My mom was a resident of Homestead for nearly four years before recently passing. I am so thankful a friend of ours recommended this assisted living for her. There were only 40 residents living there at the time we moved her in. It didn't have a clinical feel at all, but felt like a home away from home. The atmosphere was warm and intimate. The staff were very caring, compassionate and welcoming. We felt very at ease regarding her well-being, safety and care. The activities provided for the residents were interactive, fun, and socially rewarding. They enjoyed bingo, music performances, dancing, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, singing, a M-F exercise program, and WII Bowling, which they loved! Every holiday was acknowledged and suitably celebrated. Residents were encouraged to attend the festivities and none were left out. They were invited to decorate their front doors, for all to admire! The staff do a difficult job daily with heart, dedication and genuine concern for the health and welfare of the residents. Mom made many good friends while living at Homestead and the staff became like family to her and to us. We will miss seeing them and are eternally grateful for how they loved and cared for mom.

Homestead of La Vista is just a one-level facility. There are no stairs, no elevators, and no escalators. It's about four blocks from where I live, so I could go see my mom any time. My mom's religious, and they said they really have good Catholic services on Sunday. So that's three things I really liked about the facility. I only met one person. She was very friendly and answered all of my questions. They also have a hairstylist place. They have activities for the senior citizens. They have a shuttle service to doctors' appointments, so they get free transportation. They don't have a problem with me bringing up food. They have activities like bingo and puzzles. They have people come in and entertain.

My father moved into Granville Villa. It's very nice and he's very happy there. They offer three meals a day, the phone and cable is free, and there's nothing much extra once you get in there. The staff is very good. We've have no problems at all with the staff. My father said the food is very good.

Granville Villa was a very family-oriented place. The rooms surround a center interior area where the dining area and other facilities are all easily accessible and are very close by. It's limited to 40 apartments, so the number of people were very small, and you can sense that people know each other more easily there and the staff knows the people quite intimately. The activity director led our tour, so we got a good exposure as to what's available. She plans a theme per week and this particular week is Alzheimer's focused theme. They are going to have a walkathon to raise money for the Alzheimer's organization. The seniors in the assisted living are going to do a walk around inside their building or outside.

Granville Villa is the best I place I saw for my mother-in-law. It seemed more personable, smaller, and there's even a Catholic service for her. It seemed like it would have been a better fit for her to keep her active. Most of the people there are still active. They have movies, and if she needed to go to the doctor they would get her there and back. She can get her hair and nails done there. My sister-in-law had an issue with the front door. It was so open, so people with memory issues can easily wander out the door, or somebody could come in that you dont want to come in, but other than that it was very nice. The lady that showed us around was very nice. A lot of the residents we talked to seemed to be happy there.

My dad chose this place after visiting others in the area. He likes the small family atmosphere. He has been at Granville for nearly 6 years now. It is very convenient to find and get to for our family. WE appreciate all that the staff does for my dad.

My brother and I shopped around a lot of facilities to find the best fit for our mother who is legally blind and suffering from Alzheimer's. We have been very satisfied with the care that she has received for the last 2 1/2 years. We especially like the size and floor plan of the whole facility. All on one floor with spacious rooms around the perimeter. Serving a limited number of residents [under 50] means that she has much better care.

Granville Villa was nice, but we just felt that the whole community was too open for my mom. The staff was very nice. You could see the dining area and everything all at one time, but it was clean.

Granville is very nice. I like the way it's set up, and it's not far from Bellevue where my friends and family are. It's very clean, even though there were a lot of people. They're very kind, easy to talk to and be with, and it felt warm. They have a whole schedule of activities every day. They go on rides and if there are various functions in town, they bring the people there. The staff who showed me around was very nice and warm, and answered my questions. The area was a little more crowded than I liked.

Granville was wonderful, and I really wish she would have gone there. It’s only with location that she did not go there. The staff was able to address all our concerns. The rooms were smaller; other than that, everything about that was really nice. They have beautiful birds. It’s just a nice setup.

We moved my mom into Granville Villa. I like the size of it because it's not too large, and it's all on one floor. The layout of the place is good because all of the rooms are around the central courtyard area, allowing quick access to anybody that lives there. The staff is really good and conscientious. The place is very clean and smells nice. They have regular, scheduled activities every day, like crafts or they have someone come in to do bible studies with them or other entertainment.
