"I toured Beach Terrace Assisted Living & Memory Care. It was bright with lots of natural sunlight. The interior, the way it was decorated was beautiful. The common space was huge. It just feels so welcoming. I saw the menu and it looked like a menu at a restaurant. What was on the menu was pretty interesting, like salmon, asparagus, squash, and stuff like that. I saw a shared room. It was nice. I like the semi-private room, and the room on each side was huge. You can really put a six-seating dining room table and a full-size bed. The shared bathroom was in between and they had doors from each side of the room for the bathroom. They had a big picture window. The staff was so gracious. He was so informative. The tour was guided by the guy who worked there, but the guy that I already had was the one who took me. He was the one who was already familiar with the place, and between what I heard and what I saw, I was more impressed with Beach Terrace."

"I'm very happy with Meadowlark Gardens I. It's a board and care home with a total of 6 patients, and for my mom's care, I think it's wonderful. The room is lovely, and they take excellent care. It's a lovely facility with a lovely patio. Everybody has their own bedrooms, the caregivers are fabulous, and Mom loves her food."

"We looked at Rowntree Gardens. The staff was nice. We liked the apartment a lot better than other places we visited. It had a lot more space. However, it was a little too old for me. Nevertheless, the activities were OK, and the apartments were nice. "

"We liked Carmel Village Retirement Community. They seemed very friendly and my brother was impressed that the person who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable and knew everybody we passed. He thought that said a lot. It's a nice facility and we'd like to work with them. They use the point system so we could kind of figure out what level of care we needed for mom. The one thing I didn't care for was I didn't see enough staff on hand. For one area, they said there might be 1 staff for 27 residents. My mom would need more assistance, so I was just concerned that they might not have enough staff."

"At Brookdale Garden Grove, you pay one cost for the room, then you scale for the care that you need, depending on how many caregivers you need, and what you need care for. The staff who gave me the tour was very good, he took us all to the whole thing. He took us outside to the patio and up to the multimedia room. I think he was a better tour guide than in the other place I visited. They do church, had musical stuff, play bingo, and had horse races. They had private dining rooms."

"I found the right place for me. Emeritus at Valley View is a place where they feed me and take care of me. It's very good, and I’m pleased. They have a lot of activities, and the staff coordinates them very well. They’re very friendly. If you need the food brought to your room, the kitchen staff will do that for you. The meals were just OK; they weren’t as good as some of the other stuff. They have several bingo games. They have some board games, and they have some trivia. They have a bus that'll take you to shopping and things like that. Their maintenance and up-keep is very good. My room is comfortable. It's just right, and it fits me very well. "

"My dad moved in a week ago. The place seems nice. The staff was amazing so far. I toured the place, and they have great rooms. It was spacious and good. I paid for a double room, but he is by himself because they're low on people right now. So he will be getting a roommate, I imagine. It seems like they keep them busy all day long. They have a calendar of activities. The first day there, he's on their Facebook page dancing like two hours after he got there. So that was a good one. They have so much room. They have a huge amount of walking area. I haven't seen that in any other place. It's all dementia and Alzheimer's there, so there's no assisted living. They can go outside, walk around, and circle. It's pretty cool. That's good for him because he's a walker. The place seems awesome."
