"I visited Suite Living of Anoka. It's clean and nice. The person during the tour was nice. The room was good. We didn't see the meals, but the dining room was good, and it was clean. It seemed to have enough activities. There were group games, crafts, and church."

"I toured Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and gave lots of good information. They didn't make me feel rushed. They were willing to take plenty of time to talk to me and answer my questions. I had a nice tour of the facility. The dining room was nicely setup. The building had a nice combination of bright places with a lot of natural light, but also areas that were a little more cozy feeling. It was a nice area. It had close access to roads, but yet was set in a place where there was a lot of good landscaping or scenery around. It was a pretty setting. You felt like you were away from the roads and things, but they were close by. It was during lunchtime, so they were starting to fill up the dining room. They said I was welcome to bring my mom back at a mealtime if I wanted. They had good laundry facilities. There was certain days of the week they had someone in for a beauty salon. They had games and books. They had an exercise room, a little theater room, and a nice little community room."

"My mother has moved into Personal Care Senior Living of Andover. I like that it was smaller. I think there are 30 residents there. It was clean and brand new. The sales pitch on all the other places we saw was about aesthetics, but we felt like my mom was going to be cared for here. It's hourly safety checks at night. The staff ratio is 1 to 5. It's a good safe environment for her as well. They have all kinds of activities, bingo, crafts, and little movies. I've seen them putting together puzzles and there were blocks. That wasn't a selling point for me, but I see the activities going on around me. They're all sitting around tables with helpers. We've only been there a week, but we are very pleased with it, with the nursing staff, the administrator, and how she handled everything. Everything's going well. Right now, we're very happy. Everything's kept up and clean and her room is clean, and the common areas are clean. It's all good."

"Moun Zion is a very quiet and clean home with very caring staff, food quality is good, rooms are cleaned daily, staff are always willing to assist the resident. I love this home."

"Cedar Crest of Silver Lake looked like a nice option, but it still had the feel of a nursing care facility. It was a beautiful location right on the lake. I got a great tour of the place. The son of the founder did a great job of showing me around. He was very, very friendly. He's been there pretty much his whole life because his Mom started it. He seemed to know everybody and everybody knew him. Everyone seemed very friendly and professional. The room was kind of small, and you could bring your own furniture. They had living spaces, living rooms, and dining areas where people could go. Another downside would be that none of the apartments had an independent shower. There was a toilet in the apartment, but everybody had to go through a bathing room, which I didn't like at all for my dad. He would not feel comfortable with that. Heating and cooling were not a problem, but they won't provide a refrigerator or anything like that."

"The rooms are older and small. The care is moderately good. The biggest complaint is that we purchased new comfortable clothing for him and within a week all but one item we purchased “disappeared” never to be seen again. They also “lost” a sweatshirt that was very dear to him. It is obvious that they randomly distribute clothing to other patients as we often arrived and he was wearing items that were not his own. I would be very wary of this place."

"My parents moved into Haven Wood in June 2023. Sadly, my mom passed away that fall, and I was initially concerned about how my dad would manage living on his own. Fortunately, he truly loves it at Haven Wood. The facility and rooms are top-notch, and my dad can’t say enough good things about the food — both the quality and variety are excellent. He especially appreciates the willingness of the kitchen staff to accommodate "off-menu" requests, which makes meals feel more personal and enjoyable. While there has been quite a bit of staff turnover, everyone has been exceptionally kind and attentive to my dad, and I’m deeply grateful for the care he’s received."

"We toured Suite Living of Brooklyn Park. When you walk in the door, it's very inviting, very hospitable. You felt comfortable. It was pretty. The girl who took us on the tour was very knowledgeable and forthcoming. We were happy with the facility. It was a smaller facility, so I think my mom would get good care. The rooms are nice for her to be in. If I had to choose a place, it would probably be that place. It's very clean and updated."

"My uncle moved into the Suite Living of Crystal. He is in the memory care portion, and it's locked down. He has his own room and restroom. It's kind of the size of an efficiency apartment. It's one room, and it's perfect for him. So far, the interaction with the staff has been positive. Everyone's been helpful. They have activities. My uncle has meals that are included, so they make sure that he eats. They assist him with his bathing and toileting in the mornings. This location doesn't have a gym area or courtyard. They have open areas for people to sit in, meet with others, and socialize. It was the most financially acceptable for us."

"I had an in-person tour of the Haven at Peace Village. I sort of like the place because it's on the way home. I could go by easily, so I could stop more often. It was a really nice place. I was impressed with the rooms, and I would have put my parents there. The staff was very nice and well informed, told me a lot about their food services, and their choices for meals. The dining room looked very nice. It was well set up. It looked like it had everything you needed. They had one or two choices for meals."

"The memory care at Covenant Living of Golden Valley was a separate building with its own little courtyard. So, it was a lot smaller, but then it's also a smaller facility over there. They have a lot of nice features, things that would help anyone, like a beautician to do hair and woodworking for men. It seems like there's a lot of activities planned for people and that they're well organized. The facility looked very nice and very well kept. We visited with Willie and he was a very nice person, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. There was interaction as we passed by with the other people that work there, too. So, it seemed like everyone enjoyed their job and was enjoying what they were doing. We saw three or four dining areas. We looked at the menu and they had a lot of options. They told us that if there is anything on the menu that someone does not like, they serve the breakfast items all day long, so no one should go hungry. Everything was prepared on site, which was a huge plus. It's not container food."

"I visited Copperfield Hill, it was nice and the neighborhood was good. It was family-owned and seemed like they had a lot of activities, and different levels of care so you could transition. They were good. The person who showed me around was very nice, real, open, and not pushy or cold. Different areas of the building changed a little bit, like when you get into the lower-income, that seemed a little less high-quality. They're one of the two places I liked the best."
