"The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Many different floor plans to decide what is best for your loved one. The staff is top notch and very caring. A wonderful, caring, safe environment - highly recommended."

"My mother lived at Oakridge Place. The price was good. You have a choice of doing a full meal plan, one meal a day, or two meals a day. They had wonderful staff there. We visited there. I thought that I was going to be able to have a meal there, but I didn't get to. I was a little late, and they were in the middle of their lunch. If you don't like what's on their menu for the day, you can do an ala carte menu. They could have said, 'Well, we can get you a sandwich quick' since people were still eating in the dining room. They could have done that. I think the staff either forgot or had to continue with the tour because I was late, and she had other things going on. The staff was wonderful. I visited this place two weeks ago, and the person who did the tour was Heather. She is new to that place, but she's very good and helpful. They had a couple of apartments that they were fixing up. After someone leaves a place like that, they thoroughly have to go through it and clean it. Heather did a great job. I was pleased with it. It didn't make a difference that I didn't get a lunch, but I think if they tell you you're going to get lunch, you should get a sandwich or something. They have a lot of activities for the residents. They had a lot of people coming in to sing. Sometimes, during the meal, they had light piano music going on and a lady was playing. It's not a place that I wanted, but it would be a great place for the right person. They were very efficient with everything. The dining room was very clean. The hallways were very clean and kept up well. They had a lot of activities. From experience with my mom being there, they have activities that are geared towards older people like bingo, putting puzzles together, and music. They have a van where they'll take you to the bank or they'll take you where you need to go. My mom was there during COVID the whole time and it doesn't bother her too much because she wasn't used to going out much anyway because she's blind and couldn't see. She had those books where they listened to the books. Those are provided by the Foundation for the Blind and that was her enjoyment for activity. There are good things for the people to do there. Overall (and I based it on what my mother was able to do), they were very efficient with that. They had therapies that would come in if your doctor agreed that you needed that. They had bingo, music, therapy, exercise, and some other types of games."

"Chapel View Senior Health & Living Senior Living Community was very nice. However, it is for somebody that is more interested in the spiritual aspects of aging. They talked about having services daily, and I can't be as enthusiastic about it. It did not appeal to myself and my son. They had separate independent living, and there was another area for assisted living. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice and accommodating. It was a gorgeous setting. They have a long picture type window. It was just beautiful to look at. The rooms were very appealing, but nothing stood out for me. There were a lot of people around, especially around the elevator, so they were coming and going from somewhere. They gave me a sheet of their activities. The dining area looked lovely. The surroundings were spectacular, but it did not appeal to me at all. I'm not interested to know that they provide church services and that kind of thing. It was lovely and clean. Everything looked very good on the outside, but it did not speak to me."

"My visit to Ridgepointe was excellent, but we couldn’t get a tour on the weekend. It was a beautiful place. There were people just sitting together, talking in the lobby, and enjoying themselves. They have a grand piano for people who come in and play. There’s a lot of walking to the cafeteria, and if you want to have food brought to your room, you need to pay extra. The location was excellent, and it had underground parking. The staff was so friendly and so excellent. The woman at the reception desk was very nice. I love the rooms: they have a full kitchen, large living room, and bedroom, but they didn’t have a full bathtub. "

"I visited and thought it was a lovely environment. It's close to many amenities, things to do, and shopping. It felt like very nice, upscale living. The staff was friendly, open to questions, and treated me very well. The food was amazing. They're connected to a community center, so you can go swimming. It was more for active people."

"Havenwood of Maple Grove was very nice. The people were very accommodating, and some of the residents I met were nice. It's clean and brand new. If you're on the second level with the system, you can stay in your apartment, and then you just pay for the services for them to come in and help you. We didn't go to memory care, that's a separate area. The facility was very nice, clean, and bright. They had washers and dryers, which is wonderful. They had just come back from a walk, so I didn't see anyone at the time playing bingo. It was in the morning. They have listed some activities that were coming up. I was there about 11:00. But they had activities for the resident, so it's very nice. They showed us an exercise room. They had an area you could sit when the weather was nice. The dining area is very nice and very open. They charge for meals. The common spaces were all clean. Everything's very nice, clean, and sanitized."

