I chose the Independence House at Northview because of the staff and the size of the facility. It is a smaller home and the staff really impresses me. Since my dad arrived, I have seen marked differences in his ability to walk. I think they have done a better job with nursing and with his medicines, and he seems a little bit mentally sharper, too. They really give personalized care to the residents, they take an interest in them, and they take all the time in the world with them. My dad really seems to be enjoying it. They have arts, games, and some walking exercise. The facility has wide hallways, no stairs, and it is kind of set up in a circle from the dining to the den, then down the halls and to the residents' rooms, and then back to the game room and the dining again. I know my dad enjoys walking, and so it is a nice layout for his walking path.

Independence House at Northview was very typical, comfortable, and nice. I was not displeased with it. There were lots of staff present. When I got the tour, there were residents sitting at tables, and involved in activities. The rooms were a nice size, the layout was good, and there was easy access. I would've felt comfortable placing my parents there. They had a large sitting room/living room area available with a TV, and there were some books and shelves.

My mom is currently at Independence House at Northview, and it's a good place. The rooms are fine, and the staff is good. The price was one of the reasons why we chose it as well as care and their activities.

I would recommend Independence House at Northview Pines very highly to anyone out here. I have heard the reputation of the chef, his name is very prevalent in the area, so I'm not worried about the food at all. The staff members did quite well, and they're very attentive to the residents. The place was clean, and if somebody saw something like a dirty cup or something, they don't wait for the cleaning crew to come in, instead they deal with it right away. All the staff members were very personable and great in their actions. Everything was neat and even the outside staff members would smile and say hello, greeting visitors, and waiting as they drove away with a smile.

Independence House has been a blessing to our family. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia in 2017, and it was a stressful and emotional time to realize he needed full-time care. During the most vulnerable time of his life, I quickly gained piece of mind having Dad in a safe environment where he has great facilities, food, activities and most importantly caring staff that truly understand his condition and needs. Each resident requires a little different approach to make them comfortable and happy, and the staff is very responsive to accommodate individual needs. Dad is well adjusted and has made new friends. I have grown to know many staff and residents by name. I am greeted with smiles and we feel part of the Independence House family!

I liked Independence House at Northview because of the location and the fact that it had a memory center. The staff was great, and the facility director called me back and had a nice long conversation about the place. It was very clean and very nice. The location was great and close to where we have a home and to my sister who also lives in that area. Pricing was very good and within our budget. I wish the individual rooms were a little bit larger, but they were very adequate and I understand the reason why they are smaller.

I found the staff in Independence House at Northview to be very caring and welcoming to my 90-year-old mother. They have been very responsive to her needs. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They're just expensive, but it's the same no matter where you are anyway.

I chose Independence House because it wasn’t overly crowded, and I liked the entrance to it. I really like the nice size of the rooms, and it didn’t have the hospital setting which a lot of these places have. I like the way it was set up; I like the whole layout of the place. I like their back door too and the fact that my brother could go outside if he wanted to but is still in a secured environment. I like the activities that they offer, and I am hoping that he is participating.

When it came time to place my mother in an assisted living facility for Alzheimer's we looked at several different places before deciding on The Independence House @ Northview. Multiple factors came into decision 1)We had to feel Mom would be comfortable moving out of her house of 45 years. On her first visit she asked if she could stay the day, she always loved the activities. 2)We had to be able to take her on Sundays to church. The staff made sure she had a bath on Saturday night and was dressed, feed and ready to go. 3)Care - Mom spent her last 3 years living at Northview. We always had a peace of mind that she was safe, well fed and cared for.

My aunt has been at Independence House at Northview since mid August. We liked the people that work there and the activities that they provided. It was a nice size. The staff was very friendly, cheerful, and helpful. The food looked fresh and smelled good. It was just a better feel.
