The residents were just interactive, happy, and welcoming. It just depends which room you get. Some have laundry, some don't, and it depends on the size of the room. But one thing about them, there's a buy-in option, but you can redecorate your room how you want it before you move in."

"CentraCare Monticello St. Benedict's Community was a very nice place. All of it. The layout, the staff, and the people that worked with you. The rooms were very clean. They had some nice courtyards and a big old theater where they watched movies. The menu looked very good. The staff was very friendly, very approachable, and willing to help."

"We visited Willows Landing Senior Living in Monticello and saw their independent living community. We are most interested in it because it's very close to my son. We're also impressed with the place, and everything looks nice. We talked with the marketing director. She was very gracious, answered our questions, and showed us a lot of places. They had a chapel, and they had another room where people were doing chair zumba. They had some exercise equipment and other things in there, I guess, for people wanting to have PT. She also showed us several different kinds of apartments and suites, and they look very nice."

"I have a senior waiver from the county, so they do come in and they help me with cleaning and laundry. I have my own nice size apartment with a living room, small kitchen, and quite a large bedroom. They have a few activities, but they don’t bother you to join -- they do invite you though. They just switched management and we got a very good deal with the new man in charge. It’s a beautiful building. If anyone were looking for a senior apartment I certainly would recommend this place. They have a therapist and exercises four times a week. They have an exercise room and an equipment room. They have different public rooms such as a library and a theatre room with a big screen TV and comfortable reclining chairs. It’s right on the Mississippi River and right outside my window I can sit and watch the swans all winter. The grounds are kept very pretty and there is a nice patio with lots of plants. "

"We toured Legacy of Delano. They were very engaged. The staff were very friendly. I enjoyed visiting with the residents. They seemed to have a nice social interaction thing going on, and I like that. They have excursions. However, it did not have some of the things that are on our wish list. For example, they don't have covered parking, heated parking, or anything like that. Nevertheless, I like the community, and I love how close it is to us. The dining area was nice. They have some accommodations for people that need meals, which is good, too. I want to get to the point where my parents don't have to cook and do some of those things, but I like to have the option that there's somewhere in the building where they could get something to eat and not have to leave. The rooms were nice but small. The staff is doing a good job with what they do. I don't have anything negative to say about the staff. They were awesome. They were friendly, informative, and fun. They took a lot of time with me, too, and I appreciate that. They have a lot of stuff going on for the residents. "

"My wife was at Engel Haus. It was a excellent care for the time she was there. The people that were working there were very helpful. Everything went fine with them. It was clean, and it was okay. There was good food and regular meals three times a day. It was well handled, too. They had a library, they had therapists who come in to visit my wife every couple of days to help her with her health problem. They had bingo and they had a band playing at different times. They had a card game going for the people, too. They had medical people and nurses who check in on my wife routinely. They were always checking to make sure that everything was okay. For the money, it's good."

"I like The Legacy of Saint Michael Senior Living because of its friendliness. The people are very, very congenial here. They do a great job and the place is clean. I really enjoy it. Their food is almost gourmet. They have a five-star kitchen. It is phenomenal. They have a meal for everybody that wants it for every lunch, breakfast, and dinner, but you can also substitute that with other items if you don't like what they're cooking. They just do a great job and they've got nice apartments. They're clean and they keep up the place beautifully. They have a lot of fun activities. They have bingo, musical, entertainment, and happy hour. They keep us busy. Pamela is really excellent. She is fantastic."

"My mother has moved into Haven Homes. It's stunning. It's beautiful. You walk in, and there's a nice reception desk on the right, and then a fireplace and chairs, and then the whole dining room is straight ahead with some nice tables. There's a room to the right of that, which is like a gathering room. Outside, they have nice lights and a deck. It's a very homey feeling. The staff is outstanding. They have a super beautiful sanctuary and a chapel. Everybody's so kind. The staff is amazing. They were voted number one last year for assisted living. They have bingo and movie night, they sing and ask questions, they have Bible study, they get their nails done, and they take them on field trips. They don't take a lot of field trips. They don't have their own bus because when they rebuilt right in COVID, they ended up spending more money on the building. They have buses that come when they take them on field trips now and then. The food is good. The value is really good. I've looked everywhere and it's probably the lowest price."

It's well kept, just exactly what we needed, and the cost was a big factor. "We liked the way The Wellstead of Rogers & Diamondcrest Senior Living presents itself as a home, as well as the services they offer, and the availability of everything like recreation and fellowship. Their one-bedrooms were not big nor smaller, but they would work. The place was clean. They had an underground tunnel from memory care to senior living, which was nice. We enjoyed all the aspects of the presentation, such as the layout of the rooms, its size, and cleanliness."

"I toured Riverview Landing - Otsego, and I will be moving to their assisted living in a week. It's just one big building with four floors, and I will be in a little apartment on the fourth floor. Meals are included if you pay extra. The place looks clean, as far as I can tell right now. The person who showed me around was very nice. She's the only one I've met, and she's very good. They have a pool and a pickleball court. They also have activities and take the residents to outings."

"Elk River Senior Living was very nice. They were very friendly, it was a beautiful place, but cost was an issue for us. It was brand new. We would have been the first people moving in. It's gorgeous, but my mother-in-law felt like the bedroom was small. They have a library and transportation."

"I liked the independent living aspect of Harrison Bay Senior Living. They had nice apartment units. The entire building was kept up nicely. It had a little pub downstairs and a coffee shop. In the restaurant, you could order off the menu or have a daily special. One meal a day was included in the price. Somebody on staff 24/7 was available. It was more of walking into an apartment or a condo rather than a nursing home. I only did a walk-through with a member of the management. She was very informative about additional care and how you never have to leave your home as you need additional care. They would just provide that an at additional cost. There were plenty of activities to do to get the residents out of their units and socialize. The location was extremely important for me. It was in a nice small-town atmosphere and the grounds were very pretty. It was just less than a mile to a grocery store."
