"I toured and out of the communities I toured, that was by far my favorite. Immediately when I walked into the facility, it was bright, open, and kind of put me at ease right off the bat. If the time comes that my mom is going to go into assisted living, that would be the place that I would select. Their apartments were a decent size and I like the fact that it was a separate room. So, you had your living room, your little kitchen area, and then a bedroom separate. They have 2-bedroom options. I liked those because they were at the end of a hall, and they overlooked a common area with a little green belt. So, it had nice views. The staff was very nice and helpful, and she made me feel comfortable. The dining area was very cute and also had great natural light. It was my draw to the place, with good windows, and natural light. They were playing bingo when I arrived, which they take very seriously. I was also made aware of the salon that they had."

"Crown Pointe is very bright, cheery, and open. The staff are very friendly and good at what they do. My mom's room is beautiful. They have several activities every day and they help her choose which activities she would like and help her go to them to see if she likes them. The food and dining area are amazing. She loves it. They're actually finishing up their outdoor eating area. It's not completed yet, but they also have gardens and places to walk outside."

"Bickford was wonderful. It was very comfortable -- a very quiet area with beautiful views -- and it was very nice. However, we had to find our own transportation if we have to go to dialysis. The staff was very nice. I really liked her; she was very professional and very comfortable to talk to. "

"I went to visit the House of Hope Alzheimer's Care. I was very impressed with the facility and the couple of people that I talked to there. It looks like an ideal spot, but my problem with it was that it's quite a ways from where I work. Their rooms were very adequate and very nice. Everything seemed very well cared for and perfectly maintained."

"Oxbow Living Center is very nice. My room is huge and it's very clean. Everyone is very kind here. Anytime you push your button for anything, they are there very quickly, so I have a really good impression so far. They have a library, hair salon, and they bring in people for PT. There are lots of things to do here. The food is quite good. They have a huge yard, a big lake with a path around it, which you can walk on, and every so often there's a nice bench when you can sit down and rest if you need to, and they have a walking club so you don't have to walk by yourself. They have gardens and areas for flowers. It's very lovely. There's a lady who comes and paints nails every Monday, which is very nice."

"Pathfinder Senior Living looked clean. Everyone we saw was friendly. It seemed like it would be an option for my mother. However, it is out of her budget. The gentleman who toured with us was very nice, very helpful, and very understanding. The dining area was nice and clean. One thing that I thought was rather unique was that the nooks were quite large. One might be a reading area, another might be a puzzle area, just different things that would be available when the cafeteria was being used for some other event."

"My mother wants to go to Carter Place. It's a small community. She liked it. There's nothing least I liked at all. I just like it. I had my mother on the phone so she could talk to the guy because she's in Wisconsin and she was just happy. The staff was very nice. The rooms were efficient and nice. It's like one big happy family. The dining area was nice. They have a hot tub there. They have a beauty salon. They have a room where they do activities. It's very clean."

"I went here, and I liked it. We are going to try to place dad there. I've known three people who have lived there. At that time and that's been three or four years ago, they were very clean and tidy. It's just a very welcoming atmosphere. When I went to tour this time, it was even cleaner and tidier. The staff and all of those that we came in contact with were smiling. They were interacting with the folks that were there. Everybody looked happy. It was just a very comforting feeling and welcoming place. It was bright. I like the setting. Amber was extremely friendly, very comfortable to talk to, and very knowledgeable. She just made you feel welcome and at home. The rooms were great. I already knew three people who had lived out there, so I knew what the rooms were like. One of the things I liked is the fact that they are now putting paint that is specialized for folks with macular degeneration, and the color is beautiful and very soothing. I like the rooms. I know how they can be arranged. The space is nice. They're very clean. I'm very happy with my choice. The dining area is very open and very nice. I could not taste a meal during that time, but the staff gave me a menu to share with my dad. I liked the fact that they have alternatives because he can be kind of a picky eater. When we got ready to leave, folks were starting to gather for their dinner. That's really where I wanted my dad to be and I'm pleased it's turning out that way. We didn't talk a lot about the activity, but I know the activity director, so I know what she can do. They were playing bingo the day I was there. Everybody was pleased. They were all dressed up for the day and the game. I know that they do quite a few activities and I asked her about day trips and she said right now they don't do much of that, but occasionally they will all go for a ride for those that want to go. They do lots of things and they keep their people as active as they want to be. I feel that they are extremely welcoming and comfortable there."

"My grandma has already been placed here, and it has been a good experience. The staff is all very friendly, there are a lot of activities for the residents so they are always active on something, and it is a good place to live. They have studios, studio suites, and then they have a 1-bedroom. They do have some that have bedrooms, and I am not sure how many different ones have bedrooms because we just looked at 3 different ones, but they have microwaves and small refrigerators in them, they have large bathrooms, some have walk-in closets and some don't, and they are very spacious. They have an activity room, they have books that you can take and read, they have outings that they go on, they have trips to the doctors, and you can take trips to the grocery stores once a week."

" My mother transitioned from another nursing home facility to Life Care Center of Elkhorn in December 2016 and it was the best decision I could have ever made for my mom, actually she was the one that requested to go to this facility because she had heard so many wonderful things about it and she was right. Unfortunately her experience at the previous nursing home was not a good one. Carol in admissions was so helpful when we first arrived, she explained everything to us about the facility etc. They even had the perfect room-mate for my mom, they get along great and they enjoy one another's company even to the point of eating together and our two families get along well. The other things that we love about this facility is the personalized care not just from the Administrative Staff but also the Nursing Staff, Housekeeping, and Physical Therapy which has really worked so patiently and dilligently with my mom to the point of helping her to build up her strength back up to be able to start walking again after having the stroke and she enjoys all the therapists but really enjoys getting her Awards after walking so many feet. The food options are excellent and if we want to go eat with mom they even have a private dining room available. Everyone really seems to care about my mom and it shows through the care they provide and also because my mom feels the same about all of them, (you see my mom has a pretty good mind and she will definitely let you know if something is wrong) she loves being there.. The last and other most important thing that I would say I love about this facility is the cleanliness, not once in the 3 months that my mom has been there have I nor any of our other family members or friends noticed any terrible odors or uncleanliness as a matter of fact it is always in tip top shape.. I would recommend the Life Care Center of Elkhorn to any family member that is looking for a loving and caring facillty for their loved one, it gets 5 stars from me and my family. "

"I was going to go to Esprit, but it was too expensive, and I just couldn't afford it. I had some friends there, and it was a new facility, so I liked that. But, because of the cost and the limited space, it came down to going to a different place. The staff there was great, and it was clean. I saw the room, which was very clean and new. "

"This facility is amazing. We moved my mother here after issues with 2 other facilities and she said that day this facility is better than the last two. She was correct. This facility takes the time to get to know and love the residents. The residents interact and become friends with each other which I have never seen from other facilities. When my mother passed away, the staff cried with us. This facility understands the disease and know how to properly care for the residents. The staff also understands the stress this disease puts on loved ones and are very respectful of family to minimize levels of stress. I highly recommend this facility, they have everything your loved one needs."
