Our house is located in the heart of the city on a quiet corner, where there are parks for our residents to walk to. Each resident has their own private room, fully furnished, including TV. Laundry is done everyday. The entire home is cleaned daily as well. Meals of choice are prepared for our residents, following any diet restrictions they may have. All meals are prepared and cooked fresh daily. NOTE: We do not allow alcohol, illicit drugs or pork. There is a big TV in our living room area where residents can gather to watch shows and movies, as well as converse and socialize. We provide culturally competent care for all clients. "My father is staying in a place called Sunrise. It is very good for my father. He needs a higher level of service, and it is very accommodating. It is a relatively smaller place, and it is a good fit for him. "

"The rooms are older and small. The care is moderately good. The biggest complaint is that we purchased new comfortable clothing for him and within a week all but one item we purchased “disappeared” never to be seen again. They also “lost” a sweatshirt that was very dear to him. It is obvious that they randomly distribute clothing to other patients as we often arrived and he was wearing items that were not his own. I would be very wary of this place."

"The staff was warm and welcoming. The residents all seemed to be in good spirits and that was quite refreshing. The whole building was clean, colorful, and inviting. I especially enjoyed seeing the different charts and art that was displayed throught the halls, loby, and cafeteria. Those elements provided a genuine home-like nature and tone to the enviorment. "

"My parents moved into Haven Wood in June 2023. Sadly, my mom passed away that fall, and I was initially concerned about how my dad would manage living on his own. Fortunately, he truly loves it at Haven Wood. The facility and rooms are top-notch, and my dad can’t say enough good things about the food — both the quality and variety are excellent. He especially appreciates the willingness of the kitchen staff to accommodate "off-menu" requests, which makes meals feel more personal and enjoyable. While there has been quite a bit of staff turnover, everyone has been exceptionally kind and attentive to my dad, and I’m deeply grateful for the care he’s received."

"We moved into assisted living here. It's a brand-new building and it has so far been just fine. We're just kind of getting settled in. It's wonderful and it's really nice. The apartments are really nice. The staff is very good. The food and dining setup looks OK. They have a gym and craft room. They have an activities director who's doing a survey right now with all the new residents to see what activities they want. They offer daily grocery transportation and one-day-a-week rides to doctors appointments."

"My girlfriend’s mom is in Cornerstone. They have friendly staff and make sure that her mom feels comfortable when she went in not knowing anybody. They are willing to make new people feel welcome, like it is the first day of school, and make sure that they meet everybody, who all give them a warm welcome. They have activities, like games, bingo, and live music. They have a separate room for activities that is not far from the dining area. It has been only three or four weeks since she moved in, so she is still getting used to everything that is going on. They have their own prayer service, a place for massages, and a salon. They offer three meals a day, brunch on Sundays, and mid-afteroon tea, pie, and coffee. "

"Elim Shores is a very nice place. It's moderately priced, and it also has senior waivers, which a lot of places do not have. If a senior runs out of money, they throw you out. This place does not do that. The staff is very nice, caring, helpful, cheerful, and efficient. Even the residents are nice. I live in the East Coast; the Midwest is a much different world. The facility is also clean. Being at Elim Shores seems to work out for my mom, financially, and you just get a sense that it's a good place. "We went to visit Suite Living of Brooklyn Park and toured for memory care. One of the things that we didn't like about it was that the rooms were way too small. They also have an outdoor area, but it is not well shaded, and there aren't many trees. It seemed clean, though. I don't recall that it smelled funny or anything. The dining room in the memory care is also spacious for the residents' needs. The person who gave the tour was very professional."
