"We liked the way The Wellstead presents itself as a home, as well as the services they offer, and the availability of everything like recreation and fellowship. Their one-bedrooms were not big nor smaller, but they would work. The place was clean. They had an underground tunnel from memory care to senior living, which was nice. We enjoyed all the aspects of the presentation, such as the layout of the rooms, its size, and cleanliness."

"I visited Suite Living of Ramsey. They were very, very nice except that a lot of them were from foreign countries, which I have no problem with at all, but my sister has difficulty speaking clearly due to a brain injury. I had a hard time understanding them, and I know that she would and that they would have a hard time with her because she doesn't speak very well. The staff was very friendly. They greeted me. When we did the tour there, they were all eating lunch, and they were just very, very nice. They have lunch with the people. They're there in case they start choking or if they need assistance. I liked it all. I just didn't think the communication was gonna work. Otherwise, it was a beautiful place. Everything is included in there. They don't get charged extra. The amenities are great. The activity director was bubbly, and they just had a Halloween party. She said, "I wish you would have been here an hour earlier. You could have been to our party." I'm in the process of filling out all that paperwork for them so that they can meet her needs. It is very clean. It is a smaller place, so I think they have more time to devote to the people. They have games. They have devotion hour every day, which I like. They also have music coming in all the time. They have a meet-and-greet activity or just hang out on a Friday night. They have crafts. I've seen some of the food that they had, and I asked one lady who lived there, "How's your food? How's your lunch?" She said, "It's so good here, the food's great." The place is very spotless, clean, and very well laid out."

"Stoney River is absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is very comfortable and not hospital-like. It's homier. It has little communities and common areas that have hairdressers, cookie shops, coffee shops, and TV rooms. It's laid out wonderfully, very comfortable, and casual. It doesn't have any kind of a sterile or clinical or institutional feel to it at all. They have assisted living and memory care. My mother loves the food. It's a place that I personally would want to be if I needed to have assisted care. We're really happy."

"We had a very good experience moving my parents in. Though we are giving five stars, it might have helped to understand the Ambassador program better. Maybe we missed something that was explained to us but I don’t remember how the introduction between the ambassador and my parents was going to happen. A couple people told us who the assigned ambassador was but we never met him in the week we were there. Again, we might have missed something information that was available to us, but some information about how to get new residents familiar with wayfinding would be helpful. Maybe there aren’t any tricks for way finding except repetition."

"I have found Suite Living of Maple Grove for myself. It's five minutes away from my sister. It's nice. It's one level. It only has 12 residents for assisted living and then 12 residents for memory care. They're very nice and really polite there, and I like that about them, and then I can volunteer there too anytime I want. I can do bingo, and if somebody's sick or doesn't wanna do it, I can do that for them. There's painting, coloring, and games, and all this other fun stuff. It's a lot of fun. I'm so excited. They're very caring and nice to me. The staff member who gave the tour was very nice and outgoing and answered all my questions. She was very polite and considerate. The nurse that came over and talked with me said, "You're a good fit," and she was very polite and kind too. The dining area was very beautiful and very clean. The physical appearance of the facility was perfect."

"My sister will be moving into Suite Living of Anoka. It is smaller. I like the idea that she'll have more one-on-one time with people there. I liked how it's just one floor. If she eventually needs to go to memory care, the memory care is in another part of it. I like how the rooms are just studio. Their activities program and their therapy impressed me. The people so far that I've met there, even the residents, were very kind. The physical therapy staff and the activities directors came and spoke to her, and were just really, really kind. My sister really liked them. The atmosphere and everything there seemed just perfect for my sister. The staff during the tour was fantastic. They're accommodating her really well. They came to where she's at now with a nurse, and they asked her all different questions to see how she could get around, how she gets in and out of bed because she's in a wheelchair, how she moves her wheelchair, and how she gets in and out of the shower. They're just really attentive to her and checking her out. The activities director came and spoke to her, telling her that she could do this, and that, and so on. I could tell my sister was impressed with them and how kind they were to her. She's kind of introverted, where she doesn't reach out to people, and I liked how she was doing that with these people. She felt comfortable. It's very clean and very organized. The people that I've seen sitting in the lounge areas and in the dining room were laughing and teasing each other. I probably met four of the staff, and they were all very, very, very nice, friendly, outgoing, and welcoming of my sister. It was very pleasant. It was very nicely laid out. They went in and right away repainted that room for her, and already are thinking of where we could put this and that. They had some really good ideas. I liked it a lot."

