"We have chosen Walnut Grove. My mom isn't in there yet. I liked it very much. I thought that the people were very friendly and the service that they gave to their clients was really good. When I talked to some of the clients that live there, they spoke very highly of it, which made it friendly for me to try to put my mom there because she's been in her home for 65 years, so I wanted a place that I knew would reach out. Another thing I liked was the mentoring. They said they're going to attach a mentor with my mom that will take her down to breakfast, lunch, and dinner and things like that, so they kind of introduced her to the people that are living there. I thought that was nice. The people were very friendly. The staff was very efficient in answering questions. I also thought that the price was very reasonable compared to other institutions that I visited. The rooms are very nice. They're private rooms. I did not try the food, but I was excited that they offer three meals a day whereas many places did not do that. The dining area was very nice. They have lots of activities, and that was another reason I liked it. There's a theater and they bring in entertainment. Those were areas that I was impressed with. It's kind of new, and it looks good. They provide housekeeping once a week for the residents, so that's good as well. I met one of the housekeepers on my mom's floor, and she was very, very outgoing and friendly. They showed us the workout room and hairdressing. We were very excited that she has a place to get her hair done."

"I like the people at Bloomfield. I talked to this pianist, and she was with it all. She played by ear, and she knew every type of music. I really loved Bloomfield. I think they had one director and one assistant director, and I think there's super people. They knew their business, and they knew what they were talking about. They were courteous and friendly. They don't have a pool, but they have an underground park, which is a big plus. I wish to sample their food. Breakfast is continental, like you can have eggs or toast or cold cereal. Lunch and dinner is $14 a plate, and that's OK. You pay extra for that. They socialize very, very well, and they are very nice, very nice people."

"I toured The Brant at Gretna. It was beautiful. I would have gone there had it been closer. It's not that far. It's just off the beaten path, the way my kids go. I did have food there, and the food was very good. It has a meal plan similar to the other facility, where you're allowed so much towards meals every month with your rent. And then, if you have more, you pay for some. You can get two meals a day. They had a washer and dryer and a smaller kitchen, not as big, which was fine with me because that's part of my problem. I'm tired of cooking, but the apartments were about the same. The person who took me around was good. She called back about a week later and wanted to know if I wanted to come and see it again. She was very good at her job."

"Rolling Hills Ranch was a wonderful beautiful place, but my husband needed a little bit more care than they could give. We were going to take a studio and it was nice. The staff was very nice and the food was good. It's just that he needed more of a medical care place and they didn't have someone there 24/7. The amenities were fine. They had a movie theater and everything else. It was excellent."

"What I like most about Maple Ridge is the privacy and the ability to come and go as if I were living at home. I didn't delve into a whole lot of amenities, but they are well-equipped. They have a gym, a library, and several other facilities. Some are extra pay, like the styling salon. They also offer a separate party room or area if you want to invite people in or have a large group, which was appealing. The staff member who gave the tour was very personable and met people well. He gave me a very thorough tour, was able to answer all my questions, and has followed up with me since that time."

"I visited Risen Son Christian Village. I went and talked to the guy and looked at the apartment for my sister. You walked down the hall and the staff was just very nice and acknowledging. The rooms were small, and that's one of the reasons why she didn't pick it. Everything looked nice. It was clean. The dining area was nice and clean."

"We are going to choose Trinity Village for my dad. One of the things we like about it is the location, which is important because it's close to where my brother and I live, and where my father used to live. Also, the people were very, very kind and caring, and they work with us. The staff who gave the tour was very sweet, and very knowledgeable, answered any questions we had in regards to what they had, and talked to us quite a bit. I'm looking forward to talking to her when he moves there. We saw two different rooms, they were nice and clean, and they had everything he needed. The bathroom is nice and big, which is nice because he's walking with a walker so it makes it easy for him to get in and out. The one thing we were working on was making sure he liked the view because he likes to watch birds. There's a nice bay window in both rooms that they offer, and there's a window in the bedroom so there are lots of light, which I like. The dining area is very clean and spacious. They've got two different dining areas, both of them were nice, and they let them go back and forth. One of the things I like about the place is that he can go from independent to assisted or assisted to independent, so he does not have to move. But both dining rooms were nice and clean and they gave a wide variety of different things that he can order. They have a gym, they have a library, and they have different places for them to sit and visit. When I went there the second time to sign papers, they were setting up to have a small concert. They also offered to take them to different places outside, they have a walking trail around the complex not too far away, depending on how my father gets around. they also have more or less a fitness center that the city of Papillion maintains that he's allowed to go to. I also like the nurse that came and evaluated my father, they're very attentive and keep up on everything we need."

"I've visited The Wellington. The staff is wonderful, it's a nice community where people want to stay and make a home. They had a workout facility, they had a large eating space that could be moved to other things, and they had several small gathering places for games and interaction with other residents. Their staff members were super nice. They've been long-term workers who have been there for a while."

