Nursing Home Communities in Beatrice, NE

"Good Samaritan Society - Samaritan Springs is a very nice facility. I was only in there once when we moved my brother in. He seems very happy there. The food seems good. The COVID has made it tough. He had to quarantine for two weeks and he can't leave except to go to the doctor, so we don't get to see him. It will be pretty nice when they are able to open back up. He has a one-bedroom with a nice, large bathroom, a living area with a little kitchenette at the one end. He's got his computer, TV, recliner, chair, and a little kitchen table. There are different types of rooms. There's a bigger one-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom apartment. He has plenty of room for what he needs, a nice view out to the garden, he has access to the exercise equipment now, and he's pretty happy about that. The staff is very nice and very informed. The nurse has been great about making sure I remember his appointments and what time. She's on top of things. I've met the lady in-charge, and she's very caring. They seem to know their stuff really well, and they're taking good care of him. They have a beautiful garden and a courtyard out the back. When things open, there's a dining room that you can have your family there to eat, but COVID got everything locked up. It's very clean and well kept. It's fairly new, just a few years old. They did some things for the Halloween."

"I really liked Gold Crest Retirement. The staff seemed happy, and the rooms were big. There was physical therapy. They had a lot of things in house that I really, really liked. It was clean and it was inviting. I thought that it was really nice, they were really professional, and the people were happy. I was really impressed with it. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it was really out of the way for my family. They had a living room and then they had a bedroom. I can't remember the dimensions, but it seemed to be pretty comfortable. They were really kind and very respectful. It was during this COVID thing, and the staff was respectful of making sure that we weren't too close to them, that we all had our masks, and that we were aware of everybody's safety. They gave us the tour, and they were just very professional and very kind. I know that they had activities."

"The staff is wonderful, it's a small community so everyone is familiar with everyone and knows each other. The rooms seem too small to share, most of the permanent residents do have a their own rooms. The highlight of my dad's stay was the barber that would come through and take care of his hair, and the days that the nurses would bath him. He said it's like sitting into a hot tub that gets everything clean. He said most of the food is good, of course it's nothing like a home cooked meel. They have finches living in large cages in most of the common areas, and a resident cat which was very soothing. Overall, a nice place. "

"We moved our dad to Lakeview Living. They've been wonderful and very responsive. I would highly recommend them. It seems very well maintained, supportive, has compassionate staff, and is in a rural setting with lovely views of a nearby lake. I understand they have bingo, and in a pre-COVID world they had community entertainment. I assume that will start back up after we're clear of this pandemic. He has a very special diet, and they're very accommodating. They asked for a list of foods he can eat, and they worked around that. So they're very, very helpful. It's all pricey, but it's a facility where they charge one price and don't charge on every little thing. So there's some comfort in that rather than not knowing. You understand what your bill will be at the end of the month, which is a bit of a comfort. This place includes all services. You've got good staff, and there's a cost for good care. He's there for assisted living, but they offer care up to or comparable to a nursing home living if you need them."

"My uncle is in Gardenside Ltc-jchc. He's in a really good place, he likes it. Nurses are good. They keep me very informed. They call me weekly. He likes the food. I don't get to see the rooms because of COVID. We only can meet in certain places, but it was nice. He tells me, they do activities all the time, so he likes it. They play games, right now he's doing physical therapy, he doesn't do activities too much. It's affordable for him and he gets good care."
