"We were treated very well at Cornerstone. I thought the staff was excellent. It’s close to grocery shopping, to our doctor, and all that stuff. It’s just a convenient location for us where shopping and everything else is. It was a very good place. They had something like a wait room, an exercise room, and a woodwork shop. They had just done some painting on the walls, and there’s new carpeting in the hallways, so it’s very excellent. There’s no smell to it; it’s very clean. I would say it would be worth checking out. "

"Elim Shores is a nice facility. However, there is no dishwasher. They need to update their kitchen. Otherwise, they seem like a nice bunch of people. They don't have meals there. You have to cook your own, which is fine, but the kitchen is kind of small."

"If I need to place my mom, Ecumen Seasons at Maplewood is where she'll go. It looks very comfortable, very clean, and very friendly. It's just a beautiful place. The dining area is absolutely beautiful. It's clean and fresh. Everything is nice. The staff member who gave the tour was great. She went through everything with me and showed me everything. She was very thorough and very good."

"The rooms were wonderful, well laid out and surprisingly larger than I imagined they would be. Kitchen and appliances looked exceptional. The lunch was also wonderful and service was great. I certainly did not expect what I encountered at Havenwood. The tour given was outstanding! The staff was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. All questions I had were answered. All the residents I encountered appeared happy and well cared for. The only reason for a 4 star rating, was I noticed some water spotting on the glassware and there appeared to be some notable footprints in some of the common areas. Other than that, it is a wonderful facility and the tour was fantastic!"

"The person who toured us around Havenwood of Burnsville gave an excellent tour. We were there to look at their assisted living for my brother, and the place was beautiful. It's only five years old, so it's a lot newer. It was more expensive, though, about $300 more expensive than the place we had chosen for him. The rooms and the dining area were really nice. Everything I remember seeing in that place was really nice. They were our number one choice. There was also no problem with parking. They have a beautician who comes in and somebody who does foot care. They also have a lot going on for the patients. They have a library and different activities. I was very impressed with it."

"Benedictine Windermere Way was wonderful. The person that toured us, Randy, was super accommodating and was just a great person. The place was beautiful. Absolutely stunning. It's new so the rooms were beautiful. They were quite a bit smaller, but they're still gorgeous. They have a wonderful entrance in that lobby area. It was gorgeous, too. We waited for the meals, but they had a shortage of staff so we did not try the food, but the food looks fabulous. People raved about it. It's prepared by a chef and everybody we talked to loved it. Their dining area was beautiful. There's a fireplace. It's quite large with lots of windows and it's kept up very clean. They have physical therapy and different classes, like exercise classes. They have an outdoor patio. They were grilling out there and the activities looked great. They had an activity down in the theater room that had a big screen on it. They had different get-togethers, happy hours, and special occasions. They have a chapel that's much larger, and they have music playing. They have singalongs and the chapel looked beautiful."

"The Wellstead was great and really nice. I was ready to move in myself. The people were friendly and helpful. We had a full tour. "

"We toured Oak Ridge Place. What I liked about it was the staff, friendly staff, and very knowledgeable. We were able to meet some, and what is important to us is they have nurses 24/7. We got to meet the person that's in charge of the dining room, which is really nice, and some of the residents. It was just a very pleasant, pleasant place. She took us to three different apartments and stuff, and a very, very nice, very open layout and stuff. I was really very pleased about the way the restrooms were, how much more safe it is for a person to take a shower with all the handles, and the cut out where they don't have to go over a tub, they can just walk into it. It was really nice. I liked the storage area that they had, so it was just a really nice place. They are pet friendly. The maintenance, they're 24/7 also. If you have problems, there's staff there, if you need them for questions. But one of the things that was really nice is that each resident gets one of those alert bracelets or a watch. If something should happen immediately, in the rooms themselves, there's like two or three buttons that they can push for immediate response from the staff there. I love that the mailboxes were indoors and not out. I thought that was really awesome."

"What makes The Kenwood such a unique and welcoming place are the people, many of whom have worked there for 10–22 years. It says a lot about the leadership of an organization to sustain that level of dedication. My mom lived at The Kenwood for 7.5 years, from 2015–2023. Although she initially resisted the idea of moving into an apartment, she came to love it, largely because everyone—resident director, nursing staff, activities director, dining room staff, facilities manager, etc.—treated her with warmth, respect, patience, and good humor. I deeply appreciated the staff's responsiveness and open communication, especially during COVID and also as my mom's health began to decline. The Kenwood may not have an Instagram-worthy lobby, but it's got what no interior designer can give you: a vibrant, caring community. Two other perks for my mom: it's just a block from Thomas Lowry Park and the seven pools, and a short walk to Walker Art Center, the Sculpture Garden, and Loring Park. "

"I chose to be in Augustana Apartment because they had a lot of things that you could participate in and they had a hairdresser there, a pharmacy, a doctor, and several sitting areas. I also like my one-bedroom apartment, which is very roomy. The staff is great. They cook food three times a day and it's really fantastic. They have a menu where you could select what you want for a particular meal. I'm really happy here. "
