"I chose Abiitan Mill City because of the neighborhood. My very first apartment in Minneapolis was right there. I raised my daughter there. Our favorite restaurant for our family is there. We have many friends there. They're welcoming to cats. There's a whole floor where a kitty can play and be on leash with others. It's easy for my friends to get to. It is not spacious. These apartments are dinky. The staff was very welcoming. They showed the library, the gym, the auditorium, the restaurants, several versions of the apartments, the open floors, the garden floors, and the patios. I like the design, too. It's very modern, not suburban, but the parking is so expensive, and I might have to give up my car. It's sparkling clean. My friends did have dinner there and they said it was very good."

"We went to visit Suite Living of Brooklyn Park and toured for memory care. One of the things that we didn't like about it was that the rooms were way too small. They also have an outdoor area, but it is not well shaded, and there aren't many trees. It seemed clean, though. I don't recall that it smelled funny or anything. The dining room in the memory care is also spacious for the residents' needs. The person who gave the tour was very professional."

Our house is located in the heart of the city on a quiet corner, where there are parks for our residents to walk to. Each resident has their own private room, fully furnished, including TV. Laundry is done everyday. The entire home is cleaned daily as well. Meals of choice are prepared for our residents, following any diet restrictions they may have. All meals are prepared and cooked fresh daily. NOTE: We do not allow alcohol, illicit drugs or pork. There is a big TV in our living room area where residents can gather to watch shows and movies, as well as converse and socialize. We provide culturally competent care for all clients. "I thought Chapel View Senior Living Apartments was very friendly and very homey. The tour was very pleasant and the facilities were nice. It was just that the apartments were a little spartan, is the way I'd describe them. If I'd lived over there, I probably would be better about it, but it would have been a long drive and I think I couldn't see my mom living there. I felt that the apartments were a little like brick walls inside the spaces, so they weren't very homey. The staff members were really friendly and the community seemed small and kind of homey, but the apartments just didn't seem very cozy."

"My mom is in the memory care of Cornerstone Assisted Living and Memory Care. The biggest thing right now that I would say is they have a high level of staffing, and then their flexibility to work with an advocate on the care plan specific to that individual. The appearance of the place it's nice. It's accommodating. It's clean, and I think the facility is managed well. The upkeep of the place is very satisfactory to my standards. For the folks that are in memory care, I feel they need a little more one-on-one stimulation. It's a well-kept, large community. I specifically like the size of my mother's room. It is very close, comfortable, and accommodating."

"My sister moved to Suite Living of Spring Lake Park. It's very clean, airy, and open. The staff is friendly and nice, and the food is good. However, they don't have enough staff. They have bingo and cards and go out and eat if they want."

"I have found Suite Living of Maple Grove for myself. It's five minutes away from my sister. It's nice. It's one level. It only has 12 residents for assisted living and then 12 residents for memory care. They're very nice and really polite there, and I like that about them, and then I can volunteer there too anytime I want. I can do bingo, and if somebody's sick or doesn't wanna do it, I can do that for them. There's painting, coloring, and games, and all this other fun stuff. It's a lot of fun. I'm so excited. They're very caring and nice to me. The staff member who gave the tour was very nice and outgoing and answered all my questions. She was very polite and considerate. The nurse that came over and talked with me said, "You're a good fit," and she was very polite and kind too. The dining area was very beautiful and very clean. The physical appearance of the facility was perfect."

"Havenwood of Maple Grove was very airy, light, white, and open compared to the other two places I went that had more darker wood. I believe they're only a year old, so they have a lot of availability. We toured both assisted living and independent. The tour guy was good. The layout was more dispersed, but they had laundry in their units. They didn't have a pool table though, which was kind of a big thing for my mother's friend."

"Rose Arbor & Wildflower Lodge had a really beautiful dining area. Everything was centrally located. So, there's the a chapel area and they also had a pool table. The atmosphere was very homey, and comforting, and they seemed to have a good care team. They talked about their nursing care while the other places didn't. I liked their meal program. Some places do a la carte where you just pay every day, but they have a monthly plan where you can pick one meal. Another thing I liked about it was that independent living and assisted living were not separate. The apartments I looked at were good. The salesperson I interacted with was wonderful. He has also reached out to me several times afterward when I've had questions and he's very quick to get back. The only thing I did not like was the laundry was not inside the units."

"My Uncle went to Sunrise of Roseville for respite care after having a stroke. He made the decision to remain living at Sunrise until his passing. The staff are kind and caring, he truly enjoyed getting to know them, as did I, during the two years he lived there. His room had everything he wanted and he enjoyed the variety of meals offered, especially the turkey dinner, through the meal service. Coffee and snacks are always available too. My Uncle was immobile and tended not to socialize much, but there are plenty of social activities offered through Sunrise and I would see many residents enjoying themselves and socializing. The grounds are well kept and there is a wonderful 4 season porch and outside sitting areas where you can enjoy being outside. There is also a nice library and community sitting rooms where residents and family can visit. Overall it is a pleasant community and facility to live and visit. "I toured Brookdale Edina. They were great people. I had a good tour. They had many great activities, including yoga, lectures, and visits from various artists, including local musicians. In the same building, there is an indoor park and skating area, which is a great option for the winter. It is open to the community, so it's a great place to have your kids bring the grandkids to go skating and visit me. However, the rooms seemed small, and some common spaces needed updating."

"We moved into assisted living here. It's a brand-new building and it has so far been just fine. We're just kind of getting settled in. It's wonderful and it's really nice. The apartments are really nice. The staff is very good. The food and dining setup looks OK. They have a gym and craft room. They have an activities director who's doing a survey right now with all the new residents to see what activities they want. They offer daily grocery transportation and one-day-a-week rides to doctors appointments."

"Suite Living Memory Care & Assisted Living of Roseville has 25 rooms, so it's much easier. It seemed like a nice place so it's where my wife decided to go to, but then every place has their problems. There were only three people to take care of all the 25 rooms and do cooking because a bunch of people called in sick. The food's kind of a coin flip, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's just not the greatest. They have the people playing Bingo, different kinds of board games, and Yahtzee. Majority of the staff is pretty good, but some of them are questionable. The room my wife is in suits her right now, but they supposedly have bigger rooms there. She has her bed in there, a table by the side of her bed, a chair, a small refrigerator, a love seat, and a decent-sized bathroom."
