About Wellstead Senior Living Lodge in Rogers, Minnesota

Wellstead Senior Living Place and Lodge is a retirement community that provides multiple levels of care, from independent and assisted living to memory care and respite. It's located 20 miles from downtown Minneapolis in the small city of Rogers. The city itself offers plenty of small stores and restaurants for a day out with family, and nearby access to major highways.

Seniors in assisted living receive as much help as they need with personal tasks and activities, such as hygiene or medication reminders, and staff are available to provide transportation to appointments. Memory care residents benefit from the Bridge to Rediscovery program with specially trained staff to ensure they receive proper care while staying active and engaged.

Amenities at Wellstead Senior Living Place include a beauty salon and spa room with a senior-friendly spa tub, a secure outdoor area with gardening spaces, physical therapy, an in-house doctor and lifestyle programs. Seniors can get online and stay in touch with friends and family in the library, participate in religious services and go on regular social outings.

I visited this facility

We like The Wellstead but they don't have any rooms with decks. That's the only deal-breaker. The facility was spacious, it was light, they have lots of good amenities and the staff was nice. It's kind of strange where they have like a big ballroom where they have their Christmas party and stuff. But they rent it out for people to have receptions, which seemed weird. But the place was beautiful and my mom liked that it was a kind of wildlife setting as opposed to being in the middle of the city. Their rooms were good, but they weren't great. We saw a 2-bedroom, but it's not as homey as the other place we toured. But they were spacious, had good amenities in the rooms, updated and everything, there's just nothing special about them. They have a full kitchen. The 1-bedrooms did not have laundry or a washer and dryer in the rooms. They have a pub, library, and a game room. Their dining area does not have a menu, it's more like "Here's what we're serving today", and gave you three or four choices. It has a chapel, hair salon, and laundry rooms on the floors for rooms that didn't have them in there. They're great, I just think they could have made better use of what they have available.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We are now in The Wellstead. It is very good. Everything is fine and gorgeous. We don't have any complaints. It's beautiful building with beautiful carpeting and woodwork. The food is good. There are too many activities, so if you’re bored, blame yourself. It is newer building with newer facilities. They have a beautiful gym plus more services than other places we saw.

The other place that we looked at was The Wellstead. It was a phenomenal facility. The décor was a bit more upscale, which my parents preferred, but they didn’t have a two-bedroom available at the time. I was very impressed with this community, they just didn’t have openings. In the end, they were farther away from my home. The Wellstead has dining options, it is bigger, and they have more robust entertainment options. It is also closer to my home.

The Wellstead was great and really nice. I was ready to move in myself. The people were friendly and helpful. We had a full tour.

The staff was very knowledgeable and very nice at The Wellstead. The facility was very clean. The rooms were gorgeous. They have real plan in place to keep residents up and moving. The facility was bigger, so it was not as personal but still very nice. All of the people seemed to be really happy, clean, and smell good. They had many activities, physical therapists, speech therapists, and counselors.

Mom and Dad want to move to The Wellstead and they really didn't want to go anywhere else. They had put a deposit there to get onto their waiting list. It seemed like a really nice place. They have a lot of stuff right there so that my parents don't have to go anywhere. They have community areas and they're better than what they have here. Also the staff there was friendly.

I visited this facility

The Wellstead is a relatively nearby facility. It's seems very confined. The person that we were supposed to meet wasn’t there, but somebody else showed us one apartment. Their apartment has two bedrooms, but the living room or what they call the family room and kitchen were very bland and it just didn’t appeal to us. I didn’t saw anybody in the activity room. It was a large facility, but we didn’t really see any people.

I thought Wellstead was really nice because it has a very independent and apartment-like feeling. It didn't feel like a nursing home. It's like the residents were in their own place. The rooms were very nice. They had a really nice-sized bedroom, a living room kitchen combination, and a good-sized bathroom. So far the staff that I had met there were very good. A lot of people around the area had a lot of positive feedback from people in the community that have worked there or had friends work there. There's a lot of insider information that made you feel a little bit better about it. My dad is going to move in there. It's closer to my home, too.
