We moved our dad to Lakeview Living. They've been wonderful and very responsive. I would highly recommend them. It seems very well maintained, supportive, has compassionate staff, and is in a rural setting with lovely views of a nearby lake. I understand they have bingo, and in a pre-COVID world they had community entertainment. I assume that will start back up after we're clear of this pandemic. He has a very special diet, and they're very accommodating. They asked for a list of foods he can eat, and they worked around that. So they're very, very helpful. It's all pricey, but it's a facility where they charge one price and don't charge on every little thing. So there's some comfort in that rather than not knowing. You understand what your bill will be at the end of the month, which is a bit of a comfort. This place includes all services. You've got good staff, and there's a cost for good care. He's there for assisted living, but they offer care up to or comparable to a nursing home living if you need them.

My journey went very fast in placing a relative in assisted living. I used a local service that helps make the search much easier. Only looked at one place. We visited one week and he loved it so we reserved it and he moved in the next week and seems to be very happy. This is a small facility, in a small town about 20 miles south of Lincoln NE (28) residents so he will become acquainted very fast. Didn't want anything big or right in Lincoln and this is only about 20 miles from my home so will make for easy commuting.
