My mother has been staying at Gable Pines for two months now. It's very clean. They were professional during the interview process. My mother is in a studio apartment, and the room was clean. No furniture is provided, though. They have lots of activities, and they have a calendar, but my mother did not attend any activities. My mother thinks the food is OK. The staff is very good. They could have interacted more with my mom a week after she moved in. She was overwhelmed when she moved in with all the information coming at her, so I would have wished they would have interacted with her not just the first day or two, but maybe once or twice in the first week. They just interacted with her the first couple of days, and then after that, no interaction.

I visited the independent living of Gable Pines. The staff was very informative and were very nice. They showed me properties that fit what I was looking for. I asked if there was a washer and dryer in any of the units and they showed me a unit with a washer and dryer. They were very informative, as far as giving me information about the amenities that they had. I asked about the garage parking and they were very helpful and respectful about it. They were having live entertainment come in and even asked if I wanted to stay. I didn't have the time to stay, but I liked that. They showed me the library, their movie room, and how they were set up. They offer a lot of activities so I was very impressed by it. The only thing that I wish they would have had was an indoor pool but they said there's a YMCA located not far from there. The dining area was very nice. They have a formal one that the residents can use if they have their family over. Then they also have a more casual one for breakfast and lunch. It comes with a continental breakfast every day and one other meal.

Gable Pines seemed really good to me. My tour was excellent. I would have definitely chosen that place. They showed me around, but it was mostly for memory care. The only thing I didn't like was that it was in the basement. It was a bit cold in there temperature wise. Otherwise, it was good. It was very clean and very nice. The person who showed us around was great. The activities seemed good, and there were caregivers with the residents in the activity room.

My mom stayed at Gable Pines at Vadnais Heights. She likes the physical layout of the room. We were really satisfied with the room. We mostly dealt with the administrative staff, and they were fine. They told us we could move in by Monday, and we did, but they just told us that they weren't prepared for my mom and that they didn't have a care plan. We can't figure out why they had us move in if they weren't ready to take care of her. My mom moved in Monday, and she died Thursday evening. There was family, mostly with her. My mom didn't do anything with any of their programs. She's at the point where she had to be wheeled out in a wheelchair, and they never came to help or anything. The food was good. We liked it. What I saw was a cafeteria. Maybe they should have better communication. The nurse would come down if we called her, but we don't think anybody ever checked in on her when we weren't there. So they need to be more organized when they're moving somebody in.

Gable Pines at Vadnais Heights was a really beautiful place. I liked it a lot. It's laid out nicely and it's a very upscale type of place. It's a little pricier. One thing about that place that's better than a lot of other places was they told us that the price this year, 2023, is for life. The facility is well thought out. The rooms are gorgeous. The setting is quite nice. They have three or four courtyards and the main courtyard has these big rocks with water coming down them. The security is intense there. When I got out and I wanted to get back into the main building, I had to wait for somebody to let me in. That can be good and bad because, if you have an emergency and you need to get to the bathroom, that could be a negative, but they're doing this to protect the residents there, and I respect that. They've got these beautiful ceilings that have soffits. It's architecturally very pleasing to the eye. The rooms were clean and seemed bigger to me than some of the facilities, but you have to bring all your own stuff. The gal, Kendra, interviewed me and wanted to know all about my husband. They want to get to know who they're bringing into their facility. So, I spoke at great length about him and there was a lot of compassion there. I thought it was a very good interview. We did not eat there, but she sent my friend and me back with a little cheesecake. She also gave me a book and it was very good. This is something that I think all these places should do. The book was called "Creating Moments of Joy", and what it does is it tells caregivers how to handle their loved ones, and I've learned a lot from that.

I toured Gable Pines. It was an awesome place. The staff was very awesome. Lily did a great job. This whole facility is beautiful and awesome, but it was just way too expensive. I truly enjoyed that place. It looked like the staff and the facility was well organized. The dining room was beautiful. It was restaurant-style and quite classy. It was just very clean, and that's what I was mainly looking for cleanliness. They had nice-sized rooms. She did show us two. There was one room that she showed and it didn't smell good. The first one was fine, but for the second one, we couldn't stay there long. Overall, the room space was large. They did have an exercise facility and a laundry room.

