"I looked at three apartments at Havenwood of Minnetonka. I visited primarily for independent living, but I was looking for continuous care going forward. For me, it's in a very good location. There's a grocery store, there's a bank, there's a hardware store, and there are restaurants. It's just very, very convenient for me who is accustomed to living on the western edge of Minneapolis. The first impression when you walk in is that it is a new building. It's very clean and it's tastefully decorated in the public areas. The apartments are smaller compared to what I'm living in now, but I'm ready to accept that in the future. I only met with two people. I met with one who gave me the tour and then the gal who was at the front desk. They're very accommodating and answered all my questions, plus they gave me more information, not just what I'd asked about."

"My wife stayed at Abiitan Mill City. They helped with all sorts of services, like getting her dressed, going to the bathroom, and bringing food. They have all sorts of other things that you could do and other programs. They're pretty much complete, and they've got a nice restaurant on the first floor. They're all very pleasant people. My wife had a studio apartment. All it had was a refrigerator, bath, and toilet. It's the smallest one they had, and it was perfectly fine. They kept it clean and they came in maybe once or twice a week. The food was OK. They advertise it as restaurant quality; 50% of it was and the other 50% wasn't. The staff were wonderful. They're all good and caring. They were prompt, and if you need help, they will get there fast. They were very good. They got a lot of activities."

"I toured Elim Shores. I like the price of the unit. And it was located by a lake, so that was another plus for me. It also had the capability of having assisted living, and you would stay in your own unit, and not move, so it has services where you live. Also, they would take a program in Minnesota called elderly waiver. They have three meals a day. You have the option of buying a meal plan. You didn't have to buy all three meals. You could pay as you go or buy a reduced ticket group. I like the availability of meals and I like the availability of assisted living and elderly waivers. As life changes for me, I will probably need all of those. They have underground garage parking, which is ideal in Minnesota. There's a beauty shop, and of course, crafts and church services, so all of that was appealing. They have units that view the lake. If financially you could afford them, then you could live there. I had a taste of their barbecue, and it was okay. They have a dock, so those who would like to fish that would be available. They were planning to buy a pontoon, so there would be rides in the water. I think they have a bus and take people out in outings."

"The staff at Edina Park Plaza was really great. The woman that showed us around was really warm, helpful, and very detailed. We had lunch beforehand; she set that up for us so we could try the dining facility. We saw several different apartments, and they were updated. They have nice kitchens, and it kind of have a little bit more like a hotel feel than like a home feel. I like the updated apartments. "

"I went and visited Wellstead of Rogers. I like it very much and also put down money for a reservation for my aunt. I met with their person, and they’re working with us. The apartments are very accommodating and a good size. Everything is clean and in top-notch condition, and it’s a lovely facility. They have many activities from occupational to physical therapy. They have a meeting time where they do current events. I was very impressed with the whole program and the staff; they were very friendly. I wouldn’t mind living there. "

"I liked Havenwood of Richfield really well. I just didn't like it being on the other side of the river from me. The rooms were quite spacious, but the kitchens were probably a third of what the apartment was. For a one-bedroom apartment, it is kind of ridiculous to have the kitchen be so huge when they're providing two meals a day. I just felt that they could have had more living space. The living room/dining area was tiny. There was no living space. It's all kitchen. Everything was clean, neat, and well-organized. The staff was very friendly. Their social activities director's dad lived there. I think that's a pretty awesome statement that the staff would want or have their family members living there."

"I toured Villas at Pleasant Avenue II. Just for my convenience and everything, I would have rearranged it just a little bit differently. The staff who assisted with the tour was fine. She was very informative. It all seemed clean, well put together, and taken care of. They had a library and a gym."

"My dad moved into Benedictine Windermere Way. When you walk into it, it is so inviting. They always have fresh coffee and water there, and the staff is pleasant. The food was great. The facility is very clean. There's an activity calendar, and there's always something going on. They have bingo, and they have a bar place. They have a movie night. They play cards. They play left and right, and they play dice. They have a puzzle room, a library room, and a workout room. My dad has a studio, and I was impressed that he had a stove, a fridge, and lots of cupboards in the studio. They have a huge chapel. It's spacious, friendly, well-kept, and they have security."

"I toured Lofts on Rose. I like the staff, living facilities, and community area. That part was nice. It wasn't as roomy as the other one, but there was enough room to move around. It looked very clean. I didn't see anything out of place. Everything was where it was supposed to be. Even the residents looked clean as well."

"I was very impressed by the Ecumen Seasons at Maplewood. The staff was very responsive. It's a beautiful facility with beautiful grounds. I just couldn't look at the rooms, because there were no available rooms. I kind of walked past the rooms and from what I saw, they looked really pretty. They have a little kitchenette, but they're not allowed to have an oven or a microwave for safety reasons. It looked like a new facility. It's got a beautiful exterior. It was two or three stories tall and they had little ponds, a bridge, and an outdoor sitting area. They also had a spa, a party room, an exercise room, activities, and church services of various denominations."

"My mother is in Havenwood of Burnsville. The facility is pretty much brand new, so that was nice. They had decent staff, and the food is good here. The chef's homemade soups are really good. In general, it's pretty good. My mom has a two-bedroom apartment and a very good-sized kitchen. The appliances are good. They have studios and one-bedrooms. They have activities like happy hours and bingo. They took people to the grocery stores. They have a beauty salon and a community room. They have specials for every dinner, or you can order off the menu. They have a little patio with grills and stuff, but it's small."

"Walking into Havenwood felt so warm and welcoming. The front desk was super helpful in instructing me on how to sign in and I was welcomed by the sales lady who gave us a tour. We were shown a few apartments and were told they have 90 apartments in the community. The building had a great smell and super clean! Friendly staff! They have a really nice fitness center in which they have many machines to use plus a Nustep! I would recommend Havenwood of Buffalo!!!"
