I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad and my sister were residents of Artesia Christian Home. The facility is spotless. They've got a good, great staff, and they're very accommodating. They had maybe a small bump in the road every once in a while, but other than that, things were fine. Their staff was excellent. They're very friendly. They're very quick to help in critical situations. We're just really pleased with them. They loved the food. The kitchen staff was excellent, too. They put on quality products. They've got a little open area of patios. If you want to meet your family there, they have a nice place for you to meet. They also have little meeting areas throughout the home. There's a nice, quiet neighborhood around there. So if you want to take a walk around the block, you can. My father used to do that quite regularly and he enjoyed it. They have Bible studies there. They have group activities. They bring people in throughout the month as far as there might be a Bible teacher who comes in, maybe motivational people. They do little exercise classes. They keep the residents busy. This is the thing about it. The folks were bathed. They're washed. They're dressed and they're ready at a time in the morning when they're serving breakfast. So, everybody comes out there, they're dressed, they're clean, and that's how they start your day. They got the staff doting over them for the rest of the day. They've got a little aviary. It's a big bird cage and they keep that very active. I love the variety of the little birds that they put in there. They have a little garden area if you want to grow some tomatoes or put something like that.

It has been a positive experience with Artesia Christian Home for the most part. My mom's room is pretty nice. It's a 1-bedroom with a full bath and kitchenette. The facility is also pretty nice and above average. They have a lot of activities for the residents, and the food is pretty good. The place is really clean and it's been kept up really well. They have nice furniture in the lounging areas.

I visited this facility

We went to Artesia Christian Home. Everybody there was very nice. I, personally, would recommend it. It was a little bit out of my price range, but she still might end up there. The staff was very knowledgeable and very understanding. They helped me because I did not really know what I needed. They had an activity rooms. It was an older facility, but they had a new part. They had small rooms, but in the newer section, the rooms were bigger and a lot nicer. The older section was old. They now had memory care, which they were building. They also had duplexes there. I thought they were great.

I visited this facility

This was one of the better assisted living facilities I've ever visited as a student volunteer. The institution is divided into two wards: those who need constant medical attention and supervision and those who can care for themselves. Every week, I visited the later ward to provide some recreational activities. Each of the residents gets their own room and bathroom, which they decorated with their personal touch. The overall atmosphere is a gentile and friendly one. A few of the residents gets upset or depressed because they haven't seen their family in a while. But some of the residents who have lived there longer try to cheer them up by inviting them to tea or some recreational game. The supervisors always make sure that the residents have something to do most of the time. They have an aviary with some of the most charming singing birds, and a rec room with musical instruments and books. I understand that to upkeep a facility like this one comes at a considerable costs, which is the main compliant I've heard from other families. But, their loved ones receive the care that they should be receiving from home.
