"I toured. It was new and updated, and it was very nice. We saw the studio room and it was nice and updated, but it was a little bit small. The dining area was nice, spacious, new, and updated. It was more like a restaurant. It had a bar area, and they do happy hours there, and then it had a seating area. We saw bingo going on and some residents were meeting in the lobby with their loved ones. The staff was very friendly. It didn't have as much outdoor space as I would have hoped, but they had it beautifully maintained. It was definitely in a more industrial area."

"It was exceptionally friendly. The consultants were amazing. They knew their community. They could answer all of my questions. They are pet-friendly. They have a chef-prepared menu. They have different payment plans that you can include different numbers of meals per month, so you aren't excluded from that. Otherwise, they give you 10 meals a month. They have a 50-pound dog limit, which is pretty generous. Their dining room is open 10 hours a day and you can go in any time and get a meal. They have daily OK checks. It's very nice and it's in a nice little location. It's right next to a grocery store. The prices were a little higher than the other place, but there were different amenities as well. We even had a resident greet us at the door."

"We're in an independent living apartment in the Northeast here in Keystone Place, receiving assisted living services. It is just perfect. They have 2 dining rooms, and they are both beautiful. They have a pub which is just as nice, very spacious, and very pretty. We have 2 patios and 3 rooms; one is a large living room and the other a smaller room, but you can actually have parties, and we've done that several times. It's a very convenient place to be. The staff is good. They are very nice, very caring, and very compassionate. Compared to others that we've looked at, their price is very comparable. It is very convenient to a large city, which is St Paul, Minnesota, and that is where we have our healthcare physicians and doctors. We have a lot of activities every day. We do have an exercise room, an activities room, and a park. We've got a theater here in the building; actually it is a large TV screen and some wonderful chairs that you can fall asleep in while you are watching the TV. If you want to watch a movie, we have movie nights here. "

"The tour at Rose Arbor & Wildflower Lodge went wonderfully. I had a good time over there. It's a nice place. I liked the building structure. It looked like Northwoods Cabin. I had minimal interaction with the staff, but it was very good. The rooms were spacious. The amenities were very good. Every room had a full kitchen and large windows. I love the nature outside. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable."

"The rooms were all nice, good-sized one-bedrooms with kitchens. The ones on the first floor had patios. They had bingo, puzzles, and games and a van on which the residents do outings. There was a room which they use as a chapel and movie theater. I only met their sales representative, who was very nice. The place was nice and clean. I saw a few residents who all looked happy."

"We had a very good experience moving my parents in. Though we are giving five stars, it might have helped to understand the Ambassador program better. Maybe we missed something that was explained to us but I don’t remember how the introduction between the ambassador and my parents was going to happen. A couple people told us who the assigned ambassador was but we never met him in the week we were there. Again, we might have missed something information that was available to us, but some information about how to get new residents familiar with wayfinding would be helpful. Maybe there aren’t any tricks for way finding except repetition."

"The rooms seemed bigger than the other ones I've toured, even the studio was bigger. The layout seemed nice. Even for memory care, the rooms had a kitchen with a couple of cabinets. They couldn't cook, but they had a refrigerator and a microwave. The staff was great. They interacted with the residents. The residents seemed happy to see them walking by. They have what they call a Movie Day or Cinema Day, when they show a movie from the 1950s or the 1960s. They have an exercise room, and they do group time. They also take them on a little shuttle bus to various activities around the area."

"I looked at three apartments at Havenwood of Minnetonka. I visited primarily for independent living, but I was looking for continuous care going forward. For me, it's in a very good location. There's a grocery store, there's a bank, there's a hardware store, and there are restaurants. It's just very, very convenient for me who is accustomed to living on the western edge of Minneapolis. The first impression when you walk in is that it is a new building. It's very clean and it's tastefully decorated in the public areas. The apartments are smaller compared to what I'm living in now, but I'm ready to accept that in the future. I only met with two people. I met with one who gave me the tour and then the gal who was at the front desk. They're very accommodating and answered all my questions, plus they gave me more information, not just what I'd asked about."

"The other place that we looked at was The Wellstead. It was a phenomenal facility. The décor was a bit more upscale, which my parents preferred, but they didn’t have a two-bedroom available at the time. I was very impressed with this community, they just didn’t have openings. In the end, they were farther away from my home. The Wellstead has dining options, it is bigger, and they have more robust entertainment options. It is also closer to my home."

"My mother lived at Oakridge Place. The price was good. You have a choice of doing a full meal plan, one meal a day, or two meals a day. They had wonderful staff there. We visited there. I thought that I was going to be able to have a meal there, but I didn't get to. I was a little late, and they were in the middle of their lunch. If you don't like what's on their menu for the day, you can do an ala carte menu. They could have said, 'Well, we can get you a sandwich quick' since people were still eating in the dining room. They could have done that. I think the staff either forgot or had to continue with the tour because I was late, and she had other things going on. The staff was wonderful. I visited this place two weeks ago, and the person who did the tour was Heather. She is new to that place, but she's very good and helpful. They had a couple of apartments that they were fixing up. After someone leaves a place like that, they thoroughly have to go through it and clean it. Heather did a great job. I was pleased with it. It didn't make a difference that I didn't get a lunch, but I think if they tell you you're going to get lunch, you should get a sandwich or something. They have a lot of activities for the residents. They had a lot of people coming in to sing. Sometimes, during the meal, they had light piano music going on and a lady was playing. It's not a place that I wanted, but it would be a great place for the right person. They were very efficient with everything. The dining room was very clean. The hallways were very clean and kept up well. They had a lot of activities. From experience with my mom being there, they have activities that are geared towards older people like bingo, putting puzzles together, and music. They have a van where they'll take you to the bank or they'll take you where you need to go. My mom was there during COVID the whole time and it doesn't bother her too much because she wasn't used to going out much anyway because she's blind and couldn't see. She had those books where they listened to the books. Those are provided by the Foundation for the Blind and that was her enjoyment for activity. There are good things for the people to do there. Overall (and I based it on what my mother was able to do), they were very efficient with that. They had therapies that would come in if your doctor agreed that you needed that. They had bingo, music, therapy, exercise, and some other types of games."

"My dad moved into Benedictine Windermere Way. When you walk into it, it is so inviting. They always have fresh coffee and water there, and the staff is pleasant. The food was great. The facility is very clean. There's an activity calendar, and there's always something going on. They have bingo, and they have a bar place. They have a movie night. They play cards. They play left and right, and they play dice. They have a puzzle room, a library room, and a workout room. My dad has a studio, and I was impressed that he had a stove, a fridge, and lots of cupboards in the studio. They have a huge chapel. It's spacious, friendly, well-kept, and they have security."