"My mother has moved into Personal Care Senior Living of Andover. I like that it was smaller. I think there are 30 residents there. It was clean and brand new. The sales pitch on all the other places we saw was about aesthetics, but we felt like my mom was going to be cared for here. It's hourly safety checks at night. The staff ratio is 1 to 5. It's a good safe environment for her as well. They have all kinds of activities, bingo, crafts, and little movies. I've seen them putting together puzzles and there were blocks. That wasn't a selling point for me, but I see the activities going on around me. They're all sitting around tables with helpers. We've only been there a week, but we are very pleased with it, with the nursing staff, the administrator, and how she handled everything. Everything's going well. Right now, we're very happy. Everything's kept up and clean and her room is clean, and the common areas are clean. It's all good."

"We had my mom ready to go into Cornerstone Assisted Living, but we'd have to put her into memory care there. Having seen other memory cares, it's probably the best one but that's a drastic change, and it's not an environment I would want to put my mother in at this point. It's a very nice community, and the assisted living was beautiful. We toured the assisted area where they have a dining area, a solarium and activities. It was very nice. My mom would have to be sent down into the lower level, which they lock up unless family comes. It's a newer community, but the memory care rooms were pretty small, which my mother doesn't like. They also wouldn't allow pets, and that was a big deal for her too, and that was probably the last straw for her. From what I understand, it's normal for any memory care community."

"We toured Suite Living of Brooklyn Park. When you walk in the door, it's very inviting, very hospitable. You felt comfortable. It was pretty. The girl who took us on the tour was very knowledgeable and forthcoming. We were happy with the facility. It was a smaller facility, so I think my mom would get good care. The rooms are nice for her to be in. If I had to choose a place, it would probably be that place. It's very clean and updated."

"I visited many centers in my search for the best place for my wife. When we got there she didn't even want to go inside. I was afraid that was the beginning of the end and my guilt was magnified. Now, 3 months later, she considers it home and loves it there. She told me on a recent visit that it was nice to have me home. When I told her what a beautiful home she has she simply said"I know I do. The staff, food and facility itself are outstanding. I know I made the right choice. It isn't cheap, but it's worth every penny to me to know that she is happy and well cared for. I can't say enough about the quality of the care she receives."

"Ecumen Prairie Lodge just had all studio apartments. They were about 100 to 300 square feet (300 was the largest). They were way too small, and I wasn't interested in that. They also had no kitchens. All they had was a small bedroom with a bath. They had a big lunchroom, a lobby where people hung out, and an exercise room with a few bikes and things. I didn't see any activity rooms or things to keep people busy. It was a one floor facility, and there weren't a lot of rooms, maybe 30. They all had a grassy area right outside their windows. It felt kind of homey, if the rooms were just bigger. The manager who took me around was very kind and very nice."

"St. Benedict's Senior Community in Monticello is a beautiful place, but it's out of my price range, or I would have moved in there. The person who showed me around did a beautiful job. "My dad moved into the Willows Landing Senior Living. The location was really good for some family members. The facility was very clean and modern. They were doing a temperature check and oxygen level for every visitor coming into the building. I assume they were doing something similar for the staff. They were doing a check of the residents every few days."

"We chose Cherrywood of Big Lake for my mother-in-law. It's a nice area, residential. The staff is real friendly, and helpful. She is eating more, and she said the food is good. It's nicely kept up, clean, and has no foul smells, or anything. Her room is very nice. She enjoys the activities. They keep her active and up. It's a very secure area. They do go outside, as a group, or with assistance. They have a haircut and a barbershop. They allow refrigerators in their rooms. She's got a landline phone I guess, she just got in, and it's a nice place."

"My wife was at Engel Haus. It was a excellent care for the time she was there. The people that were working there were very helpful. Everything went fine with them. It was clean, and it was okay. There was good food and regular meals three times a day. It was well handled, too. They had a library, they had therapists who come in to visit my wife every couple of days to help her with her health problem. They had bingo and they had a band playing at different times. They had a card game going for the people, too. They had medical people and nurses who check in on my wife routinely. They were always checking to make sure that everything was okay. For the money, it's good."

"The facility was only a few years old when my grandma was there and it was beautiful inside and out. We almost always had our young children with us when we would visit and they loved to be there. We all have good memories of that time. We could visit in the apartment, in common areas or take a walk outside. There was a "coffee shop" where the kids could sometimes get ice cream cones. The staff was friendly and welcoming and many knew us by name. Our family felt comfortable leaving Grandma in the care of the Guardian Angels staff, this brought peace of mind when we had to be away from her. There were very few concerns during the time grandma lived there and when issues arose the staff addressed them immediately. One example was when there was no staff available at the front desk, a problem that was resolved after the first inquiry. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful facility and staff. "
