! You will also find a TV on above both sides of the fireplace. On the coffee side they usually have the news and the other side the TV shows beautiful scenery, wildlife or cute animals, etc.. In memory care, they have a main interactive TV which they can do multiple types of programming. They have a second TV above the fireplace that shows beautiful imagery, wildlife, nature, and cute animals. There is a patio outdoor space that gives residents an option to enjoy the sun, flowers, and walk the path. In fact, flowers are all around! At the entrance and front patio, on all three of the resident patios! Often cut flowers are arranged in small bouquets and set out on tables and counters. Flower arranging, and plant care is an activity the residents enjoy. The creative art room in Willow has a Tover interactive system for residents to play together or with their family members. Mom‘s grandson will play some of those games with her and also loves the old typewriter on the desk! As with any new place, give it time and let staff know if there’s anything you’re concerned about. They are eager to help make the transition as smooth as possible. We are very thankful for this community for our mother and for us."