"I thought Wellstead was really nice because it has a very independent and apartment-like feeling. It didn't feel like a nursing home. It's like the residents were in their own place. The rooms were very nice. They had a really nice-sized bedroom, a living room kitchen combination, and a good-sized bathroom. So far the staff that I had met there were very good. A lot of people around the area had a lot of positive feedback from people in the community that have worked there or had friends work there. There's a lot of insider information that made you feel a little bit better about it. My dad is going to move in there. It's closer to my home, too."

"Elim Shores is a very nice place. It's moderately priced, and it also has senior waivers, which a lot of places do not have. If a senior runs out of money, they throw you out. This place does not do that. The staff is very nice, caring, helpful, cheerful, and efficient. Even the residents are nice. I live in the East Coast; the Midwest is a much different world. The facility is also clean. Being at Elim Shores seems to work out for my mom, financially, and you just get a sense that it's a good place. "We toured Havenwood of Burnsville. It was nice. The room was a studio; it is what it is. We were hoping for something a little bigger with a bedroom, but other than that, it's fine. The staff was professional. The dining area was clean and spacious."

"I was not overly impressed with Ecumen Seasons at Apple Valley. They all look the same. It was three or four stories with windows on three sides. It was clean, but just not eye-popping like the other place. The person that showed me around was amenable. It just didn't grab my attention as the other place did. The tour person was extremely nice and answered questions and everything else. When we went down the halls, people were milling around and sitting on couches. They might have been doing a puzzle or playing some card game or something. There was one table with some people at it. We saw a garden and an outdoor patio with tables and chairs. They had underground parking. I went to two units, and we talked about everything. We went back to the office and then we went through pricing and the different levels. There were five buildings there. I only went to one building for independent living. They had two assisted living buildings and the last one was more like a nursing facility where they have full care. It's one big campus. It felt more homey than institutional."

"The Ecumen Parmly (Margaret S Parmly) is actually a very wonderful place, very clean, friendly, and nice. They do have assisted living, and we are trying to get my mother in there. She went in there Thursday last week, and the people working there were very friendly. It is very clean and very beautiful. It’s a large facility, but each section has its own wing. They have entertainers that come in, and they have TVs. The atmosphere was very good. The room is not that bad; they have like six people in there and each has plenty of room. She has her own bathroom, TV, a chair, and a table. She gets assistance getting to the wheelchair and then to the bathroom. They come very quickly when she pushes the button, and then the person that comes in would do wound care. They are very good, and they listen to her. "

"I moved to Bay Harbor of River Falls. It's wonderful. All the people that live there are very nice, and they have wonderful activities every day. I enjoy it very much. The food is excellent. Yesterday, we had music in the afternoon and bingo. The dining area, they're remodeling it right now, and it's very clean and very nice. I like my room very much. They send somebody in once a week for 15 minutes to do the floors, the sink, and the bathroom."

"My dad moved into Benedictine Windermere Way. When you walk into it, it is so inviting. They always have fresh coffee and water there, and the staff is pleasant. The food was great. The facility is very clean. There's an activity calendar, and there's always something going on. They have bingo, and they have a bar place. They have a movie night. They play cards. They play left and right, and they play dice. They have a puzzle room, a library room, and a workout room. My dad has a studio, and I was impressed that he had a stove, a fridge, and lots of cupboards in the studio. They have a huge chapel. It's spacious, friendly, well-kept, and they have security."

"My parents are in Scandia Shores. It is nice, open and bright. However, it is just independent living and not assisted living, but the place itself is nice. Everyone seems quite friendly. I think the staff is above reproach, very helpful, and friendly. They have a few meals that come with the charge, and the rest can either eat in the community dining or eat in their own room. I have eaten there and the food is good. They have pretty common activities like birthday parties, dance for the holidays, and they also go out as most of the places do. They also provide a van to the grocery stores. We think it is pretty good. They are happy there, and I recommend them to others. "
