"I love it here at Ecumen Prairie Lodge. I feel safe and sound. The food is great. They are all pretty fantastic people. They are fun to be with and I love them. I don't want to be anywhere else. The place is simple. We have coffee here any time you want it, or juice, and there's plenty of water. They wash our clothes and take good care of us. They take us to different therapies. So far, I love it. They are excellent. They are very kind and very caring."

"Brookdale Plymouth would've been our first choice, except for the distance that my dad would have to drive to go see my mom. They were top. They had the most interesting, pretty interior. It looked like a little street in a town and the offices of the staff all looked like little shops along the street. It was really unique. The residents' rooms were just beyond that, but they could walk around. They had a chef that did all their cooking and they sent us home with a little container with some treats in it. They have activities daily, and it was quite a variety. Their prices were comparable, but they were probably number one on our list except for the distance. They had nice companion rooms. It did not look like a hospital at all. You either had a private room that was just like a studio apartment and they were just real small, or if they were a double room, there was definite separation. This side of the room is for this resident and that side of the room is for the other one, and there was a bathroom in between that they shared. For memory care, they definitely would visualize and see their spaces over there. One of them was even L-shaped, so that one resident got one part of the L and the other resident got the other side. There was definite separation and that was nice, and at a discounted rate because it was a room for two people."

"We toured Rakhma Peace Home. That was lovely. It's actually where we started. I think they had seven residents and one opening, so it'd be eight, I think total of all women. They were conscious of women's needs if they had a traumatic history so they wouldn't want to be housed with men, especially with dementia or memories of trauma, a traumatic history. So that was something I thought they had a good awareness of. They talked amongst their staff and said that because it's my sister who wants socializing and wants to be with people and talk to people, they recommended the Peace House as having residents who were more able to do that and meet her needs. We wanted to tour it because they thought that she could socialize more there. They have both private rooms and shared rooms. They were very small rooms, so the larger rooms were shared. They could have some personal items, a dresser, and a bed, but very little. They had big, large, shared spaces. Televisions on both floors with large shared spaces on both floors. They had a kitchen on both floors too. It felt like a home, and around-the-clock nursing care was available. It's an older home and a Victorian home. I noticed that the downstairs bathroom was accessible, but the upstairs bathroom was not, and they said that they were working on that. They're changing these as they're able to."

"Our tour at Minnehaha Senior Living was very nice. It was very informative. I thought the actual facility was very homey, nice, and clean. They had a lot to offer, which was nice. The staff was very nice. She was exceptional."

"We had my mom ready to go into Cornerstone Assisted Living, but we'd have to put her into memory care there. Having seen other memory cares, it's probably the best one but that's a drastic change, and it's not an environment I would want to put my mother in at this point. It's a very nice community, and the assisted living was beautiful. We toured the assisted area where they have a dining area, a solarium and activities. It was very nice. My mom would have to be sent down into the lower level, which they lock up unless family comes. It's a newer community, but the memory care rooms were pretty small, which my mother doesn't like. They also wouldn't allow pets, and that was a big deal for her too, and that was probably the last straw for her. From what I understand, it's normal for any memory care community."

"We toured Suite Living of Brooklyn Park. When you walk in the door, it's very inviting, very hospitable. You felt comfortable. It was pretty. The girl who took us on the tour was very knowledgeable and forthcoming. We were happy with the facility. It was a smaller facility, so I think my mom would get good care. The rooms are nice for her to be in. If I had to choose a place, it would probably be that place. It's very clean and updated."

"My mom has been at Sunrise for 2.5 years in assisted living and now in memory care. My brothers and I have been happy for the caring team, facilities, cleanliness, and the staff have been there a long time! We looked at all the bells and whistles the newer places but it was cold, didn't feel like home! Highly recommend Sunrise!"

"My parents moved into Haven Wood in June 2023. Sadly, my mom passed away that fall, and I was initially concerned about how my dad would manage living on his own. Fortunately, he truly loves it at Haven Wood. The facility and rooms are top-notch, and my dad can’t say enough good things about the food — both the quality and variety are excellent. He especially appreciates the willingness of the kitchen staff to accommodate "off-menu" requests, which makes meals feel more personal and enjoyable. While there has been quite a bit of staff turnover, everyone has been exceptionally kind and attentive to my dad, and I’m deeply grateful for the care he’s received."

"My mother lived in the memory care unit at Sunrise of Minnetonka from 2016 until she passed away in 2023. The staff gave her absolutely wonderful care that entire time. My mother had dementia, but also another diagnosis that made placement difficult. In addition, she was very active and alert, so she needed beautifully decorated surroundings, lots of interesting daily activities to choose from, great tasting food, and friendship. The staff at Sunrise excelled at all of the above, for almost seven years straight, including through the difficult years of the pandemic, adjusting mom's care as her needs changed. I HIGHLY recommend Sunrise!"

"We toured Sunrise of Roseville. There were 45 or 50 people there for assisted living, and everybody was happy. The apartments were very nice, including the one on the ground floor and the back overlooking some parkland and stuff. It has a very nice two-bedroom, and it seemed like a nice size. Everything looks good about it. There's a refrigerator, but no stove because they provide all the meals. They serve three meals a day, and you can get snacks anytime. Breakfast starts at maybe eight, and you can get all day long. They have different menu specials every day, like lunch, maybe noon to one, and then dinner at 5 to 6, but there's also a snack bar where you can pick up popcorn and cookies and other things, and you can pretty much ask for anything, and they'll be happy to give it to you. We had breakfast there and it was great."

"I liked Havenwood of Richfield really well. I just didn't like it being on the other side of the river from me. The rooms were quite spacious, but the kitchens were probably a third of what the apartment was. For a one-bedroom apartment, it is kind of ridiculous to have the kitchen be so huge when they're providing two meals a day. I just felt that they could have had more living space. The living room/dining area was tiny. There was no living space. It's all kitchen. Everything was clean, neat, and well-organized. The staff was very friendly. Their social activities director's dad lived there. I think that's a pretty awesome statement that the staff would want or have their family members living there."