We toured Gable Pines. The staff were excellent. The rooms were very cozy and comfortable. It seemed like there was a lot of room. The residents seemed happy, and people were visiting and talking. The layout seemed pretty nice. I thought it was good. I would live there. They had a beauty salon and an area where there was a piano, an organ, or something that they play during the day, which was pretty. They had a little coffee shop, too.

My wife and I are both living in Gable Pines at Vadnais Heights. She is in memory care area while I'm in the independent living. In my opinion, the rent is very high. The staff in the memory care is shorthanded and their director is very seldom around The staff here in the independent living is nice. I appreciate that they're accommodating. It seems like each department operates independently. The nurses don't have to report to anybody so there's no accountability for the conflict of employees. They have a new manager now though, which hopefully would help. My wife's room is pretty nice. She got a one-bedroom that has a den area for where her bedroom is. It's on the first floor so her view is pretty fair. The food in the memory care is bad. They ship it downstairs to the first floor, however by the moment it gets there it's already cold or lukewarm (even after they try to keep it hot). Plus, they only get one meal choice there. On the other hand, I have my own one-bedroom apartment, and it's very sufficient. I think it's going to work out well for me.

I went to look at Gable Pines. Out of all the places I visited, the staff was really engaged and wanted to find a way to make it work for our family. They have a movie theater and a walking trail. The apartments didn't feel cramped, even if they were the smaller ones. They had slightly higher ceilings. They had a game room and a dining room. The menu seemed really nice. Even the residents there seemed friendly. Upstairs, they have like a patio area where you can sit out there and look over a wooded area behind it.

I like the community feeling at Gable Pines. I like the room layouts, I like the availability of rooms with balconies or patios, and I like the staff. There were just many different attractive venues available within the building itself. We looked at an independent living room. They have a full kitchen in the unit. The person who showed me around was knowledgeable, pleasant, courteous, and paid attention to our needs. They have many activities.

I went to Gable Pines. The woman who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and very helpful. We got to see a lot of it. I was very impressed with the fact that they had someone there to help if you wanted to do some artistic things. There was also a woman who leads exercises and things like that. I was very impressed with the fact that they had services like that readily available for people. We saw just one of the units because that was all that they could show us. It was the normal kind of thing that you find in a lot of senior housing. It had a walking path, which was very nice. She gave us some soup that they had fixed, which we took home. We could have eaten there, but we didn't want to. They have a chef on-staff that actually fixes the food, which I was very impressed with.

Gable Pines is a very high quality community. It's got beautiful surroundings, and the staff is very attentive to their residents. My mother-in-law is in the memory care, and they work very hard at making sure that all the residents are included in activities. They have a wide variety of activities every day. It's very clean, and it has a very caring environment. Food is also very nice.

Gable Pines was a very nice place. It was beautiful and the people were really kind and very friendly. Not only the staff but the residents as well. They've got all the amenities and it's clean. It's just more expensive and they do not have the availability of a two-bedroom apartment that my parents need.

We went to Gable Pines. It's only six years old, so it's a very nice and it's a beautiful facility as well. They were friendly. The rooms were very similar in size to some of the other places, they have the studio and we also looked at one and two-bedroom apartments, they were all extremely nice. You could get a big one like a two-bedroom, it had a big kitchen also, but that wasn't really what we were looking for. The dining area was very nice, and they have a chef who makes food fresh every day. It's very well kept up. They do include Wi-fi, cable, and phone service is included in the price of the room.

The Gable Pines facilities were terrific. The apartments were beautiful, the common areas there were great. They had an active activities coordinator and functions, and it seemed like they had a lot of active residents. The person that took me on the tour was very helpful and was terrific. There's a library and a sort of a chapel space, like a worship/library space, it's wonderful. It felt very homey and they have nicer amenities than the other place I toured.

We looked at a couple of rooms at Gable Pines. They were really neat and clean, and some of them had balconies, which was nice. They also had a nice walking path, they had a lot of activities, a big, huge arts and crafts room, Bible studies, and a nice movie theater room. They had lounge areas where he could play games and do puzzles. The person who gave the tour was good. They answered all the questions, showed us all the different amenities, and were very informative and helpful. They sent us home with a couple of cookies.

