Good Life Senior Living is AMAZING! My aunt recently moved here. GREAT STAFF- the staff is warm & welcoming. They treat all the residents with patience and care. Plus they are very attentive. My aunt has received the best care at Good life in comparison to other facilities. The head nurse drove out to the hospital to directly get answers she needed to transfer my aunt. She also helped by providing hospice care options & called hospice care to ensure that everything was arranged prior to my aunts arrival. They had a bed and wheelchair waiting for her. They even hooked up her TV to cable and put on soothing music. EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION- My mother called numerous places and the team at Hood Life Senior Living definitely has the best communication. She was greeted warmly on her first call & they answered all her questions. Whereas other locations didn’t even return her calls (after she left up to 4 messages). GREAT ACTIVITIES- they have had an ice cream social, BINGO, live music, outdoor patio socials (patio is enclosed), communion offerings & more. The staff is so good about bringing all the residents to the events. There are only about 35 rooms, so it feels like family. GREAT FACILITY - they have two wings, each with an enclosed patio, kitchen area, fireplace, sitting area and sunroom. The doors to each wing lock and you need a fob to open. Each side has several nurses working so residents are never needing anything. There is a huge stone fireplace in the entry area with the cafeteria nearby. The team is continually making improvements; if anyone has a concern 8its addressed immediately. This transition from the hospital to hospice could have been very emotionally difficult and taxing. However, Good Life Senior Living was there to help my mom, aunt and family every step of the way. My aunt was miserable at the hospital & never smiled. She even started having paranoid thoughts and was crabby. Since moving here, she has been all smiles; she loves it here!!! Thank you to everyone at Good Life Senior Living!

I'm in a supportive living situation called Good Life Senior Living. It is a brand new place. The food here is excellent. You have your own private suite where you can move in your furniture from home. It is large enough to accommodate a dresser, a desk, a bed, and an easy chair. You also have your own private bath. They do all your laundry onsite so you don't have to worry about doing laundry and all your meals are prepared for you. You can go out with family members and friends if you want to spend some time in the community, and that's what I do on the weekends. Their staff is very friendly. The executive director is a registered nurse. They have nursing staff and nursing assistants. They have a doctor that sees all the patients here as far as medication. It is very comprehensive. There are activity groups, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. You get whatever services you require. They also do tours here. Anyone who has a family member that might be a candidate for their service can get a tour at any time. The staff is very open to showing the place. They have community members come in. The girl scouts were here last night and made some Christmas cookies with some of our residents. They have companion dogs that come in on a regular basis to see the residents. It is a very community-connected program. They have a beauty salon where you can have your hair done. They don't have a gym area, so there are no machines to work on, although they have exercise groups where we use hand weights and elastic bands for strength training. The place is very nice. There are a couple of fireplaces and TV access. They have movies that you can watch, and they make popcorn for the residents. There are plenty of things to do in-house.

About Good Life Senior Living in Hugo, Minnesota
If you are looking for care for your loved one who struggles with Memory, Dementia, or just needs Assisted Care, at Good Life, we offer a smaller, more intimate, and more personal setting for our residents to call home. Being at home is such an important part of achieving a higher level of care. When a resident moves into our community, they become a part of our family. By getting to know each resident and their family individually, we can better tailor the experience, and care, that our residents receive. Here, you’re not just a number, you’re not just another person living here – you’re part of our family.
Assisted Care
Our assisted care suites are designed for 24-hour care with one-on-one service. If you are recovering from an injury, illness, or if your stay is long term or short, we will provide the best care possible to meet your needs.
Each resident has their own private studio style suites that include a full bathroom, low-step showers, grab bars, heated floors, emergency response systems, and ample living area to give the residence the feeling of independence as possible.
We work closely with your primary health care physician to ensure that your care is on track to help you regain or maintain your independence. We will also provide transportation to and from appointments, laundry, weekly housekeeping, shower assistance, personal hygiene, and medication administration. Three home-cooked meals are provided every day, eat in our private dining room, or in your own suite... although we do encourage eating in the dining room to create a family atmosphere.
It is important to hold scheduled and unscheduled activity programs, and these are provided in the care suites every day to help maintain the residents spirit and well being. Our activity program is a very important part of what we do. Each day, you’ll find staff visiting with residents, playing cards, reminiscing, and much more. Many of our activities in the Assisted Care Suites are designed for the resident's abilities.
Memory Care
Our memory and dementia care community provides assistance for seniors with memory loss issues. This special residence is designed to care exclusively for residents with Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of memory impairments. Close supervision is provided 24 hours a day in a secure, friendly, residential atmosphere.
One of the best advantages of living in our community is the care of our residents and the support we give to their families. Supportive services are available 24 hours a day, to meet scheduled and unscheduled needs, in a way that promotes maximum dignity and independence for each resident and involves the resident’s family, neighbors, and friends.
We take a forward look at how personal and health-related services are offered to our resident’s. Because we understand that no two people are alike in their needs, we have created levels of service to better serve our residents. With each level, residents needs are assessed by our Registered Nurse and Program Coordinator to determine with the family which levels best suits their needs. We take the time to get to know your family member as a person. Both personal and health-related services are offered to our residents to help them stay as independent as possible, for as long as possible.
