Describe the overall population of assisted living residents at Park Plaza. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?
The average age of our Park Plaza residents is 85 years old. Our residents are described as very friendly, warm, and active. Our residents enjoy the many activities we offer from our weekly socials, to exercise, gardening and brain exercises.
What programs or activities does Park Plaza offer to enrich residents' well-being?
We offer exercise classes weekly, weekly church services, a Monday Bible Study, Trivia, Spelling Bee, Crossword Puzzles, Pool Aerobics, Bingo, Big Word Game, A Knitting/Crocheting group, A walking club, A women’s club and a men’s club monthly, Lunch outings, shopping twice weekly, and entertainment.
What places are near Park Plaza or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?
Park Plaza is Just blocks from Historic Downtown Orange with antiques, shopping and dining. We are directly across the street from a Hart park and conveniently located off the 22 freeway.
What transportation services does Park Plaza offer to assisted living residents?
We have 2 company cars and a 9 passenger bus. We provide complimentary transportation within a 7 mile radius, weekly adventures and shopping excursions.
What makes the chef or dining program at Park Plaza exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted living residents expect?
Our Chef Tony Pulsifer has been with us for over 28 years. He offers a variety of options for our residents to choose from and is very accommodating to their needs. You will see a diverse menu which offers: Italian, Chinese, Mexican and American cuisine. He tries to meet our residents' individual needs and is always willing to listen to their suggestions to continuously improve our menu.
What safety features or security measures does Park Plaza offer to assisted living residents?
We offer pendants: a necklace and/or a wrist pendant. We also have pullcords in each resident's room.
How does Park Plaza keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
We keep an emergency information sheet for each resident. Families are to list primary and secondary contact so we know who to contact in the case of an emergency. Should a family require additional updates this service is also available. If a resident has a change in condition, the family is notified immediately. However, in the case of a serious emergency we will always call 911 first. Our ED sends out weekly updates via email as well.
If Park Plaza accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
Park Plaza welcomes dogs and cats. There is a small relief area located outside of the building.
What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?
Staff is trained monthly through our Kisco Learning Channel as well as in-person training required by the state.
Describe the overall population of independent living residents at Park Plaza. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?
Our independent residents keep themselves busy playing poker, attending our events and exploring Orange County. Ages vary from late sixites to one hundres.
What places are nearby for independent living residents to enjoy?
Hart Park, the Circle's many restaurants and shops, churches and Orange Senior Center.
What are some recent off-site events that the community activity director at Park Plaza has organized?
Trips to Pechanga, local museum's and performing arts. Walks in the Park and restaurants.

We have a living room, library, Alder Tech Lounge, Sycamore Hall, outdoor courtyard with a swimming pool, fitness center, family dining room, game area, hair salon and billiards available.
What safety features or security measures does Park Plaza offer to independent living residents?
We offer wander guards available should a residents memory decline and they become more confused. If they attempt to walk out of the building a loud alarm is activated by their wrist wander guard. Emergency buttons are in every apartment.
If Park Plaza accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?
Furry friends are more than welcome.
Does Park Plaza work with an agency or registry to provide nursing and medical assistance as needed?
We do not work with agencies but are staffed with care staff and a nurse.
What safety features or security measures does Park Plaza provide to protect residents who wander?
We offer wander guards available should a residents memory decline and they become more confused. If they attempt to walk out of the building a loud alarm is activated by their wrist wander guard.