My parents have moved into Gable Pines at Vadnais Heights. The staff members are very friendly. The food is phenomenal. They have a great walking path for my parents to get outside, and there's a patio space. The room is great, it's almost a thousand square feet, and it's a two-bedroom. The ceilings are very tall, it has ten-foot ceilings, so it is nice and light inside. I haven't come in contact with a lot of staff, but the staff members that I have been in contact with have been informative, friendly, and helpful. The dining room looks like a restaurant; it's great. The food is all homemade and it's really good. Everything is clean. They have housekeeping once a week. The common areas are all clean. They have a number of activities. They have bridge club and a woodworking shop. This week, they have a bus going out to a shopping mall. From what we saw in talking with other locations, I thought it was a good value for the money. It's certainly still not cheap by any means, but it was less expensive than some of the others, and we felt this was a better option. There is no swimming pool, but my parents wouldn't have used it anyway. There is a gym for them to work out. My parents haven't really participated in activities, but they have only been there for a little bit.

What I like best about Gable Pines was the fact that my husband has his own bathroom in his room. There's a little section of the room that is set-off; then there's his bed, a dresser, and an end table. There are two closets and a room for a sofa and chair with a lamp; then the bathroom with a shower. The other two places we looked at, you had to go down the hall to a bathroom or to a shower. At Gable Pines, even if they need assistance with showers, they don't have to walk down the hall to take a shower. That was a really good selling point. His room also looks out on a fenced in tiny park, and it has a circular cement path. Then he goes outside and takes walks with his walker every day. He's just right near the dining room too, which is handy for him. There's varying degrees of care on the memory care floor as well. There's been some staff turnover (as most places must have been), but we have some really good people working down there. I just really hope they stay. They're very caring people. They had a really good activities gal, who was young and really energetic, but then she left. They just hired a new one. Usually, they have bingo and live music in the memory care area, once every couple of weeks. There are options and people are participating with the various activities they have.

Gable Pines was very nice. They just didn't have all the activities that the other places have. I'm into exercising and stuff like that, and they're starting to do more with their exercise groups now that COVID is lifting a little bit. As you enter the building, there's a large gathering room, like a living room place where you could talk with your family when they come. It is also for residents to gather to chat and stuff like that. It just didn't have the same vibe for me that the others had. The location was quiet and nice. It's in a residential neighborhood, which is nice. They don't have the public transportation nearby. They have a bus transportation that seemed to be quite adequate. They take people shopping and on Sundays they take them to church. The two-bedroom apartment had washers and dryers, and it was quite nice. They didn't have the big solarium on the rooftop with the outdoor patio, but they had more things at ground level. The dining area seemed nice. They had the chef come and talk to me, and then they provided me with a meal. It was like a hotdog and some coleslaw; it was OK. It just didn't give me an adequate example of what they might serve. They had a nice library, and they're going to start having a book club. They had a schedule for people for exercise with their in-house physical therapist assistant. They had a bible study and things like that. It was a little further away from my daughter's home and from my church, so that was definitely a drawback. I like the nice peaceful setting that it was in, but you don't have the amenities like the other place. It's in a residential area. For people that want that sort of environment, it was good. It wasn't quite the environment that I was looking for. The staff was very nice and she followed up with me. She was quite enthusiastic about the place and certainly gave a good presentation.

I was very pleased with Jody at Gable Pines, and she gave me a wonderful tour. It was thorough, the nature of the information that she shared regarding the care, the staff, safety, food service, and the activities was great, and gave me lots of confidence across the board. The facility is beautiful, warm, and inviting, and what I noticed at Gable Pines was the residents were out in various areas, socializing, eating, and moving around. They looked comfortable and engaged. The only downside is that there is no skilled nursing transitional care/ long-term care other than memory care, and we wouldn't be able to choose that because we would want a seamless transition from one assisted living to another. That was the only downside for us, but we love the facility and the people. The rooms were beautiful, they were spacious, and very well set up for somebody in a walker like my dad, and just really like a home. They served us a meal, we ate it, it was terrific, and the menus that we saw were terrific.

My mom is in Gable Pines, and it is absolutely wonderful. The staff is just so fabulous, caring, and genuine. Her experience has been wonderful, and our experience before she even moved in was really wonderful. They're an amazing staff. Because of COVID, she has to isolate in her apartment for 10-14 days. They've been bringing her food into her apartment, and the food is fine. They have games, bingo, and movies. They also have an activities director who does things with them.

