"St. Benedict's Senior Community in Monticello has apartments for independent living. They also have assisted living and memory care. It's very upscale, and an almost elegant place. The person who gave me the tour was very helpful. I even had a second tour with my daughter. The dining area is fairly small, but it was very clean, and there are not a lot of people. They showed me the store, the salon, the library, post office, and all those things."

"Mississippi Shores is very nice and clean. All of the residents that I've had the chance to talk are were very pleased with the place. The atmosphere was upbeat. The person who assisted us was very good. He wasn't available when I went the first day because I didn't have an appointment. When I visited later, he was very helpful, showed me the place, and explained everything. The dining area was nice. I saw some people playing cards, and they have a library and a beauty facility."

"One bedroom apartment had nice layout with 3 nice size windows for natural light and outside views. Food good quality and nice portions. Caring staff that worked with our family to insure that my dad was receiving the best cares/services possible related to his dementia diagnoses. Staff available to answer any questions or concerns we had."

"We’ve placed mother in Engel Haus. It has been very good. She does have her own apartment. Because the facility was new, the apartments are extremely clean, and it made it a little bit easier for her to meet new people. The staff is very caring, and they go out of their way to involve the people in the activities. They have coffee and cookies every afternoon at 2 o’clock. They have Wii bowling and sing-alongs. They’ve had local community actors come in. They’re doing a talent show. "

"The Legacy of Saint Michael Senior Living was excellent. They have great food. They have good programs in place. Their apartments looked very adequate. They provide around-the-clock nursing care. The dining staff was very friendly and the lady who took us on our tour knew what she was talking about. They were very good to me. It's very expensive; that's its downfall."

"We chose Riverview Landing-Otsego because my husband is just young and they have a lot of amenities that were pleasing for him. They have a pool, a fitness area, a pickleball court, a basketball court, a putting green, a lot of walking paths, and biking paths that are available for him. Then they have a library and just so many amenities. They took an excursion on the Lake Minnetonka (a boat ride) and then they have many days where they have cards, bingo or bridge. They also have bowling, and just today, I think they went to the state fair. They planned a lot of events. I'm also able to join the wellness center that they have so I can work out with him, help him, and swim with him. So, there were just so many things that were available. Their staff is amazing. They're so friendly and so accommodating, and he's very happy with the food. The place is beautiful. You feel like you're walking in to a hotel rather than a facility for care. One thing that I really like about the care is that the nurses don't look like they're nurses. They wear plain clothes with a name tag. So, it doesn't look like you're in nursing care. It looks like it's your home rather than a care facility. I like that part of it and he likes that part of it, too. The amenities are amazing and the building is beautiful. I toured a lot of places and called on them to find out what their costs were, and the costs at Riverview Landing-Otsego are very comparable considering everything that is available for my husband. They're fairly priced for what they have to offer."

"My father has moved into Elk River Senior Living. I thought it was a nice place. There seems to be a lot of good staff and they have a lot of activities and it was close to me. He's in memory care. They have four-plate settings per table and they set a nice table with a goblet and a coffee cup and everything. They only have one choice of the meal though. They have a beauty salon, a theater room, and an activity room. It was so expensive, but I think it's a very nice, neat, and homey facility. There's a lot of help and they seem to always be on the ball and always seem to be around."

"My mother-in-law is in Heritage Place. We chose it for the friendliness and the people there. We liked the size of the room. It's well kept, just exactly what we needed, and the cost was a big factor. They have an activity room, they have coffee, they play bingo, they bring in food occasionally, and connect with the senior center in Rogers for other activities."

"Mother is living in The Legacy and she's doing well there. She's exactly one mile away from me, which is really nice. It is convenient for me and familiar to her. We are able to get the largest one-bedroom there. They have a ton of activities every single day and she starts getting busy with an exercise group that exercises in the morning. They have trips on Thursday. She participates in ecumenical services. There is one thing that we are not thrilled about and that is when you live there, you are 100% in their food program. My mother is night owl. She's never an early bird. So, she never eats the breakfast. So, that's one-third of the meal that she didn't eat. The other two meals, they do a heavier meal at lunch and a lighter meal at night. I think we like that flip-flop. We meet with the food people and they say they are going to change some things around and they have not. I think there's too much for carbs and too many food preparers and not enough for cooks and chefs. I think the quality can be better on the food. As far to the facility and the attentiveness on a scale of one to five I will say a four for sure. The one thing that knocks them down is the food. They come every Monday to clean her individual apartment. It is very clean and when she a have different issue like with the air-conditioner, they are there within minutes which is nice. "

"My mother is here. I like that she is very well taken care of, so there aren't any worries. The rooms are very nice and clean with a bathroom and a separate dining area, and she has a window. It is nice and cheerful. The food looks OK. She gets a well-balanced diet with meat, vegetables, a little butter, and dessert. "

"We toured The Homestead at Anoka, and I liked it. They were very good, it was just very nice and very clean, and the people were very nice. They had bingo, arts, and several other things. They also have a happy hour, I believe. They have hair washing, manicures, and everything, like everywhere else."

"It was nice, and everybody was nice and friendly. It’s close to downtown. They got a lady tap dancing when we there, and that was fun. They’ve got a bus that can take you places. I didn’t put my name on the list because I need to pay."

"The Legends of Champlin has a lot of things available. However, you have to pay for underground parking. A friend of mine lives there, that's why I went and checked on them in the first place. Their apartments are not necessarily resident-friendly. For instance, the three-bedroom corner unit got a lot of square footage, but there's not a wall that you could put a queen size bed in with two end tables. The rooms were cut up strangely. I also felt I was being rushed during the tour. Other than that, the tour still went fine. They are considerably cheaper than the rest. They got multiple clubs started by residents, happy hour on Fridays, a workout room, a beauty shop, and a theater."

"Haven Homes is fairly new, which is nice. The staff were awesome. They introduced me to some of the residents who were doing jigsaw puzzles. I had a really good time there, and I think my in-laws would have a good time, too, in that environment. It seems like they're doing a good job of keeping people engaged. They are one of the top contenders right now. I would give them high marks on atmosphere, activities, and amenities. It is a very nice facility with great people. I like the residents; they seem to like the place, too."
