I'm in a three-story apartment building for people 55 and older on a fixed income and it's Thornbury Pointe. We have bible study once a week, we have cards a couple times a week, we have Friday night movies. There are activities. People just get together and talk. The staff is very good. Our manager loves to cook and so she'll fix lunch for everybody. We have a nice kitchen. It has a dishwasher, a nice stove, and a microwave. It's gas heat and gas hot water. The maintenance man here is very nice and very knowledgeable in how things go. That's the only two staff members we have. The people here all get along pretty well. We tend to help each other if somebody is down or sick. We try to take them down to dinner, or if they feel like they're closed in, we'll all go out to lunch or something like that. We help each other. And then besides the three-story building, they also have some cottages with garages. You can rent a garage there. In this building the mail comes to the first floor in our mailboxes. Packages are delivered to our door. We have trash bins at the end of the building. It's very well-maintained and clean. The layout is very good. You come in the main door and there's an elevator that takes you up to the second and third floor. And as you get off the elevator, there are signs to tell you which way the apartments are or whatever apartment you're looking for. The value for the money is pretty good, and we have just received Section 8 clearance.

I have decided to stay at Thornbury Pointe Senior Apartment Homes. I love this community. It's nice. However, they don't have a washer and dryer inside the apartments. They have that on your level but in a separate place. And they don't have a patio or deck or anything, so that's another one. But other than that, everything is great here, the people and the atmosphere. The place is nice and neat. It's a nice place. I would recommend anybody to come here. You prepare your own food, but they have activities. They have movies on Friday night. They have bingo. We all go out to lunch once a month or so. For every holiday, the lady running the place has a dinner or a party, like a Christmas party or Thanksgiving dinner. Every holiday, she has dinner, and it is nice. I have been here for a year and a half now. If you have any complaints or anything wrong, they're here for you. They're good. The staff is very good. The maintenance is good, too. This place is the cleanest I have ever had. They vacuum floors once a week. He even goes on the elevator, and they clean it. It smells so good, you knew they cleaned it. They clean the break room and the sitting room on each level, and they are really good. Everything is nice, neat and clean. The activities are good. I don't interact with their activities because I have a family and so when I have stuff, I would be going someplace else. But I think the activities are good and I haven't heard anybody complain about it. With regards to value for money, they go by your income, so you know it's good. If they didn't go by your income, I wouldn't be able to get a place with my income.
