"We toured The Brant at Gretna. It's beautiful. They offer everything. They have a wonderful place and the price was right. Everything about it was right. We just chose the other one. The staff, I thought, was great. We didn't spend a lot of time. We didn't have a meal. They were kind. They were very well educated about the building and that sort of thing. The rooms were beautiful and had a large kitchen area, a laundry, and a nice big bar, so you didn't have to bring a table and everything. I thought the bedroom and the living room were a little small for what we desired."

"I went to visit the House of Hope Alzheimer's Care. I was very impressed with the facility and the couple of people that I talked to there. It looks like an ideal spot, but my problem with it was that it's quite a ways from where I work. Their rooms were very adequate and very nice. Everything seemed very well cared for and perfectly maintained."

"I toured Symphony Pointe. They were clean. They were good, and my loved one would be perfectly happy there. The marketing person was good. She was very efficient and friendly, and she knew a lot of the residents."

"Marquis Place of Elkhorn was my top choice for Mom. I liked it because the staff and director have been there for a long time, so there isn't any turnover. It is a very modern and brand-new facility at only about 10 years old in a very good location. They showed me some of the rooms, and they looked fine. I liked the memory care unit. Even though they were under tighter surveillance, the people there still had some room to move around and not feel totally shut in, and I liked that. "

"I toured Risen Son Christian Village. It's a nice place. It's quiet. The rooms are good size. They're not too big. It has a full kitchen. It's perfect for my dad because he's getting up there and he is still 100% functional. He can take care of himself. If his needs change, then they have options there as well. So that's one of the reasons why we chose it. The staff was very informative and had a good grasp of what they offer. The facility seemed to be managed well. There's a stove, a microwave, and a refrigerator, that kind of stuff, and a washer and dryer available. So basically, all he needs to move is his personal belongings."

"I went here, and I liked it. We are going to try to place dad there. I've known three people who have lived there. At that time and that's been three or four years ago, they were very clean and tidy. It's just a very welcoming atmosphere. When I went to tour this time, it was even cleaner and tidier. The staff and all of those that we came in contact with were smiling. They were interacting with the folks that were there. Everybody looked happy. It was just a very comforting feeling and welcoming place. It was bright. I like the setting. Amber was extremely friendly, very comfortable to talk to, and very knowledgeable. She just made you feel welcome and at home. The rooms were great. I already knew three people who had lived out there, so I knew what the rooms were like. One of the things I liked is the fact that they are now putting paint that is specialized for folks with macular degeneration, and the color is beautiful and very soothing. I like the rooms. I know how they can be arranged. The space is nice. They're very clean. I'm very happy with my choice. The dining area is very open and very nice. I could not taste a meal during that time, but the staff gave me a menu to share with my dad. I liked the fact that they have alternatives because he can be kind of a picky eater. When we got ready to leave, folks were starting to gather for their dinner. That's really where I wanted my dad to be and I'm pleased it's turning out that way. We didn't talk a lot about the activity, but I know the activity director, so I know what she can do. They were playing bingo the day I was there. Everybody was pleased. They were all dressed up for the day and the game. I know that they do quite a few activities and I asked her about day trips and she said right now they don't do much of that, but occasionally they will all go for a ride for those that want to go. They do lots of things and they keep their people as active as they want to be. I feel that they are extremely welcoming and comfortable there."

"My grandma has already been placed here, and it has been a good experience. The staff is all very friendly, there are a lot of activities for the residents so they are always active on something, and it is a good place to live. They have studios, studio suites, and then they have a 1-bedroom. They do have some that have bedrooms, and I am not sure how many different ones have bedrooms because we just looked at 3 different ones, but they have microwaves and small refrigerators in them, they have large bathrooms, some have walk-in closets and some don't, and they are very spacious. They have an activity room, they have books that you can take and read, they have outings that they go on, they have trips to the doctors, and you can take trips to the grocery stores once a week."

"Oxbow Living Center is very nice. My room is huge and it's very clean. Everyone is very kind here. Anytime you push your button for anything, they are there very quickly, so I have a really good impression so far. They have a library, hair salon, and they bring in people for PT. There are lots of things to do here. The food is quite good. They have a huge yard, a big lake with a path around it, which you can walk on, and every so often there's a nice bench when you can sit down and rest if you need to, and they have a walking club so you don't have to walk by yourself. They have gardens and areas for flowers. It's very lovely. There's a lady who comes and paints nails every Monday, which is very nice."

"Our family has been very pleased and grateful for the exceptional care that our mother is receiving. Granville is cozy, the staff is amazing and responsive to our concerns. "

"It seemed very adequate and very clean. I looked at their one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. They were very roomy, and the layouts were great. They had a craft and activity room, a beauty and barber facility, lots of common space, a movie theater, and an exercise room. The staff seemed very friendly and knowledgeable. They had the same things that almost everybody had, like they had travel provided for scheduled events and medical transportation."

"My dad is now here. It is going well. The building is one level. The staff members are helpful. The room is very good size. My dad has a small refrigerator. They have nurses on duty all the time, and doctors come in on Thursday. They provide three meals plus in-between meals on a menu. He seems to like the food."

"I toured Trinity Village with my dad when we were looking. Everything was very good. It was very organized and clean. It looks like it had everything they need for all stages. The worst thing about it is simply the size of the rooms were quite small for my dad and mom. They weren't ready for that yet. It looked like it had more than enough amenities for that stage of people in their lives. They had a gym, a salon, and a library."

"I toured Fountain View Senior Living. The memory care area was like a little community, and each room opened into the central fellowship area. It was small but bright. They were doing a variety of activities when I was there. They had puzzles, they were painting fingernails and that kind of thing. I did not see their food, although the residents were having tea and coffee at the time. The staff who helped me was very knowledgeable and personable. Their room was good-sized and in good condition."

"My brother is in Southview Heights. It's very nice, very clean and very well organized. The family that owns it is wonderful. My brother likes the food. I know they have different things to entertain them. They even have physical therapy where they all can come in one room and do whatever it is that they're working on, their legs or their arms or whatever."
