"My wife stayed at Abiitan Mill City. They helped with all sorts of services, like getting her dressed, going to the bathroom, and bringing food. They have all sorts of other things that you could do and other programs. They're pretty much complete, and they've got a nice restaurant on the first floor. They're all very pleasant people. My wife had a studio apartment. All it had was a refrigerator, bath, and toilet. It's the smallest one they had, and it was perfectly fine. They kept it clean and they came in maybe once or twice a week. The food was OK. They advertise it as restaurant quality; 50% of it was and the other 50% wasn't. The staff were wonderful. They're all good and caring. They were prompt, and if you need help, they will get there fast. They were very good. They got a lot of activities."

"I went to tour the Ecumen Seasons at Maplewood. The staff was pushing my aunt more into a deeper level of memory care than she needed, and I wasn't happy about that. The rooms were big and they had a washer and dryer in the apartments. They had very nice grounds. This facility is actually very nice and big."

"My mom is at The Lodge at White Bear, A Sky Active Living Community. They have a shuttle bus and a bus driver that would take her to her doctor's appointment. She can't drive because it's winter. Plus, we want her to stop driving, so we like having that ability to have someone drive her. They cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In the room, there's no stove, but they have a microwave and a fridge. They promote socialization there, especially when they're eating. They don't want them to eat in their room. They have crafts and stuff going on pretty much every day. They had somebody come in there and read poetry when I was there. They also had somebody else come in and sing. If you want a garage, it's only $50 a month. My mom could also bring an animal. She did have a little dog, but she ended up having to re-home him. However, that was just a one-payment deposit. The payment for a one-bedroom monthly includes everything except the phone and the garage if you have a car. The lady that runs it is very, very nice. She promotes a good environment. The people there are very, very nice, too. I was there for two weeks with my mom, helping her get situated. I can't compare it to anything else, but I wouldn't mind living there. There are more women than men. My mom, who had lived in her last place for 30 years, was very nervous about moving in, but she felt very welcome. She also felt that all of the ladies were helping her. Her neighbor, who is 98 years old, is helping my mom figure out the mail and the laundry. My mom is fine now. She is feeling good about it. She is not stressed out and is not feeling lonely. They're always knocking on her door and checking on her. They also provide a Life Alert for her, and she doesn't have to pay for that. I can't say enough about them. I live in Florida, and my mom lives in Minnesota, and I would have to say it has been all very, very good. They have three options for food, and I think that's a good thing. They have someone clean their rooms once a week, and that's included in the fee, too. The staff members help my mom tremendously, and they're very, very wonderful to her. So that's all I care about. They're responsive and all that. The building is always clean, and I always see them cleaning. It doesn't smell. It's very nice for an old building. It's very well maintained. It looks really good. They have quite a few activities, and they have a new activities director. There's a lady who has been there for 10 years, and she still has a smile on her face. If you want to participate, they have a lot of different things to do, so I think it's great. The value is outstanding."

"My overall experience with Copperfield Hill was positive, but my finances would not allow me to live there right now. The staff was knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had. The rooms were a bit small, and the bedrooms and the living rooms were small. The dining area was OK, but there's nothing spectacular about it. They had dancing, card games, movies, exercises, and yoga."

"We chose Covenant Living of Golden Valley. We liked how happy everyone was, the involvement of people in the community, and the interactions that people had with each other. The residents were just interactive, happy, and welcoming. It just depends which room you get. Some have laundry, some don't, and it depends on the size of the room. But one thing about them, there's a buy-in option, but you can redecorate your room how you want it before you move in."

"The rooms are older and small. The care is moderately good. The biggest complaint is that we purchased new comfortable clothing for him and within a week all but one item we purchased “disappeared” never to be seen again. They also “lost” a sweatshirt that was very dear to him. It is obvious that they randomly distribute clothing to other patients as we often arrived and he was wearing items that were not his own. I would be very wary of this place."

"We moved into assisted living here. It's a brand-new building and it has so far been just fine. We're just kind of getting settled in. It's wonderful and it's really nice. The apartments are really nice. The staff is very good. The food and dining setup looks OK. They have a gym and craft room. They have an activities director who's doing a survey right now with all the new residents to see what activities they want. They offer daily grocery transportation and one-day-a-week rides to doctors appointments."

"Honestly, we feel so lucky to have my in-laws here at Keystone. I tell everyone, it's like the "Disney World" of senior living spots. It has all levels of care, currently my in-laws are at the independent stage there. Every single staff member here is amazing. Kind, caring, responsible, fun, and well-informed about this demographic. They love the food and choices here, and we have joined them and been pleased as well. The size of Keystone is key--not so large that they get "lost" with hundreds of residents, yet not to small. The wide range of activities, both daily and special ones added just to spice up the lives of these wonderful residents, is another advantage. Although my husband's parents do not participate in many activities, as they prefer to stay in their apartment, we have observed many happy residents enjoying socializing, learning and playing together. All such key elements that research has shown improves the cognitive and social/emotional sides of each person there! The few times we have gotten them to partake, they really enjoy it and that's a HUGE, over-the-top compliment to the wellness staff at Keystone! The move=in process, which can typically be high stress level, was uncomplicated to the utmost degree. The staff there were so very accommodating, and the apartment is lovely and just perfect for them. Again, we are truly grateful for Keystone Living at Lavalle Fields. We toured MANY facilities in the area. This one has the BEST staff. In this business that means everything. AND their apartment and the rest of the amenities there are top-notch. I am constantly recommending this spot to friends, a true sign of how well this establishment is managed and maintained. "

"It was very nice. They're very friendly. With the COVID they tested us before we went in and took our temperature. The staff was very nice. She and I are still in touch with each other. My bother has chosen it at this point in time. He likes to live where he has a view of things and he would be up on the sixth or seventh floor at this place. There's also the indoor park, so in the winter when it's cold, you have some place you can go and walk around without having to go outside. They have a lot of social activities and things for them to do."