Gable Pines has all various levels of care included in the community and my father-in-law is now in the independent living part of it. It's a gorgeous and beautiful place, and it's only a couple of years old. Their apartments are really nice and a decent size for one person. Because of the Corona virus they were quarantined so we're not able to see them but that's something everybody is facing. The concern I have with the staff is that if your loved one needs skilled nursing, they don't have that there. They have staff members that are trained but not certified. They also have a nurse there all the time. My father-in-law seems to like the food, but they're not eating in the dining room but only in their rooms at this time. They have a beautiful dining room, big beautiful library, a lot of the amenities are nice once they'll be able to use them again. I think that the value for the money is right up there with everyone else.

The staff are so kind and compassionate. They work so hard to meet the needs of my family members. From health care needs to entertainment to fun projects even to finding ways to make things fun during a pandemic. Anything we have had a need they have been quick to respond. My family members say they feel cared for, cared about, safe and respected. They love living at Gable Pines and that means the world to me.

So far my father's care at Gable Pines is OK, but we can't get in there as of now because of COVID-19. They have activities for the residents there and the staff was very good. They have a puzzle area and a workout room. Their basic services are good, but their extra services are expensive. His room is a studio, so it's not very big compared to what he had.

Gable Pines was our favorite. They had a lot of activities and craft rooms. The chef came out and met us and told us about their food there. I liked everything about it. The rooms were big and open enough for aging people, beautiful, bright, and well cared for. They had a lot of different types of rooms, and they're well done. The staff was very caring, kind, and personable.

My friends moved into Gable Pines. The atmosphere is good. It's a big place, and I've been very impressed with the people there. Their apartment is big, and it had two bedrooms, two bathrooms. They've been happy with the food. The staff is very responsive, accommodating, very willing to help people find the rooms that the people need, and really easy to work with. Everything is very clean and bright, but they are more expensive than some of the others I viewed.

I toured the entire amazing Gable Pines. People seemed happy, and I was impressed with the facility. It was clean, new, well-kept, and there wasnt anything out of place or odd. The care people were good, and there was enough staff visible and made me feell good. There was very good separation between the memory care and the assisted living. The apartments were more adequately sized for parents coming out of their communities, so it was more appealing to me for their easy transition. The food looked and smelled good.

DO NOT SEND ANYONE HERE who requires ANY type of assistance from aides or staff. Constantly understaffed and leaving residents with unanswered call buttons for extended periods of time, bordering on neglect in my opinion. Aides can regularly be seen working double shifts and caring for residents on multiple floors. If only we found a good nursing home instead!

Gable Pines was bigger and a little bit further from me, but it seemed pretty comparable to where my mother is at. I went there first and it was a little overwhelming as far as the size, which was the main thing I didn't like about it. For somebody that's my mom's age, she probably would have had a hard time finding her way around. As far as their menu and their activities, it was really comparable to where she's at. The staff was very helpful and informative, and the facility seemed really nice other than the size.

Gable Pines was a very nice facility and had everything that we needed. Our only problem is that it felt too large and overwhelming, so there would be too much walking from point A to point B. They have really nice apartments too. I saw the fitness room and arts and crafts room. I would recommend them.

Gable Pines looked good, and the rooms looked fine. The food was good but not extraordinary and served at the table. The staff was very friendly and mostly very upbeat and kind.

Gable Pines was quite nice and new. The programs that they have are quite favorable. It had a nice theater and nice views. We were attracted to the 2-bedroom plan because we thought we could use the other room as a guest room or a computer room. There were plenty of things to do like going to different places. The dining room looked like a nice area, and I don't think there were assisted living in the dining area of the independent living. There was a private room that we could use if we have friends or relatives dining with us. The apartments had kitchens, dining tables, and showers.

Gable Pines was very nice, new, and very attractive. They had activity areas like a craft room and somebody in charge of projects. It?s the kind of thing that would have appealed to me but not necessarily to my ex-husband. They have a theme in their decorating so the pictures emphasize that. The dining area and the rooms looked fresh and nicely decorated. The only thing was that it was not in a good location for us.
