"The rooms are older and small. The care is moderately good. The biggest complaint is that we purchased new comfortable clothing for him and within a week all but one item we purchased “disappeared” never to be seen again. They also “lost” a sweatshirt that was very dear to him. It is obvious that they randomly distribute clothing to other patients as we often arrived and he was wearing items that were not his own. I would be very wary of this place."

"Elim Shores is a very nice place. It's moderately priced, and it also has senior waivers, which a lot of places do not have. If a senior runs out of money, they throw you out. This place does not do that. The staff is very nice, caring, helpful, cheerful, and efficient. Even the residents are nice. I live in the East Coast; the Midwest is a much different world. The facility is also clean. Being at Elim Shores seems to work out for my mom, financially, and you just get a sense that it's a good place. "My girlfriend’s mom is in Cornerstone. They have friendly staff and make sure that her mom feels comfortable when she went in not knowing anybody. They are willing to make new people feel welcome, like it is the first day of school, and make sure that they meet everybody, who all give them a warm welcome. They have activities, like games, bingo, and live music. They have a separate room for activities that is not far from the dining area. It has been only three or four weeks since she moved in, so she is still getting used to everything that is going on. They have their own prayer service, a place for massages, and a salon. They offer three meals a day, brunch on Sundays, and mid-afteroon tea, pie, and coffee. "

"Havenwood of Maple Grove was very airy, light, white, and open compared to the other two places I went that had more darker wood. I believe they're only a year old, so they have a lot of availability. We toured both assisted living and independent. The tour guy was good. The layout was more dispersed, but they had laundry in their units. They didn't have a pool table though, which was kind of a big thing for my mother's friend."

"My aunt moved into Havenwood of Burnsville. The main reason we chose this facility was because of the monthly rent. She is on Social Security, and it was in her price range. The facility is only three years old. It's very nice and clean. It's a good location for my aunt. The lady who showed us around was very personable, nice, and helpful. My aunt is in independent living. If she eventually needs it, she can get assisted living. Another thing we really liked about this facility is that she doesn't have to move from her room. She can get assisted living help in her same room. She wouldn't have to move to a different wing or building. I know that they have a deli, which is so nice, so my aunt can go down there. One thing that I was very disappointed in was that they only go to the store once or maybe twice a month. Not everybody has a car, and my aunt does not have a car. They should have weekly transportation for these elders to go to the store. They have different activities that they offer. They constantly have puzzles going on in there. They have Bible studies and a library. I was impressed that her monthly rent payment was considerably lower than other places. It's a newer facility and does offer quite a bit."

"Benedictine Windermere Way is a fairly new place. My daughter-in-law's mother enjoys it very much. It's very well done and it is very comfortable. It had excellent people running it. The staff was competent and the activities were excellent. As part of their COVID protocols, you have to wear a mask, put antiseptic on your hands, and keep distance from the people. So, they are very cautious with that."

"My grandpa was moving out of his old home into a new one closer to my parents' house. During the move he needed a temporary place to stay that would be able to provide him with help if he needed it. So he got a place there for 2 months while we moved him into his new home. I visited him a few times a week and he loved it. Despite his old age he is quite the social butterfly so having other people his age to talk to and play cards with was great. It took his mind off of the move and kept him totally stress-free. Although I didn't run into to many staff members while there the few I did were very kind and always willing to lend a helping hand if one was needed. Although it would have been nice to see a bit more staff around to make sure everyone was taken care of. "

"My mom was still living in her own home and she didn't want to go into a nursing home. A lot of the assisted living buildings that have been around for many, many years, although they've been remodeled still have a real nursing home feel for them. But Seasons at Maplewood did not have that. In my opinion, they know what people want. The Ecumen building is only two years old, but it was hand-in-hand with another Ecumen building that was 25 years old. The staff seem great and I have not felt uncomfortable with anyone, from the chef, nurse, wait staff, and the concierge that's there from 8:00 in the morning till 8:00 at night. The main one, Lynn, she wears many hats and she's friendly. Everybody that works there seems to enjoy their jobs. My mother's room is huge. A 2-bedroom/2-bathroom apartment. It's over 900 square feet. I love their food. I've eaten their many times with her. Their price is not that bad, and anytime I want to eat with her, I just go on buy a ticket. And I have not had one bad meal yet, although my mom has had one. "

"We toured Oak Ridge Place. What I liked about it was the staff, friendly staff, and very knowledgeable. We were able to meet some, and what is important to us is they have nurses 24/7. We got to meet the person that's in charge of the dining room, which is really nice, and some of the residents. It was just a very pleasant, pleasant place. She took us to three different apartments and stuff, and a very, very nice, very open layout and stuff. I was really very pleased about the way the restrooms were, how much more safe it is for a person to take a shower with all the handles, and the cut out where they don't have to go over a tub, they can just walk into it. It was really nice. I liked the storage area that they had, so it was just a really nice place. They are pet friendly. The maintenance, they're 24/7 also. If you have problems, there's staff there, if you need them for questions. But one of the things that was really nice is that each resident gets one of those alert bracelets or a watch. If something should happen immediately, in the rooms themselves, there's like two or three buttons that they can push for immediate response from the staff there. I love that the mailboxes were indoors and not out. I thought that was really awesome."

"We're in Aquila Commons. It's a co-op place. I like living here very much, it's very friendly. They do offer rides to medical appointments. They have parties every three months, and those are kind of fun. They have a gathering every Friday in the evening where you bring your own bottle and sit around and gossip. Because of the co-op, you get to elect those who govern the place. It's a pleasant place, it's in good repair. We're in an apartment, and there are four or five different floor plans. We're in a two-bedroom and a den. It's attractive. We just had new carpet put in, which was nice. They accept up to two pets. They have a library, and once a year they have a big party. We don't have a pool, which is kind of bad, because I would love a pool."

"Park Shores is a new facility and it has a pool. The location is good. Everything is located nearby. It's close to the clinic that we go to. It's also close to the hospital. The place is very nice. The staff that we saw is very accommodating and very helpful. "

"I toured the Ackerberg Family Sholom West Campus. It was an older building. It was fine. The safety seemed very good. The room was pretty adequate. It was okay. It's bright enough. The staff was very nice. She answered all my questions. She went through the apartment, through the HUD application, and everything, so it was very good."

"I'm enjoying my stay here at Knollwood Place Apartments. I've got a one-bedroom apartment and it's well-managed. It's a nice place and it's nice services. The interaction with the staff is excellent. They have many activities. They have movies, dining out trips, and shopping in different places. They have lots of things that might help you physically and they have brain teaser things, too. No shortage of activities. It's a pretty modern building. It's very well-kept and very clean. I was on the meal plan for a while, but I don't really care for the food, and I'm not on it anymore."

"My friend moved into Global Pointe Senior Living. I liked the accommodations. The staff is very easy to work with and responsive. They have a beauty salon. They have multiple patios. They have daily activities. They bring in entertainment. They have a physician's group that they work with. The food is fairly good. It's consistent. And they also can bring it up to the room if the resident is not feeling like going down to a meal ticket. Overall, I'm satisfied with the care."
