We're on the waiting list for The Knolls Retirement Community. We chose it because it was more of a hotel senior living community versus a nursing home feel. The rooms were open and spacious. They had lots of amenities. They have a movie theater, hairdresser, lots of bingo, several restaurants, and lots of places for family to go. They have a walking trail outside of their building that's about a mile long with some benches along the way, and we really liked that. The staff during the tour was very friendly, helpful, and very pleasant. I was pleased with everything.

There are some staff that care but overall the staff are overworked and in my opinion under appreciated by the management. The rooms are nice but the facility fails in maintaining a clean environment. My grandpa had fallen and gotten blood on his sheets and they let him sleep in those same sheets for over a week. They leave the meals sitting on a tray for hours in the room to gather bacteria. My grandpa died from covid 3 1/2 weeks after they chose to host an eater egg hunt indoors with at least 100 people without masks. There were many vulnerable residents that came down with covid following this event. They have no regard for the people they are responsible for. Preceding the covid, there was general neglect and lack of care. The manager and head nurse are the most ineffective and do not care about your family members, which is obvious since they can’t be bothered to reach out when someone under their care passes away.

The tour at The Knolls Senior Living was good. The staff was friendly, the place was very nice, and it was very new, they were just getting it up and running. It had a more modern aesthetic, not quite as homey but it was cool. But my parents didn't take to it as much as the other place we toured, because it was so modern. The staff who showed us around was good, informative, and friendly. They showed us the apartment, they showed us the dining area that's like their party room. The only thing I could say is the price. I get that it's an expensive deal, but it is hard for our seniors to afford.

My dad has moved into The Knolls. It's good. They provide activities and meals. They also offer help if he needs it. Since everything is shut down because of COVID there's not really a lot of activities anywhere. Normally, they have activities. They have outings, they have get-togethers, and they have exercise. They have all kinds of things. My dad says the food is good. His room is excellent. It's large and spacious. Outdoor spaces are lovely.

The Knolls would have been my preference for my mom. They had the nicest rooms. It's a brand new place. The staff seemed to be very attentive while I was there. I was introduced not just to the marketing people but to the nursing staff as well. I liked the rooms and I liked the room size. The dining room was absolutely beautiful. They offer private dining rooms so that you can have family gatherings there. They had a nice gymnasium, too. Their staff members seemed very nice. I met several of them from different levels. I felt most at home there, but my mom didn't. She was overwhelmed by the size of the place because it's very large. They had card clubs, movies, and lots of speakers and singing groups who come in during the week. I was impressed with the overall organization. It would be a beautiful place to live. It is located in a place that was a former golf course so there's lots of green space.

I just moved Mom into The Knolls. The people are very friendly. It's a very modern, bright, and cheerful place. The dining room is filled with people talking to each other. The cook and the chef come out and talk to the residents to see if they like their food. There's always someone at the front desk. They have activities for the people to do, and it's a very pleasant setting. The people are very pleasant and the staff is great. My mother was there for five days and then she got sick and just came back after being gone for about six weeks or so. They were standing at the door welcoming her back home. They're very happy. It's a little bit on the expensive side.
