"To say this community is impeccable and amazing is an understatement. My mother previously lived here some years ago, so I was already familiar with the place. I do not have a single ounce of negativity to spill. From the staff to the grounds, to the amenities, to the accommodations and beyond, I am extremely satisfied with my experience here. You can't beat the location; I have everything I need here, and within walking distance if need be. Everyone here is always willing to help and lend a hand - I remember having contacting Rachael, the Executive Director, asking if my upcoming unit had a microwave included or if I needed to bring my own - Upon move in, I discovered that they installed a brand new microwave for me! The grounds are always well maintained. The servers in the morning, and the housekeeping team do their jobs to the best of their ability and always with a smile. They are all so full of life and it is very evident to me that this company truly cares about its employees and their residents - they go above and beyond to make you feel warm, welcomed, valued and included. I love how there are trees right in front of my patio - it provides privacy, and it is a beautiful touch. A community that allows dogs was very important to me when searching for a place, and I'm happy that my little Alexander is as joyful as I am in a community like this. The Maintenance Director, Luis, is everywhere at once and that man will go to the ends of the earth of make sure that a job is done to the best quality and done right, as well as make sure that all of the residents are satisfied. I remember him coming to my home in his personal vehicle, prior to me moving in, so that I could get the paperwork done and I have to hand it to Rachael to keeping in consistent contact with me from the start to now, no matter the matter at hand or issue, and making sure that I am well taken care of. Kudos to the company for truly having their residents and employees within their best interests and intentions - it really shows here. You won't be disappointed with this place!"

"I toured Gable Pines. They can't take my wife because she is non-ambulatory. It's a fine place and the staff was very helpful. I didn't look at a room because we didn't get that far when they found out what kind of care my wife would need, but that's okay. The dining area was nice."

"I toured Ecumen Seasons at Maplewood. It has a continuum of care, in other words, if I can manage it in independent living, I can and if I need more help, I can add more services. So, it's not either or. It's more flexible in terms of what services I have to take. Plus, I can stay in the same unit even if I need to add care. I don't have to move to another section of the building if I go from independent to assisted living. It's a beautiful place. There's a huge walking path out in front and they have a walking club. And in the summer I like to walk. But the continuum of care was the biggest for me in my choice. They have an opening now, but I have to get my house cleaned out. So they said that they'll have openings in the fall. They know I'm coming then. The staff are caring and helpful."

"My mother lived at Oakridge Place. The price was good. You have a choice of doing a full meal plan, one meal a day, or two meals a day. They had wonderful staff there. We visited there. I thought that I was going to be able to have a meal there, but I didn't get to. I was a little late, and they were in the middle of their lunch. If you don't like what's on their menu for the day, you can do an ala carte menu. They could have said, 'Well, we can get you a sandwich quick' since people were still eating in the dining room. They could have done that. I think the staff either forgot or had to continue with the tour because I was late, and she had other things going on. The staff was wonderful. I visited this place two weeks ago, and the person who did the tour was Heather. She is new to that place, but she's very good and helpful. They had a couple of apartments that they were fixing up. After someone leaves a place like that, they thoroughly have to go through it and clean it. Heather did a great job. I was pleased with it. It didn't make a difference that I didn't get a lunch, but I think if they tell you you're going to get lunch, you should get a sandwich or something. They have a lot of activities for the residents. They had a lot of people coming in to sing. Sometimes, during the meal, they had light piano music going on and a lady was playing. It's not a place that I wanted, but it would be a great place for the right person. They were very efficient with everything. The dining room was very clean. The hallways were very clean and kept up well. They had a lot of activities. From experience with my mom being there, they have activities that are geared towards older people like bingo, putting puzzles together, and music. They have a van where they'll take you to the bank or they'll take you where you need to go. My mom was there during COVID the whole time and it doesn't bother her too much because she wasn't used to going out much anyway because she's blind and couldn't see. She had those books where they listened to the books. Those are provided by the Foundation for the Blind and that was her enjoyment for activity. There are good things for the people to do there. Overall (and I based it on what my mother was able to do), they were very efficient with that. They had therapies that would come in if your doctor agreed that you needed that. They had bingo, music, therapy, exercise, and some other types of games."

