"I went to visit the House of Hope Alzheimer's Care. I was very impressed with the facility and the couple of people that I talked to there. It looks like an ideal spot, but my problem with it was that it's quite a ways from where I work. Their rooms were very adequate and very nice. Everything seemed very well cared for and perfectly maintained."

"I toured Symphony Pointe. They were clean. They were good, and my loved one would be perfectly happy there. The marketing person was good. She was very efficient and friendly, and she knew a lot of the residents."

"We toured The Brant at Gretna. It's beautiful. They offer everything. They have a wonderful place and the price was right. Everything about it was right. We just chose the other one. The staff, I thought, was great. We didn't spend a lot of time. We didn't have a meal. They were kind. They were very well educated about the building and that sort of thing. The rooms were beautiful and had a large kitchen area, a laundry, and a nice big bar, so you didn't have to bring a table and everything. I thought the bedroom and the living room were a little small for what we desired."

"The staff at Marquis Place are of such high quality that I have no concerns with the care that my mother-in-law receives. Prior to this, my mother also lived here and received excellent care until she passed. The staff not only cares for their residents but also for the family members that visit. I couldn’t be happier."

"I visited Oxbow and it was very nice. It's a new facility, the memory care just opened last June. It's organized, very clean, and it has no smell."

"My friend has been at New Cassel for two and a half months now. It is owned by Sisters of St. Francis and it is a non-profit place, so the facilities are absolutely beautiful. There is a chapel that looks like a cathedral. It is terrific. My friend gets three meals a day, plus cable TV, plus cleaning service and laundry service. There is a clinic right in the building. She had fallen a couple of times, and they took her down to the clinic and tested her out. They have a library, a store, a computer room, a crafts room, and a sewing room. They also have a pub with a pool table. Virtually, they have everything there except a swimming pool. And they have bus trips all over. They just went to Nebraska City a few days ago. They would go to Walmart and Target. It is very, very active. The people there are very alive. My friend loves it there. Everybody you talk to loves it there. The food is so good. She has three meals a day, and the food is so good that I would go with her and eat a couple of times a week. "

"The nurses are Angels themselves, after watching over and keeping an eye on my dad for almost 2 years. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. "

"Remington Heights Retirement is a very friendly community. The food is good. The activities are wonderful. Families are included in a lot of activities. My mother-in-law lives there. She was in independent living for several years, and then she just moved to assisted living maybe six months ago. To avoid the spread of the virus, they do some precautions like if there are three or more that tested positive, either the residents or the staff, they have the meals brought to the rooms and they stop the activities to stop the spread."

"Aksarben Village seemed brighter and cheerier than other places. I liked the floor plans and the two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments, but unfortunately, their meal plan was breakfast and then you pick lunch or dinner and that doesn't work for my in-laws because they sleep late. They had a very nice theater room with theater seating with a giant screen. They also had a Catholic service there on Saturdays and other activities that were explained to us. They had a shuttle that will take you to different shopping facilities that are close by. The food service was good. We were impressed with the facility."

"My dad stayed at Hickory Villa while my mom went to Boston. His dementia worsened during the course of his stay and the staff did everything they possibly could to accommodate him even though they were not set up to handle severe memory problems. Food was very good and meds were administered on time. Would highly recommend Hickory Villa. "

"We toured the facility and thought it was clean, the staff was nice and the price was right. What really sold us was the number of men residing there (much more than most assisted living homes.) We hoped my father would adjust but had no idea he would adjust so fast. I believe it was due to a few of the staff taking a special interest in my father (who could be difficult at times) and the leadership of the facility being very involved in the day to day operations. The staff went out of their way to keep me in touch with my father (I live out of town) and to inform my family when something didn't look quite right with him. I would highly recommend this faciity for your parent or loved one. "

"Heritage at Sterling Ridge was fine, but the apartments were smaller, and the ceilings were lower. They have a very impressive entrance, and they have a lot of things going for them. They have all kinds of things, i.e., an activity room, a salon, a library, and a movie room. They have transportation, they have activities, and they have people who come in, and sing and dance, which is great. Heritage at Sterling Ridge is fine for what it was. I didn't have any problems with it, but it was not appealing. I have a friend who was perfectly happy there. The staff was good and friendly. The building is a five, but the individual apartments were small."
