The RosePointe Senior Living floor plan was better than most. They had two bedrooms, two baths, and that's important to us. We really haven't met anyone in the community yet, but we know that there are lots of people who are very active in teaching and putting on seminars. There are several artists, and I am one who will join them. I also think I'll take part in the exercise program they have as well. It'll be very convenient for us. All the apartments are so much smaller than our house. The big thing I'll miss is being able to walk outside, just open the door, and walk out, and that is not going to happen anymore. We're gonna go to the second floor. We'll have to use an elevator to get down, that kind of stuff. The staff is really wonderful. We weren't there to sample the food, but we did talk about it. They give you 10 meals, and then anything over that you have to buy individually. That should really work well for us to be able to hopscotch through the menu and find some things we really like and eat those, and then get our own thing on the other days. They're very clean, and they're really on top of things. They take care of any problems right away, and that really helps the community feel better about themselves, and it helps maintain the buildings. They have a really nice morning exercise program where you can go to several kinds of classes. They have some machines on the side that you can work with. I think they're one of the best. We went to 11 different tours and 11 different stories about money. We kind of listened harder to these people because it seemed like they wanted less from me for more amenities than most. I feel they're doing a really good job.

RosePointe Senior Living didn't know I was coming, but they brought me in. A lady gave me a tour of the facility, including two of the one-bedroom rooms. The sizes of the rooms were fine. They were in the 640 to 660 square foot range. It was in good shape. It was a little older than the other places, but it was all clean and they had decent facilities and amenities. They had a dining area, workout areas, and things like that. You could get underground parking. You could get some light housekeeping if you want. Eight of the meals come with your rent, so you have to pay a little more for more meals if you want them. The three staff I met and the manager were all very, very polite and they answered any questions and introduced me to a couple of the residents and they all said they liked it there.

My mom moved into Rose Pointe Senior Living and it's a 100% compared to the past community she was with. The nice thing is she's on the lower level, and she's got a sliding glass door, and she overlooks a nice, wooded area. I think because Rose Pointe is not one of those across United States type facility they just do more personal care. She now has a full kitchen. It's kinda hard because with COVID they're very, very strict. Other family members had to sneak in there to see her, but being on the lower level, it's not a problem. She can pick meals to be delivered. Activities are very minimal right now, but they do try to still have small group get-togethers.
