"I went to the open house. The staff was nice and well informed. The place was very pretty too. They had it opened up, so people could come and see the different rooms and apartments. During that time, they served coffee and cookies. I was not able to eat there, but the food seemed fine. They also had activities that kept the residents very busy. They had an exercise area and a chapel too."

"I picked Copperfield Assisted Living for my husband. It's close by and looks nice; my daughter and I like it. The room is fine, like a little apartment with a kitchenette. There are two rooms for two men who will be in separate rooms but share a bath. He's moving there soon. "

"The rooms are older and small. The care is moderately good. The biggest complaint is that we purchased new comfortable clothing for him and within a week all but one item we purchased “disappeared” never to be seen again. They also “lost” a sweatshirt that was very dear to him. It is obvious that they randomly distribute clothing to other patients as we often arrived and he was wearing items that were not his own. I would be very wary of this place."

"The Wellstead was great and really nice. I was ready to move in myself. The people were friendly and helpful. We had a full tour. "

"I liked Rose Arbor & Wildflower Lodge. It sort of ticked all the boxes for me. The gal I talked to there was very helpful and very friendly. It's a good possibility. It was just a little bit over what I wanted to pay. The thing I liked best was the location. The thing I liked least is it was a little spartan, but it was perfectly acceptable to live in. I thought from the pictures it might be a little more luxurious, but it was perfectly fine. I liked the layout of the two units I looked at very much, and they were very updated. They seemed to have a very established program for helping people transition from independent to assisted. One of the things that impressed me most was the woman I spoke with. She spent a lot of time answering my questions about that type of thing, which I really needed to understand. I didn't try the food, but it smelled pretty good. They had all kinds of entertainment, billiards, libraries, and computer labs. She talked about different activities and outings that they do. I like to volunteer, and they have a lot of opportunities to volunteer and help inside the facility. They also arrange for people from the facility to go volunteer in other places."

"We chose Covenant Living of Golden Valley. We liked how happy everyone was, the involvement of people in the community, and the interactions that people had with each other. The residents were just interactive, happy, and welcoming. It just depends which room you get. Some have laundry, some don't, and it depends on the size of the room. But one thing about them, there's a buy-in option, but you can redecorate your room how you want it before you move in."

"We have moved my mom in. It is close to where I am, and that's important. The place seems clean and friendly. They have activities. Like this week, the residents went to one of the local casinos, and a couple of weeks ago, they took my mom on a tour. They had a luau for families and friends, and they had music during that event. The food is good. It is usually fresh. They have a lot of vegetables and fruits. They have very good staff."

"The rooms were wonderful, well laid out and surprisingly larger than I imagined they would be. Kitchen and appliances looked exceptional. The lunch was also wonderful and service was great. I certainly did not expect what I encountered at Havenwood. The tour given was outstanding! The staff was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. All questions I had were answered. All the residents I encountered appeared happy and well cared for. The only reason for a 4 star rating, was I noticed some water spotting on the glassware and there appeared to be some notable footprints in some of the common areas. Other than that, it is a wonderful facility and the tour was fantastic!"

"Cherrywood Pointe of Forest Lake was beautiful and had a great setup for taking care of their residents. The rooms were spacious and designed well. We have not tried the food, but we saw the dining area, and it was very nice. I met the lady who gave me a tour, and she was very pleasant and friendly. They had a spa room as well as an exercise room. "

"Ecumen Parmly was very nice. They did not have availability. The community was larger, everything was clean and neat, everybody was friendly, and the residents seemed happy. They have a lot of activities. There were more residents, and they have more community involvement. "

"We looked at Lindstrom Senior Living, and that was a nice facility. The one that we looked at was on the second floor, the very end unit, and it seemed like just to get to the center of the building was about a half mile long. It really isn't, it just seemed that way. It's a long hallway. They had a full kitchen, and we looked at a two-bedroom, two-bath. It was about a little over a thousand square feet. Whereas the one we're at now is just a studio apartment that's 350 square feet. It's a nice, clean building. It's fairly new; it's four years old. The thing that I liked there was that the dining was more restaurant-style. Instead of having everybody at a long table, you had four residents at one table, and you could order off the menu, whereas here, you take what you get. The person who took us around was very good, warm, and outgoing. They did everything to show us the way. In Lindstrom, they put a plate at the entrance with the meal on it that you're going to have, so you can see ahead of time what it will look like and what it will be, which was helpful."

"I will be moving into Oak Hills Manor. It's a smaller community. There were probably 30 to 40 units there. It's quiet and friendly. The staff was very congenial and explained the facility well. They showed me everything. The apartment was spacious compared to many of them that I had seen. It's an older apartment building, so it's not the latest in appliances and stuff like that; that's not a big deal for me. It had garage parking and storage available. The parking was extra, but the storage wasn't. They had seating areas throughout the building. The apartment was well kept. They have a maintenance man, and I know that the manager does some of the maintenance, too. They were working outside with the grounds when I came, so I'm sure they are doing a good job."

"We're on a waiting list for Waverly Gardens. They have a lot of activities. There were shops like a wood shop and paint shop, and we can keep busy with exercises. It was very good and clean, the staff member was very courteous, and very informative. Everything was good there."
