"I toured Beach Terrace Assisted Living & Memory Care. It was bright with lots of natural sunlight. The interior, the way it was decorated was beautiful. The common space was huge. It just feels so welcoming. I saw the menu and it looked like a menu at a restaurant. What was on the menu was pretty interesting, like salmon, asparagus, squash, and stuff like that. I saw a shared room. It was nice. I like the semi-private room, and the room on each side was huge. You can really put a six-seating dining room table and a full-size bed. The shared bathroom was in between and they had doors from each side of the room for the bathroom. They had a big picture window. The staff was so gracious. He was so informative. The tour was guided by the guy who worked there, but the guy that I already had was the one who took me. He was the one who was already familiar with the place, and between what I heard and what I saw, I was more impressed with Beach Terrace."

"I'm very happy with Meadowlark Gardens I. It's a board and care home with a total of 6 patients, and for my mom's care, I think it's wonderful. The room is lovely, and they take excellent care. It's a lovely facility with a lovely patio. Everybody has their own bedrooms, the caregivers are fabulous, and Mom loves her food."

"I like Rowntree Gardens because it had all aspects of treatment for my mom. They have doctors on site. They have doctors that will come to the place. She could get her PCP to be affiliated with the place, so they can come to see her there. They have a clinic there, where she can see the doctor as an outpatient in the clinic that's on the premises. They have a rehab facility and a skilled nursing facility on the same grounds. The people in the memory care are integrated at times for meals and for special events with the other people that live there. So it's like a total community. The staff are all wonderful. They're pleasant. They're all smiling, friendly, and a lot of them have worked here for 20 years. That was another thing, when you can retain a lot of staff for 20 years. They're doing something right. The facility is clean. They're organized, and they've been there for 65 years. It just looks like they know what they're doing. The other factor for me was that it's a faith-based community, even though they don't adhere necessarily to any religion. They have a chapel there, and that was a big thing for me. I was very pleased with the experience. They have good food. I ate one meal there and it was great. The staff are wonderful. They answer all your questions. If they don't know the answer, they'll find somebody who does; then the person gets back to you. So I'm very pleased."

"My in-laws will be moving to Carmel Village tomorrow. From what I have seen, it was really nice, clean, and will work out nicely for them. Everybody was friendly. It was bright, airy, and very nice. I saw their calendar of activities, but I did not know if it would fit in with my relatives’ lifestyle. However, they had a lot to keep them active, if they wanted to pursue it. They had bingo, shuffleboard, and video games, like video bowling. They had live entertainments on Fridays. My in-laws were very satisfied with the meal that they had in there. "

"My mother-in-law stayed in Brookdale Valley View short term. The people there are very friendly and very helpful. She liked playing bingo every day and was a positive experience, really didn't have any negatives at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was average size and not too big, but she didn't need a big room. I guess the only negative I heard from her about it , was the TV, cable loses reception occasionally. They have bingo and then they have an outdoor patio, where they occasionally have a musician that would come. It's Christmas time, so they had Christmas musicians come and play for them. We had no problems. It's a little bit older complex, so it's not new and shiny. It's a smaller complex, which is fine with us, but it's kept up very well. The parking is not great, I should say. She seemed to be very happy with the activities."
