"We moved to The Legacy because of the amenities, the facilities, and so forth. We feel comfortable here. The staff is excellent. The food is satisfactory. They've got a lot to deal with a lot of different tastes, and they make a very good effort and we're happy with it. There are a lot of programs here, lectures, theater, movies, parties, receptions, events, and so forth. So, we're pretty busy. We have a two bedroom with a kitchen and a balcony."

"Carriage Glen was a nice place, but they didn't offer a lot of extra activities, like church services. It seemed very elite, but my mother-in-law was not like that. It was nice, though. The dining area was small. Most of the people eat in their apartments because they have full kitchen facilities. They only bring in food four nights a week for evening meals, so I don't particularly care for that. If you're retired and in your 60s, I would say Carriage Glen is a perfect place to go, but if you need assistance and a little extra help, it's not. I think it's for younger people."

"I have found Legacy Estates for myself. I moved in a couple of days ago. The reason I chose them is more because of their concern for older people and their interest in making them, at this stage in their life, a good, compatible place to be. It's good care. I'm pleased to do this, and I'm pleased to be here. I'm sitting in my living room, and there are three of the staff members who have come in. One to do some maintenance things, one to welcome me in, and one to make sure everything was okay. They are here indeed for us and to make us as comfortable as possible, and so you can tell that by the way they visit. The wait staff, as far as the dining is concerned, is outstanding. They provide wonderful food with a big selection of choices. There are lots of activities. I haven't been here long enough to participate in them, but there's a whole calendar of things that you can do, and that's wonderful. That's excellent. Not only field trips, but they're also doing all sorts of things within the building. Tomorrow, there is some big hoop-dee-doo that they are getting ready for. I don't know exactly what it is, but it seems like they are really providing lots of extra things in activities and so forth for the residents. It's good. I would give them the highest rating."

"Landing at Williamsburg Village was a very nice place. The staff during the tour was lovely. The rooms were very nice. We had dinner, and it was very good. They had swimming and Silver Sneakers. You had to buy into it, which was a huge amount."

"The Knolls Retirement Community is wonderful. My sister's room is very nice. The staff is very nice, too. It doesn't have the feel of being a nursing home. My sister plays bingo. They also have singing, church streaming, entertainment, and baking. The community is very clean. The food is excellent."

"My father stayed at Legacy Terrace Retirement Community. It was a beautiful facility. We had no complaints whatsoever. His room was small, but that was really all he needed. I had no complaints with the staff. They were fabulous, very caring, attentive, very patient, and very kind. The food was good. The dining area was beautiful. They had people come in that played music. They had a dog that they brought in for people to pet. They had travelogs, and they had exercise classes."

"Yankee Hill Village Home is a super clean facility that's on one level. It's very cozy and home-like. The staff is great, they make everybody feel very welcome from the very beginning. My mother-in-law is going into a memory care unit, so they're small but comfortable, and adequate for her needs. I don't want her sitting in the room all the time, so this encourages her to get out and be active with other residents and join activities. But at the same time, it's comfortable for her to just go in if she wants to be alone, or watch TV in her own apartment, then she's more than capable of doing that. The food was very good. It was a restaurant-style setting in the independent and assisted living area. And then in the memory care unit, it is family-style seating, so they get to be closer to each other and be able to have conversations while they're eating. It was quite a menu. They have a beauty salon, they have two in-house chapels, a wellness center, and they have a Friday afternoon club that they call Happy Hour with live entertainment. They also have various group activities as far as crafts, puzzles, and Bible studies. The staff has been absolutely wonderful and we're very happy with the facility."

"We went to Haven Manor. We toured the whole building. It wasn't a very homey place to be. The decor, the structure, and the hallways weren't homey. The dining room is one long area, but it's a hallway, too, to other places in the building. The staff who gave the tour was very friendly and informative."
