What ongoing training does the staff receive in dementia care?
All state required training is kept up to date along with any necessary trainings to assist our residents with their needs.
Describe the overall population of assisted living residents at Morningside House of St. Charles. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?
We welcome residents 65 and older but our average resident is 82 We have a wide range of exciting events but our favorites are happy hour, bingo and outings.
What programs or activities does Morningside House of St. Charles offer to enrich residents' well-being?
Keeping our residents happy and fulfilled is important. We offer exercise classes held in the lodge daily. We also want to be sure and engage our resident's spiritual side with church groups on Wednesdays and regular bible study
What places are near Morningside House of St. Charles or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?
The residents of Morningside are lucky to have plenty of shopping and walking trails close by.
What transportation services does Morningside House of St. Charles offer to assisted living residents?
Two transportations to local doctor visits are included in monthly rent. Our activity program also includes transportation of groups to local restaurants, scenic drives and destination activities.
What makes the chef or dining program at Morningside House of St. Charles exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted living residents expect?
Our home cooked meals are made on site and include several local favorites. We also have an alternate menu available.
What safety features or security measures does Morningside House of St. Charles offer to assisted living residents?
Pull cords are placed in each resident apartment . We also offer individual pendants for residents who require or request them.
How does Morningside House of St. Charles keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
Regular care planning meetings are held as well as family emails and phone calls.
What is the care staff-to-resident ratio at Morningside House of St. Charles during daytime and nighttime hours?
Our staffing depends on our resident's care needs and is adjusted as needed. We also have a Nurse in the community 7 days a week
If Morningside House of St. Charles accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
Yes, we are a Pet Friendly community. Our furry friends have a lovely outside area with benches and shady trees.

How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?
Our staffing is determined by our residents' needs. During the daytime 1:8 along with 7 days a week of on-site nursing.
What safety features or security measures does Morningside House of St. Charles provide to protect residents who wander?
We have a lovely area specially designed for our residents who have a tendency to wander or have memory issues.
What programs or activities does Morningside House of St. Charles offer to keep residents engaged? How does the staff engage residents' long-term memories?
Our residents' physical and emotional well-being is important to us at Morningside House. Favorite activities include both 1 on 1 and group activities. They include- balloon volleyball, dancing to oldies, sip and scent along with crafts and singing.
Who assesses residents' health and cognitive functioning? How often is that assessment repeated?
All residents are assessed before and at move in. There is also a 30 day assessment done after move in and every 45 days afterwards. Assessments are also done when there is a change in a residents' care needs.
What techniques does Morningside House of St. Charles use to support memory care residents during mealtimes?
A calm, distraction free environment is provided for our residents. Residents are provided with reminders and hands on assistance as needed.

We have the best of both worlds! We are located in a residential and light business area.

We are not affiliated with any outside entities, however, we have strong relationships with local hospices, home health agencies, etc.
