"We went and toured Westmont of Cypress. It was brand new. It was basically like having your own little mini apartment. They had washers and dryers in the unit and full little mini kitchens in the units with stoves and microwaves. If you're looking for like an apartment kind of style with care provided, it is a great place. It was a tad more expensive for my father-in-law, and it was much too large for him. They have a movie theater, a swimming pool, and a gym. It was brand new and topnotch. Their memory care facility was amazing as well. The person who took me around was very well educated. He explained everything to us and tried to show us as much as we could see."

"We visited Walnut Village. We’re moving in there in two weeks. It suited us well in all respects. We are moving into a 1,400-square-foot apartment, and it is a perfect size and the way it’s arranged is going to work well for us. They have an indoor swimming pool and fitness center, which we will try, and an art room that I have my eyes on. There are a lot of activities that are ongoing that I think we will enjoy. The dining room and coffee shop are nice. I have a full kitchen in my apartment. The staff members are very helpful, very warm, and friendly and welcomed us. It's just very comfortable. "

"My mom is a resident of Park Plaza. I like its cleanliness, their staff and amenities, and the food and the choices they have. I like pretty much everything about it. They're all good. We did look at several other places before we chose this one. I like the staff. They're probably the best thing about this facility. They're very friendly and very accommodating. Regarding activities, they have tons of stuff going on. They have movie nights, exercise classes, brain classes, and Bible studies. They would have music and dance that come in, they have activities where they take them out to grocery stores, and they go out for Sunday drive. They do endless activities. I would absolutely recommend this facility to others. My mom is very happy and very well adjusted there. "

"I visited Emerald Court. Their staff was very friendly, and she took me on a tour. The reason why I visited them first is because this is closer to the house where I used to live. Also, about 20 years ago, my in-law was there for spending two months in the wintertime, so, I knew of them. When I went there, everything was clean and so nice. Pricewise it is very reasonable and not that high if I compare it with other places. The room I was interested in was a one-bedroom. They have three meals provided, and the kitchen is small, but I understand why it is small. Also, I saw their calendar and they have something every day. It's very attractive there too. My English is limited and the staff who talked to me the first time understood me and was very patient with me. She explained everything slowly and patiently. I was so impressed with her business attitude. Also, I told my friends who are my age about them, and then they wanted to see the inside, so I went there a couple of times with my friends. Each time, they offer lunch and something to eat, so that's the best. We had a sandwich, it was good. I asked a resident at that time if they liked the food, they were Asians, and they said the food was Western type. Because of their food program, their food has less salt, and that's why not everybody is satisfied with it, but I understand. The facility is clean everywhere and everybody is so friendly, even the staff and the caregivers."

"It was very nice, and the staff was very nice. The dining area was very clean and homey. The rooms were very nice too. "

"My parents moved into Atria Golden Creek. The staff is very kind and the facility is spotlessly clean. It's just great management and excellent food. They have a really nice theater, church services, a nice library, physical therapy, a nice beauty salon, and a nice bistro. My parents like the little bistro where they can order more of a relaxed breakfast and lunch as opposed to their formal dining room."

"My mom moved into Woodbridge Terrace of Irvine. We chose it because of the location and the feel of the facility. It's open and airy. There were nice walking paths around the property because my mom likes to walk. The layout was well thought out. They made sure they had a larger bathroom instead of a smaller bathroom. They had a little kitchenette area. The apartments were very nice. Everything's well-lit. It's been good for us. It's a bit of an adjustment for my mom, but the people there are all very nice, open, and welcoming. The food is good. They have lots of choices for meals."

"This was one of the better assisted living facilities I've ever visited as a student volunteer. The institution is divided into two wards: those who need constant medical attention and supervision and those who can care for themselves. Every week, I visited the later ward to provide some recreational activities. Each of the residents gets their own room and bathroom, which they decorated with their personal touch. The overall atmosphere is a gentile and friendly one. A few of the residents gets upset or depressed because they haven't seen their family in a while. But some of the residents who have lived there longer try to cheer them up by inviting them to tea or some recreational game. The supervisors always make sure that the residents have something to do most of the time. They have an aviary with some of the most charming singing birds, and a rec room with musical instruments and books. I understand that to upkeep a facility like this one comes at a considerable costs, which is the main compliant I've heard from other families. But, their loved ones receive the care that they should be receiving from home."

"My mother was in here for about two months, and we were very pleased. It was a beautiful facility, and the staff was very caring. She had escort everywhere she went; all she had to do was push a button, and she had help. They had a lot of fine activities that she enjoyed, and the food was outstanding. I can't say anything bad about it. The food was outstanding every time I ate there, and my mother loved it. There was more than enough, and she had many choices. The dining room was beautifully laid out, and the building itself was nicely laid out. Her apartment was just across the hall from an elevator. My mom was 98 years and moved very slow with a walker, so it was very convenient. "

"I toured and I liked its cleanliness and their bigger rooms. When you enter their dining area, it's like a big restaurant. It was nice. The courtyard was very nice too. It's not that big, but it's pretty decent for the residents. It's a very welcoming place. The staff was also very nice. When we got there, the receptionist offered us some coffee or tea. We talked to Ryan and he was pretty knowledgeable on everything that's going on in the facility, and he's been offering a lot of help. He showed us a lot of rooms and my aunt was so overwhelmed by it. A lot of the rooms were still being renovated though. They're still in the process of changing the carpeting and all that, but I am pretty sure after everything is done, it's going to be beautiful."

"My mother was a resident here. They had great staff. It was a fantastic place, and she enjoyed everything about it. It was a great place for independent people that want to retire, get rid of their responsibilities, and just sit back and enjoy the meals. They had lots of activities and exercises. "

"I visited La Mirada Heights and really liked it. It was very clean, quiet, and very serene. The staff members were very nice and helpful. The dining area was very nice, and the food was pretty good."

"The Meridian at Anaheim Hills was very clean, very nice, and very updated. It looked like they had a lot of activities. When we were there, dogs were visiting. They also had outdoor activities with a bus if they wanted to go. The dining area looked good and the accommodations looked very nice. They had some nice outdoor areas that the residents could go out to and walk. We saw a shared room that had a TV and a dresser. It was ample and it had some nice closet space. The coordinator was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. She loved her job and she had been there a long time."

"My aunt and uncle moved to Bayshire Yorba Linda. They can accommodate a lot of things. The grounds are kept clean and the atmosphere is very inviting. It was very spacious. It didn't seem like everything was kind of crammed in. The people that we met there were very helpful and very kind. We haven't run into any problems as far as helping my aunt and uncle. The food is very good. My uncle is not as social as my aunt. Even within memory care, they have a lot of activities to stimulate their brain, and to keep them busy. We've been very happy with the available activities. The value of memory care is awesome. It's pretty reasonable."