"My mom will move into Oakdale Commons. When my mom and I were there, she just fell in love with the apartments because they had a nice little patio, a walk-in shower, and it had its own washer and dryer. They had a gym. They also had a conference room. They also had a kitchen area, where you could have guests come over and stay. Outside, they have a nice little area where you can sit and gather, and they have a gas fireplace out there. They also had little garden plots where you could plant tomatoes or flowers. Another thing that my mom liked was underground parking. The lady who gave us a tour went out of her way for us, and she was very friendly. I liked her a lot."

"I visited Oakland Assisted Living. I thought it was very nice but I don't know if I'm in denial but I didn't think it was for me because all my friends are in Wright County and we're getting to the point where none of us drive. I did like it though and if I got drastically ill I would go there. Being a person of independence I had a little qualms about sharing a bathroom but it was only two people in one bathroom so I do believe it would be workable, otherwise, that was a beautiful home. Beautiful setting. Very nice."

"The Ecumen Parmly (Margaret S Parmly) is actually a very wonderful place, very clean, friendly, and nice. They do have assisted living, and we are trying to get my mother in there. She went in there Thursday last week, and the people working there were very friendly. It is very clean and very beautiful. It’s a large facility, but each section has its own wing. They have entertainers that come in, and they have TVs. The atmosphere was very good. The room is not that bad; they have like six people in there and each has plenty of room. She has her own bathroom, TV, a chair, and a table. She gets assistance getting to the wheelchair and then to the bathroom. They come very quickly when she pushes the button, and then the person that comes in would do wound care. They are very good, and they listen to her. "

"Abiitan Mill City is my favorite. If I wanted to stay in Minneapolis, I would move there. It is located near the river. The streets are lined with trees. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance. The Guthrie Theater is within walking distance, too. Great transportation is available, from the light rail to buses. The rooms were beautiful with huge windows. They had lovely common spaces, indoors and outdoors. There were lots of arts in the hallways that I found to be very contemporary. There was a lively feeling about the staff and the residents I met. There were many happy people there."

"I toured Copperfield Hill and I saw that it was a nice place to live if you would need assistive care or health care. The rooms were nice. They have two separate rooms for people so they don't have to share a room, they have their own separate rooms but they share a living area. They have like a little kitchenette and a sitting area. Then they showed me where they eat and where they have their activities and where they play games. It's not a huge place or anything, so you walk in and there's the sitting area. They have a chapel there, and they were doing arts at the time. I liked the area, it was a nice-looking room with a bed and a dresser."

"We chose Covenant Living of Golden Valley. We liked how happy everyone was, the involvement of people in the community, and the interactions that people had with each other. The residents were just interactive, happy, and welcoming. It just depends which room you get. Some have laundry, some don't, and it depends on the size of the room. But one thing about them, there's a buy-in option, but you can redecorate your room how you want it before you move in."

"My Mother was in Memory Care for 4 years before she passed. Alzheimer's can change a person and the staff were already ready to help, distract and ensure her comfort and safety. I genuinely felt that there were staff there that really cared about her as a person. "Minnesota Nice" is not a myth!"

"I liked Havenwood of Richfield really well. I just didn't like it being on the other side of the river from me. The rooms were quite spacious, but the kitchens were probably a third of what the apartment was. For a one-bedroom apartment, it is kind of ridiculous to have the kitchen be so huge when they're providing two meals a day. I just felt that they could have had more living space. The living room/dining area was tiny. There was no living space. It's all kitchen. Everything was clean, neat, and well-organized. The staff was very friendly. Their social activities director's dad lived there. I think that's a pretty awesome statement that the staff would want or have their family members living there."

"Knollwood Place Apartments were very good and excellent. The staff and people were extremely friendly. We felt very welcomed, and the apartment was what we were looking for and had just been redone. They had a long list of activities and served meals. The place and the hallways were clean. They had different classes if you needed them. The rooms were adequate in size."