"I did visit Ridgepointe. It was an excellent community. I love their people. The management was so helpful and informative. I love the place. If we had a choice, it’s the first one that we would go to. The dining room was big and clean. I think it was inviting. I had a good impression. I absolutely recommend this community. I love the people who work there. They were representing the place very well. "

"We toured Oak Ridge Place. What I liked about it was the staff, friendly staff, and very knowledgeable. We were able to meet some, and what is important to us is they have nurses 24/7. We got to meet the person that's in charge of the dining room, which is really nice, and some of the residents. It was just a very pleasant, pleasant place. She took us to three different apartments and stuff, and a very, very nice, very open layout and stuff. I was really very pleased about the way the restrooms were, how much more safe it is for a person to take a shower with all the handles, and the cut out where they don't have to go over a tub, they can just walk into it. It was really nice. I liked the storage area that they had, so it was just a really nice place. They are pet friendly. The maintenance, they're 24/7 also. If you have problems, there's staff there, if you need them for questions. But one of the things that was really nice is that each resident gets one of those alert bracelets or a watch. If something should happen immediately, in the rooms themselves, there's like two or three buttons that they can push for immediate response from the staff there. I love that the mailboxes were indoors and not out. I thought that was really awesome."

"We toured Rose Arbor & Wildflower Lodge. We were impressed with the welcoming staff. The director demonstrated care for our concerns and needs for our family. Our questions were thoroughly answered. We were pleasantly surprised by how updated the apartments were. The residents were engaged, and we could see our family members there in the future. We were looking at one-bedroom apartments in particular. There are no balconies, but they have just been redone. They're fresh and new, and have a call button in more than one room. The whole place has recently been refurbished, so it's quite nice. We noticed a very nice common meeting room where a concert took place, and the residents enjoyed it, as well as a dining room with tables for conversations and meals."

"I'm moving into Havenwood of Maple Grove. The staff was very nice and caring. It's almost brand new, so it looks nice. Everything's clean and beautiful. My apartment here is about the same size as I'm getting at Havenwood. They had a nice, big dining area. There seems like quite a lot going on there, various classes and different activities. It was a busy place. I saw them in the exercise class. They were doing that. And then there was a card playing on two different occasions that we went there. We saw people playing cards. Everybody seemed happy."

"My parents moved into Haven Wood in June 2023. Sadly, my mom passed away that fall, and I was initially concerned about how my dad would manage living on his own. Fortunately, he truly loves it at Haven Wood. The facility and rooms are top-notch, and my dad can’t say enough good things about the food — both the quality and variety are excellent. He especially appreciates the willingness of the kitchen staff to accommodate "off-menu" requests, which makes meals feel more personal and enjoyable. While there has been quite a bit of staff turnover, everyone has been exceptionally kind and attentive to my dad, and I’m deeply grateful for the care he’s received."

"Elim Shores is a very nice place. It's moderately priced, and it also has senior waivers, which a lot of places do not have. If a senior runs out of money, they throw you out. This place does not do that. The staff is very nice, caring, helpful, cheerful, and efficient. Even the residents are nice. I live in the East Coast; the Midwest is a much different world. The facility is also clean. Being at Elim Shores seems to work out for my mom, financially, and you just get a sense that it's a good place. "My impression of Havenwood of Burnsville was great. The atmosphere was very welcoming, nice, and warm. Kirsten was very nice. She wanted to know my mom's condition, the different highlights of her life, and our goals with her. She took her time with us and even shared her experiences with her mom. It was a very pleasant visit. The residents responded to her very well and vice versa. It was a beautiful place. The rooms were very clean. They had nice, soft-toned colors that were welcoming. The locations of the washer-dryer, the bathroom, and the kitchenette were nice, too."

"My grandpa was moving out of his old home into a new one closer to my parents' house. During the move he needed a temporary place to stay that would be able to provide him with help if he needed it. So he got a place there for 2 months while we moved him into his new home. I visited him a few times a week and he loved it. Despite his old age he is quite the social butterfly so having other people his age to talk to and play cards with was great. It took his mind off of the move and kept him totally stress-free. Although I didn't run into to many staff members while there the few I did were very kind and always willing to lend a helping hand if one was needed. Although it would have been nice to see a bit more staff around to make sure everyone was taken care of. "

"I thought Wellstead was really nice because it has a very independent and apartment-like feeling. It didn't feel like a nursing home. It's like the residents were in their own place. The rooms were very nice. They had a really nice-sized bedroom, a living room kitchen combination, and a good-sized bathroom. So far the staff that I had met there were very good. A lot of people around the area had a lot of positive feedback from people in the community that have worked there or had friends work there. There's a lot of insider information that made you feel a little bit better about it. My dad is going to move in there. It's closer to my home, too."