"I toured Cedarhurst of La Vista. My impression of them was very good. The interaction, the care that the director seemed to have for the clientele, and her care, the attention, I connected with her. She was easy to talk to, and I just got a sense that if I had chosen that facility, my father would have been in good hands. I just love the windows. When I walked in, it was very open, I just loved the lighting from the outside. It was very warm and welcoming."

"I toured Connect55+ La Vista. They were very friendly. It had a nice floor plan. I like the whole community, and the way it's laid out. It's easy to get in and out of, which is important to me because it's just right off of Q Street. I like the whole layout. They walked me around to show me the clubhouse, and I liked that. The people were so very friendly, and Jessie was so very friendly. I just liked it all. I thought it was great. They have a book club, lots of activities, and that was important to me, too."

"I've been here at Ralston House for over a year now. Now that they changed management, it's awesome. The people are friendly and people get together and play cards and visit. It's a nice area. They've got a beautiful courtyard. I have a nice one-bedroom apartment. I'm on the first floor, so I don't have to go upstairs or anything. It's very affordable for me. Everybody gets their own food. The residents get together and visit. It's just apartment housing for the elderly 55 and up. It's very clean and everybody cleans their own apartment. I have family members that come in and clean my apartment for me once a week. They get my trash out and everything. It's a nice facility."

"We're on the wait list at Fountain View Senior Living. I was very impressed with how personable they were and they spent a lot of time with us. My daughter went with me. They have 15 units, and they're more like studios. They have a courtyard and a common area where they have a few activities. The staff was very nice. Everybody seemed very friendly and personable. It had kind of a family atmosphere. It was very beautiful, very up-to-date, modern, clean, bright, and friendly."

"This place was a blessing to me! I was fortunate to move there being younger to help my mom and take care of my disability. They accommodate me well and others. Gained many friends. Staff helpful, resourceful. Great driver and big perk for appointments etc. Good size place and pricing. Fun people. Learned lots from many diverse people from all over military to stay home mom's etc. Awesome activities and potlucks.. feel good mom is there while I had to move on and be with kids and out of state. Helped her transition into new beutiful one bedroom. She has many friends. Friendly place. Help each other out. In good and bad times. Geunily care for neighbor I felt. One plus for me I lost 70 pound's from just there little space of some exercise equipment, esp when weather bad, and needed something indoors. Wonder memories of coffee with many fine folks in morning I miss. Blessed to be able to still even though I'm not longer a resident. I'm welcomed and they message me and call me son and always a home away from home. Look forward to Future going see Mom and see new stuff they've done. Love you all. Please consider it. Lots to do and make life easier for an affordable housing. "

"Richmont Village is very nice, but theyre a lot more expensive. You have to sign in and out, or be buzzed in and out, and we liked that. They have an excellent menu, but it seemed to be a little bit bigger than what we were looking for. You can bring a pet in and we appreciated that. The rooms were pretty nice, theyre closed in with a garden area, and they have an elevator. They will take people to outings once a week, to the casino, or to the stores, and that's very nice."

"Heritage Ridge is fairly new and in a great location. It's clean and the staff is great. They've done follow up with us and even received thank you cards from them. They're very pleasant to work with. Their price is in our price range. They have a calendar of activities. They have something going all day long from morning till night, like crafts, cooking classes, puzzle making, exercises every day, field trips and other recreation. So it's pretty well-balanced. "

"Harmony Court is an independent living facility with no nursing care, but if you want you can hire privately. It's a wonderful place for your parents when they no longer should be taking care of their homes. Luckily my dad went there seven years ago, so he enjoyed it, and as he needed help we were able to hire a nurse's aide for a couple of hours. But when it got to the point when he needed 24-hour care, it no longer made sense monetarily, so we put him in a nursing home. The staff was wonderful. They had daily activities, exercise classes in the morning, they have a cafeteria that they walk to, and there's a lot of socialization there as they eat in the dining room. They go on outings, play bingo, people play cards every single day, there's puzzles, crafts, they have football parties, and wine and cheese parties. The rooms were all individual apartments, they have little kitchenettes, one- or two-bedrooms, and also a studio, and they're very lovely. They have housekeeping that comes in once every two weeks and just vacuums and dusts. They also have underground parking and two meals a day, but there's always so much food, and they handle dinner themselves in their apartment."

"Aksarben Village was really beautiful. The facility itself was classy, updated, and lovely. The staff was really lovely, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and well-organized. The layout was lovely, and I was impressed with that facility. They had a nice dining room, workout room, courtyard, large and spacious communal areas for socializing. They also have a salon, and a little gift shop where residents could purchase cards and small gifts for family members. I thought the amenities there looked wonderful. It was spectacular."

"I live in a small one-bedroom apartment in Arboretum. I selected it based on the recommendations of my friends. It is nice place and not the most expensive. The food is very good, but I do not always eat there because I have a built-in kitchenette, which is in every apartment. The staff is very helpful and nice. "

We chose Trinity Village. They were very helpful and caring. It's a smaller community. That's pretty much why we chose it.
